you were never mine

but at the time it felt good to pretend

so I let your lies build fantasies in my head

gave myself consent to believe in things you never should have said

now I chain smoke cigarettes in your name

cursing this ****** up fairy tale of modern day
once queen and king, i got metaphorically beheaded lol
You don't even know
what a love poem is.

I'll show you,
here and now,
a love poem
is a rose
and a rock,
a love poem
is a robbery,
a love poem
is dropping Neruda to your girl
and thinking about the next caper
when she's not there,
a love poem
is thinking your girl
is yours
that she's a girl
in the first place,
a love poem
is a lie
just like
me saying I'd never leave
was a lie,
a love poem
is remorse,
a love poem
is hatred
of both the inside
and the outside,
a love poem
is me seeing through you
right to your heartbeat
and punching
you
as you sit exposed,
a love poem
is **** in an *******
all of me
made to hurt you,
a love poem
is ****
and the ensuing
yeast infection.

A love poem
is like trying to put a band-aid
on an ulcer,
a love poem
is a lot like love,
if love was watching cartoons
on ****
and thought
it saw the Holy Trinity
as Ed, Edd, and Eddy.
My Boyfriend Wrote This Poem

I Want Her To Love Me
As Much As She Loves her drug
Crystal ****.
I Want Her To Care About Me
How She Cares About Getting high.
I Want Her To Spend Time With Me
How She spends her time
Hitting the pipe
I Want Her To Come to Me When shes upset
Just how she reachs **** for support
I Want To Be The Only
One She Thinks About
I Want Her To See Me As Her Addictive Drug.
Not here
Not there
               Not anywhere

No reassuring hugs
No disapproving tugs
No walking down the aisle
No disapproving my style
No comforting smile
Dad's been dead for a while
I was home alone
and i got the call from my best friend
i wouldn't have been able to understand her
unless i knew her as well as i did.
She was sobbing.
I told her "I'm coming".
She didn't live that far away
i grabbed my bike and started going
the whole time with one hand
the other holding the phone
her crying on the other end
i've never heard my best friend cry
not like this.
I reached her house and there was many cars
i ran inside and found her instantly
she was in her parents room
our other best friend there too.
I went to her and asked her what was wrong
and why there was so many people here
she grabbed me and held on for dear life
she cried out
"My dad's dead, i found him."
i looked at her
and i saw the most pain in her eyes
that i have ever saw
in anything
or anyone.
Her cries sounded like she was dying
i knew she felt like it.
She said she went to his house with her sister
she went in first
she found him and dropped to the floor
her sister came in next
i could here her sister crying from the other room
i felt sadness in the house like it was crashing down on my shoulders
Her fragile heart was broke
it was all i could do to hold her together
The three of us sat there and cried
remembering.
To this day i can still see the sadness in her eyes
it closely resembles mine
but i would hold her together as long as i could.
She's one of the strongest people i know.
So i will be strong for her.
Some say that they bet
That by using the net
Your literacy, you can forget...

However, if I might
Let me give some insight
That, by using a website,
You read and you write
And, it's ecologically green
to write on your screen...

So, the next time that you
Hear them speak of I.Q.
You can reply to them, yet
That, by using the net
You're helping the bees
By saving their trees...

With no paper swarming
There's less global warming
And, you're gaining education
From a source of information
Which is virtually limitless.

It’s strange to think we fear the darkness
when we are younger,
A form of innocence that we harnessed
I’d much rather prefer.
Now that sounds crazy but hear me out
it’s something that you’ll see,
When innocence is gone you’ll come about
to find it hides in me.
That same darkness resides in you
I dread it’s greater than,
The darkness wrapped around your room
that you feared at age ten.
It’s something that grew inside your mind
and clung to your rib cage,
With every breath you come to find
the wars inside you wage.
It hides in every crevice and corner
bound to your bone marrow,
It tears apart your soul and worse
sometimes it even shows.
So I’d prefer those simpler days
with light came faith and trust,
The flick of a switch can’t keep at bay
the darkness inside all of us.
