Still
Lisa A Anglin Oct 2018
In those moments that pass so slow
When you're down and feeling low

Still your heart and still your mind
And in that stillness you will find

That my thoughts and spirit are still with you
Along with the eternal love I have for you

When the nights are so still and the moon shines so bright
Those are the hours I think of you holding me tight
When passion runs fervent through out my soul
It's only to you whom I wish to relinquish control
If never I had felt such overwhelming satisfaction
I wouldn't be able to have this reaction
The ecstasy and bliss have been amazing it's true
But sometimes I wish I had never met you

Storms Within
Lisa A Anglin Oct 2018
As the clouds darken
and dominate the autumn sky,
I can feel the storm brew
within my soul.
The winds blow through
my volatile mind,
twisting my view into
thoughts of anxiety.
Thunder echos through
my empty body,
taunting me with endless rumbles.
Lightening strikes my heart,
leaving it with yet another
wound to mend.
Until finally the rain
bursts from my eyes.
Slowly the storms rage is subsided...
but only for awhile.
**** Him!

Life, (Like A Bitch)
Lisa A Anglin Oct 2018
Life, (like a *****) can be a royal pain
Still one fact does remain
Life will go on each waking day
And only a ***** can do what others can only say

My Reflection
Lisa A Anglin Dec 2014
I look into the mirror and I am surprised to see
That I don't recognize the woman who looks back at me

There are no red highlights in her long blond hair
In it's place gray has taken root there

Skin that was once flushed with juvenility
Now is wrinkled and shows signs of antiquity

Eyes that were once bright and keen
Now look faded from the years they've seen

This can't be my reflection that I see
This old woman who's looking back at me

I can't have aged this many years
I'm not as old as this woman appears

Then I start thinking of the days gone by
And feel the tears pick my eyes

Growing up with in a family who loves me still
Going to school filling the bill

Dating and meeting the man I'd wed
Remembering the vows that we said

Being blessed with a new life to raise
Oh how young I was in those days

The years flew by as I reminisced
Remembering each milestone, the turns and twists

I looked at my reflection again and seen
A wise and mature woman looking back at me

A sad smile forms on my lips
As I slowly come to grips

That the years have caught up with me
And the price I pay is my vanity

Still, I wouldn't trade the wrinkles or one gray hair
For I've enjoyed the life that has gotten me here

Now I look forward instead of looking at the past
No waisting time, it goes by too fast

Blessed with a daughter and two grandsons who love me
I'm proud to be called Mom and "Grammy"

Yes, time has taken it's toll
But I still know how to rock and roll

So with each new day I'll dance and sing
To life's music and the gift's it brings

I give my thanks to the Lord and Lady above
For the years I've seen and all the love

Feelings Spared
Lisa A Anglin Dec 2014
I’m not telling you this to complain
Cause I only have myself to blame
But there’s something I need to say
Then I’ll go about my own way

I knew right from the start
You wanted everything but my heart
I thought I could play that game
Now things will never be the same

I never meant to feel this way for you
God knows I tried my damnedest not to
But every time our bodies entwined
I’d loose myself a little more each time

Dreaming of you holding me tight
As I lay alone in my bed at night
Yearning for the feeling of your strong embrace
Holding me close or just seeing your face

Knowing that the only thing that we shared
Was passion with feelings spared
Still I spend my days thinking about you
Wishing that you were thinking about me too

Save Me
Lisa A Anglin Sep 2013
You sneak up behind me like the coward that you are.
Taking control of my life, leaving me disbarred
You turn my world upside down
Lost in the shadows I hit the ground

Save me! Somebody please..., Save me!
I’m drowning in this rampant sea.
Save me! Somebody please..., Save me!
Can’t anyone hear my frightful plea?

I feel you close in on me, suffocating my life
Taking over everything and turning it into strife
I’m unable to rationalize now that you’ve taken control
I struggle now just to hold on to my soul

Lady Slow Down
Lisa A Anglin Sep 2013
Lady Slow Down
The moon will come out when the sun goes down.
It still takes 24 hours for this ol’ world to go 'round.
Lively Lady Slow Down
You speak of tomorrow as if it were yesterday.
With all the tomorrows behind you
What has become of today?
Hey Lady Slow Down
You'll miss life's rainbow traveling at the speed of sound
Take the time to see what you've already found.
Lovely Lady Slow Down
Yesterday’s fate was a lesson with a price to pay
While tomorrows destiny is chosen today.
Lucky Lady Slow Down
This is your chance, a second time around
Don't risk missing what isn't easily found.
Lovely Lady Slow Down

I’d Still Do The Crime
Lisa A Anglin Sep 2013
How can I explain so you can understand
I’m not to blame for it getting out of hand
You call me a user but there’s something you should know
I’m being held prisoner in a cage that doesn’t show

You say I hold the key to the prison that I am in
Yield to ‘The Powers That Be’ to find your God within
Have faith in yourself look to a ‘Higher Power’
Let everything you’ve felt no longer make you cower

Listen to what I say and keep an open mind
Sobriety brings dismay and depression combined
I’ve tried living sober, ‘One Day At A Time’
If I could do it over I’d still do the crime

Growing
Lisa A Anglin Sep 2013
Growing up is such a hard thing to do
They don't understand what you're going through
They don't remember the hurt or pain
They can't see where the scars will remain
They tell us love will come again
It really doesn't mater to them
It's only 'puppy love' from their point of view
If only they realized, this love is true
I can't wait for the day I am grown
When my life is my own

Growing (cont)

Growing up is such a hard thing to do
They don't understand what you're going through
You try to protect them from the hurt and pain
To save them from making your mistakes again
If only they'd listen to your words and believe
Your intentions are loyal, not meant to deceive
You smile and remember your first beau
The pain has lessened now, time has made it so
I hope I never fail in making you see
I do remember how it use to be

Growing (cont)

Growing old is such a hard thing to do
They don't understand what you're going through
They can't feel the aches and pains
Or comprehend the stress and strain
You look back to the time when you were young
And smile with pride at all you have done
Your baby girl is all grown
And has three boys of her own
The years flew by and now I can see
Just how hard growing can be

MOM
Lisa A Anglin Sep 2013
MOM
I never really knew
Just how much I needed you

You were my strength when I was unsure
You were my anchor, you taught me how to endure

You where my logic when I was confused
You gave me direction, you were my muse

Now you are gone and there are times I feel so alone
Nothing is the same, even this house doesn’t feel like home

I tell myself that you are still here with me
That if I close my eyes then I will see

That you are in my heart and you are in my soul
You will always be apart of me that I never have to let go

I love and miss you more than words can say
And the memory of you helps me make it through each day

I love you Mom!

I love you enough
Lisa A Anglin Oct 2010
I love you enough that
what is important to me
is not if we are together or apart
but what makes you happy

I’ll miss the time we’d spend
just you and I
and every now and then
tears will come to my eyes

I can’t help that I’ll miss
the time I spent with you
or silently wish
for one more night with you

When I see her kiss you
it’s hard for me to remember
that it’s out of love
my ego must surrender

So I will swallow the hurt
and watch you through loves eyes
and know that I love you enough
to wish you the best in life

Life’s A Bitch And So Am I
Lisa A Anglin Oct 2010
There was a time my heart wasn’t as cold.
Once I owned a heart of gold.
Till one day I came to see,
Hearts of gold break too easily.
I only have too cheeks to turn,
Both were black and blue before I learned,
A heart can break only so many times,
Before it’s time to draw the line.
Life’s a ***** and it’s time to be
Just as ****** as life treats me.
So I learned to bite as well as growl.
No longer do I throw in the towel.
There is no more tears for these eyes to cry,
...Cause Life’s A ***** And So Am I.

Blue Moon
Lisa A Anglin Sep 2010
Never in my life did I expect to see
A blue moon shine its light on me
Or wish upon a star and hope to believe
That star would twinkle, then fall for me
Only in my thoughts did I fantasize
Of a secret night for you and I
Until fate chose to let me see
Life isn’t always how you expect it to be
Little could I know
But soon came to see
Memories would be better
Than fantasies
Now when I begin to dream of you
Instead I remember the dream that came true

Wishes On A Rainy Night
Lisa A Anglin Sep 2010
Wishes and dreams can come true,
All you have to know is what to do.
Just wish upon a star on a rainy night,
Reciting an old poem, Star Light Star Bright...,
I wish I may, I wish I might,
Have the wish I wish tonight.
Look into my lonely eyes and see,
Just what this cruel world has done to me.
Feeling all alone in emptiness,
What could be worse than this?
Holding onto dreams long past due,
Not knowing what else to do.
But wish upon a star on a rainy night,
Reciting an old poem, Star Light Star Bright...,
Days unlike the years can pass so slow,
While in my heart the fervor grows.
I look up to the sky in time to see
the star I’ve wished upon twinkle then fall to me.
Reaching for my dreams and holding tight,
while wishing on a star on a rainy night.

Life Is A Journey
Lisa A Anglin Jun 2010
Life is a journey with hills and winding roads for me to travel as I bestow. There are paths that cross and dead-end streets. There are plenty of detours and obstacles to meet. One day I found myself on a lone highway when I became aware I had lost my way. I looked around to my concern and wondered when I had made a wrong turn. I looked for a sign to tell me my location and found myself reflecting upon my initial destination.
My passage through life has lost its intention. I wander across trails of no ambition. Wearily I struggle to fight dejection... as I span the horizon contemplating my direction. East, South, West, or North, I must decide in order to go forth. Feeling overwhelmed I fall to my knees and ask Goddess Diana to help me please.
I hear a voice inside me say, ”My dear child, you know your way. Follow your heart it will always lead to paths of splendor and the way to succeed. Remember the words of our Wiccan Rede, and the three fold law must you heed. Be of true heart and goodwill, and ye harm none do what ye will.”
I rise to my feet and look to the west remembering now my journeys quest. I watch an eagle fly towards the sea and knew all was well, So Mote It Be!

Diamond Blue Skies
Lisa A Anglin Jun 2010
Quiet. So quiet, at times it scares me
The calm before the storm
Winter blue skies enchant me as I peer into its depth
Silently I wish to be apart of it
Living in its freedom, it’s ever changing reality
I look deeper, my stomach begins to quiver, anticipating...
At last a gentle wind embraces my body.
Rapidly it becomes stronger... Intoxicating!
The invitation to ecstasy is beyond temptation
My soul lifts as I surrender myself
Leaving all thoughts of my worlds reality...
Now is my chance for fantasy

Strong winds engulf me
Spinning me faster, deeper, into those diamond blue skies
Easily, I am lost in its depth
I feel myself being swept away by soft rhythmic winds
Dancing as one
We touch the misty clouds and discover the passions they hide
Higher and higher we dance...
Feeling the heat of the sun
We climb towards the moon, the stars, into eternity!
United as one we cling in ecstasy
Tenderly now, we drift. Feeling all to be felt
Slowly we begin subsiding...
Ecstasy fades
Taking with it the hidden treasures
Those diamond blues protect so well

And Life Goes On
Lisa A Anglin May 2010
Hold me close so I can feel no pain,
Listen to my heart, it’s beginning to rain.
Is there nothing you can do or say...,
That’ll make this pain go away?
Looks like it’s gonna be a cloudy day.

And life goes on it’s plain to see
   The bitter truths of reality
Is this how it’s meant to be?
   Call it fate or destiny.

Can you feel the rumble as the thunder roars?
Lightening strikes, the tears begin to pour.
What will break first, the storm or I?
Fierce winds stir ‘round the pain inside...,
Looks like it’s gonna be a dark lonely sky.

And life goes on each waking day,
With skies of blue or skies of gray.
Do we embrace or do we betray?
Is it providence or come what may?

I Want To Be
Lisa A Anglin May 2010
I feel the wind blowing through my hair
Even when there is no wind
I see the rocks bend with the wind
But I know rocks don't bend
I feel the sand between my toes
Where there is no sand
I hear the Rock Band playing
But I see no band
I sit where I am
Unseen by the world around me
For I don't want to be there
I want to be...
Where the wind is blowing
Where the rocks are growing
Where the sand is laying
And where I can hear the Rock Band Playing

Echoes
Lisa A Anglin May 2010
Obscure, with feelings shrouded by loss and pain,
Unwilling or unable to open the door for love again.
A soul filled with devotion and loyalty,
A heart that is empty from what use to be.
Behind eyes of a distance and detached vision,
Are echoes of a passion locked within a prison.

Beyond The Senses
Lisa A Anglin Jan 2010
When it is the darkness we are seeing
Then we are seeing nothing at all
When we listen to emptiness
Then there is nothing for us to hear
When at the darkest dawn we seek beyond the blackness
Then enlightenment is revealed
When we heed the absence of void
Then we can hear over the silence

Do You Ever Think About Me
Lisa A Anglin Jan 2010
Do you ever think about me
Does the thought of me ever cross your mind
Have you ever held me close in a fantasy
Or envisioned our bodies fervidly intertwined
Have you ever wished I was near...
When you just needed someone to hear...
Your thoughts and feelings about...
What ever needed to come out.
Have you ever thought about me
When I think about you, my breath catches in my throat
My chest feels empty from the feelings it invokes
Just the sound of your voice...
Leaves me no choice...
I begin to reminisce...
Of your simple and gentle kiss
When I think about you...
And often I do
