I'm going to have the best life
In the whole wide world.
I am going to be so so so happy.
I want to grow up so badly.

The words of a different boy,
What happened to me?

My mind was in the clouds.
My heart was in the skies.
My soul, never slowing down.

I ran forward.
I was so distracted looking up,
I didn't realize there was no longer
Ground beneath my feet.
With one final step,
Joy,
Ambition,
Hope,
They plummeted off the cliff.
As that last bit of ground disappeared,
My happiness was replaced with fear.

I wanted to grow up so badly.
Life granted my wish.

"Let's play a game,
It's a secret game,
Just you and me,
Promise not to tell anybody.

Take off your pants,
Don't you trust me?
We're family."

I wanted to grow up so badly.
Life granted my wish,
She stole my innocence.

Sorry Matt,
He's gone.

How is a little kid supposed to accept death like that?
I never knew this type of pain.
The lack of knowledge was replaced with a lack of sleep.
Don't close your eyes,
You'll just see his face.

The last gift he gave me was a knife.
I don't want to live without him.
I don't want to live today.
Maybe I'll see him if I use this blade.
His death first, mine next.
Let's introduce steel to my chest.

I wanted to grow up so badly.
Life granted my wish,
She gave me his death and asked for mine.

Your condition is severe.
According to the scans,
Your brain's due date is near.
You're gonna die unless we operate.

I'll be fine,
This is just a step in my life.
It's just a phase,
I'll be healthy in a matter of days.

But on the inside I questioned my life.
What if I die today,
What if I die tonight?
Confidence flickers like candlelight.
The candle caught fire and it all began to burn.
My memories turned to ash,
And confidence flew with the wind.

I can't remember anything,
I can't remember me.
I have a name,
I have stories.
But I've lost the ability to see.

I wanted to grow up so badly.
Life granted my wish,
She let me taste death and took my security.

"Can you take your brother to school?
I don't feel good this morning."
Six months later,
She's still in bed,
Still doesn't feel good,
Will she get better?
Will this ever end?

Tears staining the hospital floor,
How can so much pain come from a place of healing?

I wanted to grow up so badly.
Life granted my wish,
She tried to take my mom from me.

Five in the morning,
Another one gone.
I thought I had become numb,
But relapse came with the storm.
I can't take much more.

Her life traded for endless pain.
I'll never be alone,
When I have this loneliness to keep me company.
How many more must you take?
How many scars must you create?

I wanted to grow up so badly.
Life granted my wish,
She killed my best friend.

I have no where else to go,
There's no place for me.
Growing seems to be in reverse,
I'm dying slowly.

I wanted to grow up so badly.
But I never wanted God to abandon me,
I never wanted life to destroy me.
If this is what growing up is like,
I don't ever want to grow up again.

Chain me to the ground,
I'm looking down
At the jagged rocks below,
Hold your breath,
There's still so much left,
I've just got to take things slow.

Steady mind,
I must be kind,
And be as patient as I can be.
Control the shaking,
The time needs taking
To find the better person in me.

I keep telling myself to take a break from poetry
loving,

But then life
And you, insert yourself
Into me,
Pincer and Fist,

I am ****** once again.
I am broken once again.
Poetry patches me up, sometimes....

But any addiction is bad, even poetry, even caring.

Life, so fragile a thing.
Wasted, life through careless indecision.
Gifts, wasted through silence.
Do you not see?
There is a curse to humanity.
Consciousness brought through evolution,
New power to triumph, a revolution,
Power and bonds break, dissolution.
Our own inability to save that which we rely upon.
Because of our own ability to ignore all we must see.
Your consciousness, could easily be the end,
Of me.

to you, this is just a past date
to me, it's when I found out I was too late
too late to save her from her misery
to help, to stop, to make her happy.

you left this world without
any warnings or goodbye's
I still to this day ask myself
why did you have to die?

I know you're in a better place
I just wish you were happy here
although you aren't alive anymore
your presence and soul is near

the day you died
I can't explain the tears
I hate the thought
of you not being here

I just wish you didnt
hold it all inside
or decide the only way to be happy
was to commit suicide

I always think about you
I'll even shed a tear
it's just sad to think
it's already been three years

I'll never forget you
or the memories we shared
memories with anyone else
could never compare

you were always there for me
that's what best friends do
right up until the end
I will always love you
Do 10 words count as a
poem because I don't know.
But I hope you understand this.
Its like a future thing.

I am me.
Trying to stay free of any and all forms of tyranny.
Expectations and assumptions beat me down.
I am being crammed into a glass box 5 sizes too small for my body,
Being crushed on all sides as the walls close in around me,
Banging fists of fury as I seek a fault in its corners.
I cannot find a single one.

I cannot recall the time or place when it all began,
The words came slowly at first, trickling in.
Soon they were cascading into my mind.
I knew if I didn't break free I'd drown.

I can hear the voice,
But my screams are shut out by society-plugged ears.

Words shackling me to these transparent walls,
Throat burning as screams yield to croaks,
Lungs bursting from the foreign atmosphere filling them,
Mind shattering in the way i wish glass did,
Thoughts breaking as words come crashing in.

No escape,
No release,

I am society.

once I saw a girl,
with long brown hair and red wrists.
and I thought, how could someone so beautiful be so troubled?
once I saw a girl,
with deep blue eyes and no strength left to stand.
and I thought, how could someone so weak ignore what will make them strong?
once I saw a girl,
with scared wrists, slumped against the bathroom door.
and without thinking,
smashed the mirror.
