Okay,
so pour me another and say that again?
Billions of people believe in a myth
A tale
A story
A fear to make them scared and tense
A belief with no actual evidence
A God so different to everybody else, starting war without sitting on the fence
And you want me to believe this?
Okay,
Pour me another and say that again...

Erring on the edge of contemplation
Those deepest thoughts released from their station
Running astray without an end game
Released from their pit, now wild not tame
How can I sleep knowing these are now free
All forgotten when you awake,
tiredly stirring my tea

A.M. Thoughts

JJB
This is a poem to the woman of whom I spoke
My words often inspire her, but sometimes make her choke
As we leave on a sad day from Sandy Conservative Club
He was a one and only, her sibling, her Thom, her bruv
Most of the poems I write should be deleted or thrown into a hole
But some words of encouragement are gratefully greeted,
and for this, I thank you Doll.

A Love of Letters

Some are broke and some just crumble
A heated row from a misheard mumble
Fall from grace that fell into a stumble
Kissed the wrong sort that led to that fumble

Let's rebuild this bridge and let our waters again ripple
A bottle of plonk, possibly a Pinot Grigio
As differences can be rebuilt after a chat and a tipple

See, that's how bridges often burn
So let's get it out in the open,
and give at another turn

Broken Bridges

We all tick to a different tock
Couples match but some are odd socks
One loves opera the other heavy rock
From Indie Bripop onto hip-hop
Out on a Saturday,
She in jeans
Him in her frock
We all get on by any means given
And that's just it my friend
Got to enjoy the life we are livin'

Human

Guilty sleeping
Spent nights weeping
Thoughts constantly fleeting
Our last meeting
My heart still beating
Now broken and will need treating
As the songbird flies by
Your name, it will always be singing,

I miss you

I know I'm no oil painting and punch above my weight
But God loves a trier, as in life we make our own fate
Because the mirror ain't my friend, avoiding my reflection
I seize up quick, I seize up fast, not wanting no attention
Though some seem to revel in being a good looker
Broken nose, bashed out teeth, years me playing that rugby ******
It sometimes works with a certain type, the rough and tumble man
Not clean cut Ken, sunbed skin, always topping up his fake tan
It's good to be a normal bloke, not caring for too much in this world
Just to wake up happy, change my daughters *****,
and be in love with my one and only girl.
