We melt like aborted McDonald's ice,
on top of a blistering, gum-stamped lot,
under the sour heat of the Sun.

I'm boy wonder and you're, 'Boy, how is he alone?'

Olive-skinned cardigan, pearl pores.
Hair like ink and a jaw-line sharp enough to cut an umbilical cord.

Vintage Nikes come to a point,
the swoosh as red as the cherry at the end of your cigarette.

I watch you smoke and choke,
before calling phantoms over.
It begins like October:
The leaves fall, like your friends steps,
the bronze sweeps the air,
like the curls of their smiles,
the air is silent,
like your words as they condense and drop into the mouth of a tanned canyon.

I once read a post that said
something along the lines of
“I do not trust people
who tell me ‘I love you’
and yet do not love themselves.”

And that hurt my heart, it really did.

Who are you to invalidate my love?

Do you not know
of the sleepless nights I have spent,
laboring over my sins of the day?
Knowing that sometimes
I may never repent?
With past regrets
and paranoid overthinking,
how do I rest?

Do you not know
of how I avoid looking in mirrors
throughout the day,
or how I hate looking
at myself in the shower?
Don't you know how
conflicted I feel when lying
naked and vulnerable with my lover?

Do you not know
what it feels like to apologize
for who you are?
Or to have all of
your efforts and ethics
invalidated and dismissed?

If you do not trust me then so be it,
but do not reject the idea that I can love.
I know what it means to have
neither hope nor acceptance,
I know what it means
to regret my existence.

I know what it feels like
at 4am with all the lights out
with the absolute conviction
that I am entirely worthless.

I know **** well
what it feels like to be unloved.
Does that not make my love
*mean that much more?

Your twilight moons
white irises, that flicker
within the nights confines
clasp at the velvet darkness
pulling the stars into orbit
obtaining galaxies of their own
feeding a universal luster
eclipsing at the sight of dawn
In my twenty three years

I have never experienced
hunger
thirst
war
or a loss so great
that its crippling effects have consumed me.

I may know a little bit about
awe
disappointment

but who really knows

Aren’t we all running on

I am missing out
like my life is incomplete

We all move at our own pace in life

Rumi - born to native Persian speaking parents in 1207.
Died 1273 AD.
Rumi (an evolutionary thinker) believed passionately in the use of music, poetry and dance as a path for reaching God.
I'm not saying I'm contented with the past
I think the future is a gamble and means
Forgetting all the chapters, the good and the bad
The easy and the hard, the clear and the blurred
And what's more, the friends and family, my blood
I'm not saying I should not move on and It's all I want to do
But where is "on"? Is it north, South, East or west?
Is "on" up so that I can construct wings or is it down
So that I can gather the tools of strength and start digging?
I'm not implying I enjoy the nightmares of knowing it was all *******
But I just cannot plough through this in an instant like a mad ox
I don't even mean you know nothing about the pain of a loss
Your loss was your way and,I mine,knowing don't me you understand
I'm not saying you haven't been there and seen it all
All I ask for is more time to ounce by ounce lift this burden off my chest
Wash my mind in forgiveness and cleanse my soul
I'm not asking you to get so upset and leave
But It's your choice,you can stay and watch me grieve
I appreciate you being kind and beautiful
That's why lying that I'm over it will make me a fool
I'm not saying I want to embrace the memories like I'm cursed
All I'm trying to say is some stories are best sellers
