Your face is always into sunshine;
It gives hope and clear aura to everyone.
The way your eyes say Hi whenever you smile;
It lessens up a bad vibe not just for awhile.

You are clothed with strength and dignity.
And you laugh without fearing the future and reality.
In the darkest days of your life;
I know you’ll stand tall to find the sunlight.

You won’t bloom to where you’ve planted.
I know you’ll explore more to get started.
It’s your goal for a better life to get;
Pursuing to reach your dreams and to be contented.

You are a flower that will not wither.
It’s because you know how to get yourself watered.
Even in cloudy days turned rainy.
You still know how to make yourself shiny.

Your influence is like spreading seeds;
Planting good vibes to the ones who are in need.
You are a sunshine that lightens up a day.
A sunflower that smiles, feeling like summer.

This is for you,
you know who you are,
sat listening to this from a star.

How I grieve for you,
and wish you were here.
I promise I will shed, only a tear.

A brother, a son, a grandchild,
taken from us far too soon
you are missed with each passing moon.

Our Father was stubborn,
unknown to me for eighteen,
if only I knew him when I was thirteen.

I know your pain has gone,
in heaven you are saving me a seat,
so that one day brother and sister can finally meet.

Another poem for my brother Harrison who died of Cerebral Palsy in 2012.
If I make the statement “I want to die”
Would you even bother to ask why?

“Why not die”
I would reply

There is no reason I should stay
Just to suffer one more day

To live in grief and misery
Pain and anguish smother me

It doesn’t seem so hard to choose
Either way I’m destined to lose

I think I should just take my life
I need to make sure I do it precisely right

One mistake and here I will stay
If they find me alive, they will put me away

Here comes a nurse, where the heck am I?
Am I alive, or did I already die?

imara
let the bridges crumble into ash and dust.
let the stars fear our brilliance.
let the rest of the world drown out what lies beyond
the barricade.
lay down your arms -
i am almost yours.
you need only to surrender.
Let us build a fort
and fill it with love.
