Be My Chapter

I want to be a chapter in your life.
Is it so much for me to ask?
I want to be the favourite chapter
That you anticipate for every time,
But being just A chapter will do.
Let our histories interact,
If only for a while.
We might just be the plot twists
That set the story on fire.

Be but a chapter, nothing more,
For my story revolves around another face,
But our stories aren't on the same page yet.
So be my chapter while I wait,
Keep the story interesting.
I've learned in poetry,
Not every piece...
Is a masterpiece*!

No duct tape, rope or burlap sack
will ever silence you.
Go out there and say what you feel
because people will appreciate you.
Those that gag you gag themselves
with your lost breaths.
We have the amendment of free speech
so why not use it?
Our society is so worried about swear words that they are not getting the
big picture.
What we need is change and the only way that will happen is if we
*speak up.

It was the 15th day of September
that is when it all fell apart
it was then on that very dreaded Monday
that you sat down and broke my heart

Sorrow attacked me like it was the plague
it made for my very worst Fall
I cried when I tired to see the color in the leaves
I slumped when I tried to stand tall

December came and December went
and still I could not feel
there were lights and love all around me
but I could not find Christmas cheer

February saw a month of pain
this feeling I could not shake
and with every stupid, flaming beat of my heart
I could feel it ache

Spring came like it promised it would
brought with it flowers and rain
and the third day into May I awoke
and my heart, it felt no pain

All of a sudden I did not feel angry
I certainty did not feel blue
because the third day into May my dear
was the day that I stopped loving you

Wednesday
Moth wings fluttering against my cheekbones
you are warmth
you are light

I am standing at the edge of this ocean
watching the galaxy pool around me

I do not care if it is a halo or horns
you have hiding out beneath your hat

It does not matter to me if you have shoulder blades
where your wings should be

We can press our bones together for all of eternity
We can be an archeological discovery

Love buried in ash
You are forever all I will need
Big Bird, a rare, fine brand
Taking off to air from land
Flapping her wings in midair
She soared, into despair.

We waited in your nest
But you vanished from the rest
Drowning hearts amid tears
Birthing panic, pain and fears.

What happened to you Big Bird?
Your voyage got so weird!
We awaited your return,
But our hopes, time has burned!

Two hundred and thirty-nine
Burning candles ceased to shine
Times like this I ask, "God WHY?"
As hearts and souls, melt and cry!*
