Memories with you
are like little shards of glass,
poking and prodding at my heart.
Each ***** a reminder,
of how you used to feel.
I need you,
but you're nowhere to be found.
I miss the way things used to be.
I miss you.
Wanna get to know you,
Feel you inside,
What's your favorite song?
I wanna know what your laugh is like.
Your face looks like the sky after the snow,
Your scent like the rain in a fully bloomed meadow,
I want you in the winter.
Baby, I want you in the winter.

We can wake up and make coffee,
Or maybe just sleep.
I can feel your spirit next to me and it flooding me with electricity,
You ever feel that way?
Well, maybe it's just me.
But I want you in the winter,
Baby I want you in the winter.

Because what is love without a little cold weather?
What is love without a little bite?
Keep me warm with the whiskey and your cigarette breath,
Keep me warm in the blankets of a soft pale moonlight,
The way you light me up like a million strands of tiny bulbs,
I want you in the winter,
Baby, I want you in the winter.

Have you seen these oceans?—
They rise and crash on me
But my feet stand strong here
So I do not fall down

You are my own ocean—
Crashing against me
So blue and so unclear
Yet I will never drown

Oh Winter, I welcome you,
Your nippy air, your kindling hues,
And the tint they cast on my moods,
Oh Winter, if only you knew,

The simple pleasures your arrival bears-
The precious sleep that only your lullaby brings,
The sudden love for rich food you excite,
And so many other little 'winter things'-

Things like colourful gloves and socks,
And poor unsheltered, chilled pink nose tip,
And age-old pseudo-smoking out cold breath,
And cherry/strawberry/cocoa balms to coat the lips,

Doodling a beloved's name on a frosted window,
And tugging blanket under toes in bed, snugly,
The evening nap feeling more easing than ever,
Followed by heavenly gulps of warm milky coffee.

Oh Winter, despite, as the time of
Separation and Forlornness being ill-famed,
Each time you visit, you touch my senses
And leave them pleasantly tingling and inflamed.

For summer may be bright, sunny and sky-blue,
But you can be an enticing dark, a passionate maroon,
You mischievous cupid hiding under the garb of cosiness,
Refilling hearts with yearnings anew.

Welcome, dear Season of Romance,
Time to commence the routine all over again,
Of you- enthusing me with deep cold-warm sentiments,
And me- writing poems celebrating this eternal game.

What words to describe a person,
do you use words of love, or hate?
Words that distinguish one or standardise them?
I use these words describe you and our story.

Hum, the steady sound of your voice and being
that prevents me from being alone.

Hunger, that I crave
the only substance I need to keep me alive.

Grin, the smile thats grows
when I'm around you and disappears when we are apart.

Greeting, from saying hello
to good morning when we wake entwined.

Imprint, that stamp you leave
leaving your smell on the pillows long after you've gone.

Impetuous, those impromptu trips out
beaches, road trips, kisses, that show your love.

Frame, the moments we want to pause
treasure for ever in frames yet time ticks on.

Foul, for the bad days and moods we have
natural and made us stronger, for good and bad.

Apertural, the opening of our hearts
that lets in the light of us, love, hope of a future.

Absent, when sitting with friends or at work
I’m not there, I’m still in the morning in my head with you.

These words mean different things to people,
average words in dictionaries, but for us
these words have different meanings with more substance
a dictionary of us.

You are wandering in an endless loop
not yet escaped, though there is a centrifugal force
your heart has grown solid and blood crystalline
the known earth is becoming rearrange,
who loved whom and where everybody has gone!

The little gray spot has grown black
devouring the heart and stone!
a foot print exists on a black shale,
what has it meant that you count or not!
the soul is whispering in the life and rock

But the attraction of gravity is growing
and who has made this life and love?
how the river flows toward the sea!
and how your face has grown shrink that I see!
how the days sleep within the nights!

The loop is too tight to break
the season changes over and being
the red roses, the red roses have grown wither
your summer is now my winter,
though both we have seen that the dry leaves have flown away
