And I just want to feel your breath
On my neck
And your *******
On my chest
And I just want to feel your lips
On my cheek
Telling me I’ll be okay
When I’m feeling awfully weak
And I just want to see your eyes
Meeting mine
Soft orbs of blue
Too mature for your time
And I just want to hear your voice
Whispering softly in my ear
Be here with me
Be near
I can’t handle this distance
Not only of miles, but of mind
I never could catch you
But god how long I tried.

A Thomas Hawkins
There's a reason there's a path outside your door
that leads to a road
that leads to an interstate,
that leads to an airport.

And there's a reason that planes fly from that airport
to one near here.

Same reason that airport has a road
that leads to a highway
a highway that they are repairing as we speak
that leads to my town
to a path that leads to my door

And its not just coincidence.

Any more than its coincidence that you are reading this.

For the Disney print princess
who knows what she's about,
who finds fascinating worlds within dust cover jackets,
who sends smiles in parenthesis; lost love brackets
over classroom mid-drifts,
a bare silence interrupted by pure kindness;
for who walks in noise behind inaudible
commuters from this station to that station
all the way home and back out again on her family vacation,
who can match and pair t-shirts and jeans with
bowler hat crowns from the palace of queens,
who, for all we know, could eat with elbows on tables
and read not prose, but short fiction fables,
who wouldn’t hold doors open or say thank you
to bus men and their drivers,
who might smoke away her pay
with great plumes almost every day,

who might not be the girl I thought she was.

Miss Joan Hunter Dunn, Miss Joan Hunter Dunn
What a vision of loveliness you have become
As I watch from the wings sipping a Pimms
A one-sided love affair has just begun

She holds a martini and graciously flirts
Still wearing the fetching tennis skirt
All the boys stare as she climbs up the stair
Every one wishing she could be theirs

Miss Joan Hunter Dunn, Miss Joan Hunter Dunn
Did I cheer too loud for the match that you won?
Was our handshake too long when I told you well done?

And now it is nineteen seventy one
What an excellent wife and mother you've become
But alas not to me

I'm so cold today
but this
can't be
it's
summertime

I touch my arms
they are
warm
I touch my legs
they are
warm
I touch my lips
they are
a little
cold

I don't feel right
my heart don't
feel right

I put my hand
over my
heart
It's still there
but it also
feels a little
cold

Maybe I'm just
getting
a
cold heart
finally

The strength of her words radiates on the cage walls
the bars burn red hot, burning my hands as I try to escape
As her voice grows colder, the walls close in
pressing against the red hot bars my own screaming the only thing I can hear
-I stay silent-

My face is held up by steel, movement will break the dam (my greatest achievement)

It's my fault I'm here trapped in this cage with red hot bars, from which I shall never be freed.

I've stopped trying to ask for help when her words make the bars radiate with heat
hiding in silence I wait to meet the light until the end of this fight

My lover asks me:
"What is the difference between me and the sky?"
The difference, my love,
Is that when you laugh,
I forget about the sky.

Pain

There are so many types of pain one can endure;
And sometimes the person can't find a cure.

There is a physical pain of the body which stings every time it's touched;
The scrapes, cuts and burns that can't be covered up that much.

Then there's the emotional pain which makes your heart feel like its being stabbed with a knife;
This type of pain occurs everyday depending on ones life.

The amazing connection between the two types of pains is that one of them is caused because of the other pain;
When you're emotionally insecure you tend to hurt yourself, which really just makes you go insane.

When you have physical pains it actually hurts you emotionally because of the pain you're trying to deal with;
You can't help but feel these emotions and make a better switch.

In the end, you have to accept everything that happens no matter how much it may hurt;
There will always be a resolution to keep hanging on for even though you may feel like dirt.
