People Like Us
Kyle Williams Apr 2012
Maybe there are other people like us,
scraping £2.50 to get the night bus.
Requiring time,
but never a sign of love lost.

So when I wake up,
I look for the nearest shake up.
Wiping off your girlfriends make up,
because nothing will ever stop us.
Sending penetrating shivers,
an ecstasy like gold rush.

Back to sipping Hennessey,
making the girls blush but there ain’t no fuss,
‘coz the girls lost coming at a big cost,
as I plan the beginning the end and sub-plot.
Daym this girls hot but she don’t like ***,
if I don’t deliver man get shot.
Left 6ft under to rot, while my babies crying in her cot,
something the government planned,
straight to the source of another blood clot.

Unbelievable feeling’s that came from us,
but nothing was going to stop that bus
so don’t cause a fuss, head up and believe in trust.
If you could see me now, then you’d understand
two bags short of tenner, another pocket with ten grand.
Thinking about street corners, the place where it started,
going way back now, before my mother departed.
Family distraught, the horizon broken hearted.

Taking into account, the past and what’s it done,
I must face the consequences and what’s ahead to come.
It isn’t going to be fun, but I can’t turn and run,
believe in fate so the future doesn’t appear glum.
Then we call a peace treaty, and lay down our gun.

The Past, Present & Future
Kyle Williams Apr 2012
Dis-respect, hopeful.
Not short of neglect.
Pacifist nature, a dictator it appears,
a weak-minded citizen, relying on his peers.

Forget about the future,
and focus on what is now.
Not so much a lonesome child lacking self-esteem,
but one mighty passenger,
who has the world at his feet.

You will try to break me,
an outstanding act of choice,
you will deem me forsaken,
you better think twice.

Actions speak louder,
a lot louder than words,
but who defined the cattle,
and the man without a herd.

When you think of me,
not only will you find,
a better man than you,
but one that is confined.

Neglect is a cruel past-time,
but I respect the resistant.
The worlds going to crush you,
and prove your worth a pittance.

You’ll probably be reading this,
and feel a lot of guilt.
Rest your heads you lousy child,
and settle under your quilt.

For I’m not a pathetic man,
just one who has a dream.
If you think you can get in my way,
I’ll be sure to wipe you clean.

Who are these people?
Kyle Williams Apr 2012
The people were scattered,
like ants crawling the succulent juices of freshly grown peaches.
The people were scared,
humble, but somewhat agitated by fear that swallowed them.

The people were ruthless,
fighting against the morals of a higher society.
The people were calm,
resting their weary heads into the warmth of glorious companionship.

The people were lonely,
even the dilapidated warehouse found friendship amongst the city lights.
The city lights were carnivorous,
tall obnoxious buildings towering over the insects that abused their territory.

The world was resting,
only to be awoken by a homeless man seeking guidance.
We found peace,
even though war devoured every sense and emotion encapsulated within the human body.

We were free,
but activists charm and goodwill were impeccably out numbered by the senseless warriors.

A universe that sought a planet.
A planet that cried no mercy.
A continent that escaped humanity into vindictive territory.

Dictators stumbled into leadership,
hindering the lives of families through disturbing and violent hatred.
The people felt anguished,
scraping empty purses only to disdain the dream of a third world country.

The people felt happy.
This wasn't a place for intruders,
our hearts speak different
yet it is the path of the covetous mind we follow.

We are those people.

Despite Being In Spite Of
Kyle Williams Apr 2012
White blank pages, wars through the ages,
reminiscing the fallen but forgetting their faces.
Turning the blank page, only to amplify our rage,
living the dream; getting by on minimum wage.
Every day is a struggle, so we lacerate our morals,
no concern laid fourth, reflecting on our laurels.
Criticized on a subject that was laid upon the table,
choking on my pride only to find I was able.

Mis-lead interpretation, personified through false conclusion,
has un-wound my path, representing deluded illusion.
Approached by a stranger, as he clenched for my grasp,
soon I was awoken, and daunted of my past.

The man’s fragile nature, and disheveled presence,
only beckoned for the call of a cheap, lousy peasant.
Disentangling his mysteries, wasn’t on the agenda,
but allowing him hope, meant less chance of surrender.

Now I find myself here, far away from a throne,
sacrificing my living, and everything I own.
The poor, ragged peasant ceases to exist,
and to top it all off, Grandma’s knickers are in a twist.

So down I went, on both my knees,
closed my eyes and began to squeeze.
I couldn’t see anything, that was for sure,
but what happened next, well what a ****** *****.

The ***** old Grandma lay down on her bed,
took off her underwear, and this is what she said:
I’ve got a magic sixpence, will you come and give it a rub,
I’ve got hairy canary, and a belly full of flub.

Bewildered at this shocking scene, oh fast I did run,
only to be pulled by the neck, then up went her thumb.
“***** old Grandma, this just isn’t right”
“oh wind your ****** neck in son, I can’t believe you’re so tight!”

Grasping for air my lungs began to bulge,
I headed for the nearest exit, only to be told.
“Son, there’s one lesson to be learnt in life”
“Oh really, is there Grandma?”
“Yes”, she said. “That is ******* right.”

We are in an empire of a thousand sons,
but in the end we all count as one.
We will do our best to not act glum,
but when push comes to shove there will always be one.
Spontaneous heartache,
a natural disaster.
Poverty stricken nations,
A dictator for their master.

In my heart and in my mind
I’ll still find the time,
to teach every bird how to fly,
and every person to live the perfect lie.
We will wish for better days,
look to the skies and we will prey,
but in my heart and in my soul,
life’s love lost moments eat us whole
as we engage in our final goal.

If she even remembers me
for flying off the handle,
for broken picture frames
and a life that’s been dismantled,
then she’s like a flame,
flickering forever on my candle.

Like my mother used to say,
the days remain bright but the sky always grey,
a reminder of the past time
a substitute for the right way.
We set our stage on the shore-line,
blankets laid beneath us,
gazed at the endless night sky,
waiting for Augusts rush.

Looking at You
Kyle Williams May 2012
The more I think about you
all the **** that you put me through,
the ***** that you've turned into
focusing on me
like I've got some kind of issue,
now I'm sat here, run out of tissue
looking for someone I can listen to,
someone that used to be you.

Everything is starting to change fast,
I admit I was lost,
got threw off my path
spent long nights puffing on grass,
took a left hook just to get me off my ***
now I'm starting to laugh,
got a one way ticket, forgot about the past
I'm taking off and I ain't looking back.

You know very well who you are,
but you failed to hold me down.
You got me wishing upon a star,
and it's taking me far, so far.

Let's hold a truce,
I don't want to be anywhere near you,
when you're thinking about what made you,
you'll be looking at me and it'll hit you,
**** it'll go straight through you,
you ****** up, but I forgave you
then you turn on me with your "big" crew
like I'm someone that could **** you
it ain't like that,
man I feel sorry for you
now I'll be floating up to paradise,
your face is gonna turn blue,
but you couldn't give a ****,
'coz you ain't got a clue what you put me through.

No hard feelings,
you got me bouncing off the ceiling
you gave my life a new meaning,
got a smile that's beaming
a brain that won't stop dreaming,
'coz I won't stop believing
as long as I'm living on this feeling.

No Common Ground
Kyle Williams Apr 2012
There’s something missing.
No common ground,
no purpose to be found,
You’ve got to go because I don’t need you any more.

There’s something in my soul,
it’s telling me to let go.
Because it’s clear now, I’m better off alone,
We won’t make it through this one.

Better feelings of what’s to come.
We can’t change the past, nor what’s done.
It’s fallen into place, and it’s clear now,
I don’t need you any more.

You’ve got to move on,
pick yourself up, settle the score.
There is nothing left to fight for,
you took my brother, now we are no more.

Time is ticking now you got me tripping.
You’ve broken everything apart from my living.
But what can I say, is that I am proud,
no tears shed, no common ground.
I was once lost, but now I’m found.
