I will remember the time,
The time, when We kissed
for the first time, pushed back
against the wooden doors
of My room. The time when
I made Her cry,
and wiped the tears off Her face,
with My towel, and a sorry heart,
The time, when "just friends"
turned "I love You too", along
with a kiss and a tight grip,
The time, when She out of blue,
snatched My collars and kissed Me,
pausing My breath, smiling,
I was confused. Whether to
smile or stay stunned, or
when She called Me by pet names,
even within crowds, I smiled,
It was embarrassing, yet cute.
Ow, What a beautiful time.

Though, with one exception,
We both are flowing with
beautiful ambiance of the time,
but with a destiny towards
"Just a friend". A rare story of Mine,
Where, We chose to be happy,
yet, none with a victory sign ...
After a day well spent, thoughts that came into my mind, Gave birth to this poem.....

We **** by pushing a button.
WE DIE RUNNING FOR COVER.
We are fighting for our country.
WE ARE FIGHTING FOR A COUNTRY
Our sons fear deployment.
OUR CHILDREN FEAR BOMBARDMENT.
We bury our dead in the national cemetery.
WE DISCOVERED A MASS GRAVE.
Our war is raising the national deficit.
OUR MARKETS HAVE NO FOOD FOR SALE.
We proudly display our flag.
WE'VE BEEN ARRESTED FOR DISPLAYING OUR FLAG.
Our mothers grieve for their sons.
OUR PEOPLE GRIEVE FOR THEIR VILLAGES.
When will our soldiers return?
I WATCHED MY HOUSE BURN.
Our son came home in a coffin on a plane.
WE BURIED A PIECE OF FLESH THAT WE GAVE A NAME.
We saluted the soldiers marching in uniform.
OUR SOLDIERS DRESS LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE.
We carefully weighed the costs and benefits.
WE DECIDED THERE WAS NOTHING TO LOSE.
Wrote this a few years back but it is applicable to most wars.

Perfectly imperfect,
I like your quirks.

Hair as smooth as chocolate gelato,
my boy from Montescaglioso.

Skin ain't bright like a tangerine (though you're sweet as one),
but as dark as the moon who married the sun.

Almond shaped eyes,
blaze without doping.

Arctic Monkeys were right,
I could't stop dreaming about you nearly every single night.

And that smile,
that god awful smile that releases like Frank's albums,
without even realizing that you're taking me with the tide.

Sometimes the world forgets to notice but,
Ti ricorderĂ² per sempre
*I will remember you forever

Tell me I blew it
Candles on the cake
Tell me I'm changing like seasons
Nothing more than fake
How many mistakes until you're done?
****...
These thoughts weigh a ton

As she trembled from pain and cold
I had no verbal sedatives for her nerves
I found no right words
So I just held her

I held her so close, saying no promises
As the cold winds whostled in the night
I hoped our hearts could communicate
She was hurt and destroyed inside

She spoke of sorrow
Hope was faded away, her strength wasting away,
A day or two she'd blacked out
Anger, deprivation, fear

They were drowning her in a sea of despondency
My melancholic arms wrapped her
As the bitter cold night shifted
Trying to give her as much heat as I could

I never let go of her
As the earth span us close
I was helplessly wordless
Useless but she held on closer

I just held her
I let her tears drench her
'You are a survivor'
My unspoken words warmed her

Her trembling ceased
As we drifted asleep
We walk up to a flicker of hope
As I kissed her in the sunrise
Unforgettable memories
