find beauty in everything

You cannot teach
someone how to love you-
you can only find
someone who does.

Another year,
another chapter
in this book we call life.
Turn the page and
begin your story.

One day you said
your last goodbye
and we turned away.
We just disappeared
from each other's world
and that was that.

Solitude is not my enemy,
Solitude is more of a pet.
I call it over in times of need-
it comes to me, sits by my side
and makes for good company.
Sometimes solitude will bite
to remind me of just how lonely
the solitary life can be.
But thanks to solitude,
I see life for what it is.

I find myself peeking through
a window I had closed long ago.
All that remains is shadow and silence
of a life long left behind.
That place builds up dust now,
an empty room that I
once called home.

Every step you take,
every soul you cross,
each one leading you down
a different path with the
potential to change
your life forever.
