It's just that thing about time
You can't go back
Blink your eyes
And it's gone in a flash
Always moving forward

It's just that thing about time
It's got you cornered
How to spend it?
What will happen?
If you're not careful
It's something you'll get trapped in

It's just that thing about time
It can be so scary
It's something wild
It's out of the ordinary

It's just that thing about time
It's everywhere
You can't escape it

So be aware
Because it's just that thing about time
You can't go back
Blink your eyes
And it's gone in a flash

Forbidden Love
Kristen Marie Oct 2016
Forbidden love
It's a butterfly with no wings
It's a heart that can't beat
It's a song that never sings

Forbidden love
Makes you feel hurt inside
The stitches that keep your heart together are ripped at the seams
Makes evil, hurt and sin collide

Forbidden love
Is a love that we cannot have but lasts the longest
Is something you just can't control
And feels the strongest

Forbidden love
Why do you haunt me?
Why do you hurt?
Why can't you see?

I used to... But now I...
Kristen Marie Sep 2016
I used to turn away from the sun and spit out the water.
But now I bloom beautiful colors and the weather is hotter.

I used to stop in front of obstacles, turn and run.
But now it's obstacles zero and me one.

I used to be so small and weak.
But now I am strong and no longer meek.

I used to bottle up and be quiet.
But now I've turned the volume up and started a riot.

I used to hate and put myself down.
But now I remember whose daughter I am, pick myself up off the ground and straighten my crown.

Melancholy
Kristen Marie Sep 2016
Melancholy
Sad, sorrowful, somber
Makes you want to cry

Melancholy
Heartbroken, heartsick, hurt
And you don't even know why

Melancholy
Lock yourself in a box, become invisible, swallow the key

Melancholy
Won't you please go away
Leave me be...

Surrounded by what seems to be the same to each other, but different from me.
I feel so small.
With the slightest push I may fall.
I am drowning in what I feel I should be, what and who I am told I should be.
But I stare in the mirror and who is staring back is only me.
How do I become someone, something I am not?
I think the beauty of difference and uniqueness is only something that everyone has forgot.
The inside is what's real.
Who goes to the cover to find out if they lived happily ever after?
But that's just how I feel.

My Face Is Not The Cover Of A Book. So Why Is That The Place People Go First To Look? You Don't Know Me By My Eyes, You Don't Know Me By My Size, You Don't Know Me By My Color. Society Is Telling You Lies. Look Above And Beyond. See True Beauty. Look, And That Will Show You, Someone So Innocent And So True. Not Seeing From The Eye, But From The Heart Is A Good Place To Start.
