Go run away

to your dreams my love,

I'll be the nightmare waiting for you

when you wake up..
Saying goodbye
To someone you love
Is like reading the final page
Of an amazing book.

As the last chapter ends
You begin to notice
Just how beautiful
And perfect
The plot always was.

You appreciate the joy
And even the pain
As you read and thumb
Through every page.

Finally understanding
The moral of the story,
You realize you've reached
The end of this journey.

Although the last sentence
Is the most difficult to read
Another great book awaits
Once you turn the final page.

Eventually you may stumble
Upon yet another great find.
Or maybe you'll return
To the book you left behind.

You may just discover
Once all is said and done
That this particular book
Was your favorite story
All along.

It could be a million people.
It could be my demons.
It could be the problems I'm not dealing with.
It could be the people I'm trying not to think about.
It could be the thing I need to hear most.
It's almost definitely not you.
But, heaven help me, it is.

Because you are my demons.
You're a problem I'm avoiding.
You're the person I try not to think about.
And you have become the voice I need to hear most.
So on the other end of this phone,
screaming at me like an angel,
it almost definitely is you.

And, heaven help me, I'm picking up.

maybe it's just easier to deny
the existence of soulmates
than to accept the fact
that everyone has one
*except for you.
-feeling used but i'm still missing you
When we were young, all things were new
The rising sun, the morning dew.
Through you I saw the ocean first,
From stormy eyes I saw the surf.
I tasted summer in your lips
The flavor of the brackish mist
That lingered on with days and years
That veil of time was thin and sheer.
When we were young the summer months
Seemed everlasting, endless once.
Heated asphalt, mosquito'ed creeks
We dipped our toes to beat the heat.

When we were young, immortal then
I never thought there'd be an end...
I never thought I'd move away
I never dreamt you wouldn't stay...
I never thought when we were young
Your final song would go unsung,
I never thought there'd come a day
Your final words- you'd never say.

When we were young
When we
Were young
When
We
Were
Young
I never thought
You'd die.

Have you ever
stopped to listen
to the things
the clouds
are saying
as the rain
pours down
on this earth?
Maybe they had
a bad day,
and only need
a listening
ear.

Not feeling it right now
Like driving at night on a highway
Lights broken, totally black
Confidence, knowing…gone
Why? I was feeling so good!
So sure….perhaps not.
My mind, my enemy
Make it stop. These thoughts.
Sabotage!

Go away, I beg you.
The fear, the pain
Failure ensue
Not now, no rain
The promise of good
I’ll change just see
If only I would
I am, you see
Just someone who fears
That setting sun
Hold back my tears
As I come undone
Tragedy I own
Tis joy not mine
The sins I’ve sown
In death I shall find
The peace I seek
For I cannot live
In this world so bleak
My heart, I would give
To free the bond
For I, a slave
Until I’m gone
Never to brave

I am weak
Don’t mock
I tried, oh have I tried
Just leave me be
This world is hard
