Upon a beach of silken sand
Neath nighttime's wondrous skies
Stars aglow of heavens hand
Soft moon beams fill your eyes

With gentle seas awash the shore
The scent of ocean wind
A shooting star our smiles explore
As dreams once more begin

Now glistening on waters blue
A hypnotizing light
Illuminates this love so true
I feel for you this night

In solitude of gentle flow
The touch of fingertips
A canopy of evening glow
My kiss upon your lips

This universe is ours to hold
Amongst the stars we'll play
Of secrets now our hearts have told
Beneath the Milky Way
Her eyes spoke the words that her lips never said
As she lay there in silence curled up on the bed,
A solitary teardrop meandering her face
That fell from flushed cheeks onto bed sheets of lace.

With a vacant expression and hollowed out stare
Concealing the heartbreak and utter despair,
She clung to the pillow, so tight to her chest,
Upon which the head of her true love would rest.

The rose of her heart had succumbed to decay,
Faded, diminished, and withered away,
Blackened by misery, hardened through grief,
And drained of all passion by death's cunning thief.

Her once perfect world like those empires of old
Had crumbled to ruin, so desolate and cold,
No longer would love warm her soul like the sun
For the harshest of winters had now just begun.

In the recess of memory, precious and pure,
Her lover's last kiss would forever endure,
A comfort in sorrow and constant lament
Till the days of her own life are equally spent.
Upon the doorstep of today
I met a man on his way
To the the world of yesterday

I asked him why he'd return
To a day with nothing more to learn
All I got was a look ever so stern

There is more in the past
Which we miss with time so fast
So dig deep into your memory cast

In each memory there's something missed
Upon you forehead it could have kissed
Go for a walk down memory lane, I insist

But there is one place I shall go
Where we will meet and see a show
And that is the day of tomorrow
You think I'm a weird kid,
The kid who always says hi,
The person who'll treat u like a friend,
Even when u say goodbye.

You think I'm the athletic one,
With energy bursting through my veins,
The kid who actually likes gym,
Who'll feel no pains.

You think I'm the smart kid,
Who loves school so much,
The person who can't wait to study again,
Just because I get good grades and such.

You think I'm the artsy one,
Who draws all day long,
Who can write long stories,
And turn anything into a song.

Well, you think you know,
But I know you don't you see.
Because I'm not any of these,
All of them are me.

You judge by my clothes,
You judge by my style,
You judge by my achievements,
And by my smile.

So I trick you each and everyday.
Wearing these masks in every way,
So the true me you will never betray,
And yet you say you know me-cliché

Tashatha
Sometimes its a shame to be black
We claim we're in it together
But the unity we lack

We belittle each other
Even though we all came
From the same father

Our ancestors fought to bring us to where are now
But how we choose to separate each other is foul

Light skins and dark skins
Doesn't matter we still have black skin
We need to begin
To listen

Build our race
So that every black person is safe
Racism is still real
And I cannot begin to explain how I feel

The black race is still frowned upon
Because our values are lost and gone

Let us begin to better each other
Build each other
Help one another
To get farther

Teamwork is essential
We have to realise our potential

It is a shame
How we let each other suffer
It breaks my heart
To see hungry child lost by a mother
When we have rich people
Who are greedy
In their fast cars speeding
Having no conscience or feelings
Because they won't even give to the needy
Lord Jesus I'm screaming
Please change the world
Make everyone start believing
That africa can rise
If we stop ignoring the cries
Of the poor
Revitalise the land
Before it dies
I know we can
If we keep our eyes on the prize

We can build africa
Make africa a staple
If only we work together
Bring something bigger to the table

We were blessed to be born on this beautiful land
So let us join hands
And make africa
As big as we can
I just want not only africans but black people to stop being victims and make our race be more respected and accepted worldwide
My God holds the world in the palm of His hand
Keeps the sea back from invading the land
Captures the wind then sets it free
And still finds the time to spend time with me

He's the one who created the stars and set them in place
All seen and unseen is all that he's made
Placed the hidden line between day and night
Sharing this beauty by giving us life

His grace taught the flower to open in Spring
Taking in pleasure the beauty it brings
Sets into song all of the birds above
Doing this all out of His precious love

Bringing to wonder, the eyes of a child
As far off distant thunder speaks of His power
Giving His Son to us all so all could be free
As Jesus hung on the Cross He had in mind you and me

Yes my God does all, of this and more
Crown Him as King, Praise Him as Lord
His blessings beyond counting the grains of sand
As He holds it all in the palm of His hand
Some may have noticed I've been missing for the past few days...
Some maybe not. Lol!  I've felt I've lost focus in life and in poetry so I set out on a spiritual journey the first of the month...
I was planing on staying away the whole time but find it to difficult! I'll be popping in every now and then I guess but nothing like the madness that had a hold of me before I left. Blessings upon you my friends. See Ya!
What is it that makes one better
In this competitive world ?

What is it that makes one better,
In this creative world ?

What is it that makes one better
In this poetry world ?

What is it that makes your poem
Better than mine ?

Is it the cleverness of your rhymes,
Which fits so neatly into every line ?

Is it the complexity of one’s word
That portrays you as a “nerd”?

Is it the gender?
Or is it ones race?

Is it popularity ?
Or is it ones age ?

Is it experience ?
Because I think it has to do with willingness
And eagerness and how determined one is
Rather than the colour of skin

What makes you better than me ?
What makes you succeed?

Is it because of my background ?
Or is it because I’m not a tinge of brown?

Don’t judge me because of my frown,
That I wear and embrace like a crown .

I’m here too,
I have a purpose too

Don’t overlook me,
Don’t overlook us.

Give each a chance to S H I N E.
Daddy what ?
Did you just say you love me ?
Daddy, did you just touch me ?
But wait,
I’m not you size
I’m only three
Just treat me right.
Did you just tell me to be quiet ?
I’m smart daddy
And I know this is violence.
This is abuse
Because at times I’m refused
And what is it now daddy ?
Clean your shoes ?

Daddy stop,
I’m getting old,
I’m getting wiser,
Bigger and bold.
Sooner or later,
You’ll be exposed.
What ?
You’ll **** me, you’ll take my life ?
No daddy please,
I’m your only child.

What do you want daddy ?
I’m now fifteen
Don’t you think you’ve seen and had enough of me ?
Don’t you think it’s my time to be free ?
Haven’t you felt enough of my body ?
Aren’t you happy  you took my virginity ?
You took my innocence
I’m now left with insanity.
Don’t be mad just listen please!

Don’t beat me, I did nothing wrong,
From I was one
I’ve been singing this unhappy song.
Your scars are engraved over my skins
From your treacherous whip
You say you care,
But if this is care,
Please stop caring.
Not from personal experience. Based off what I've heard from friends and what i see on the news.
There was a day,
When my fingers could not keep count,
Of the number of friends I had.
But those days are like a fairytale,
Never to return again.

They’ve all slipped through my fingers,
And I’m sorry for what I’ve done.
Even though to me,
It’s unknown,
Like a mystery.
Maybe I should summon Nancy Drew.

What went wrong ?
Maybe I wasn’t good enough for you.
Maybe I was just too much for you,
Too overwhelming.
Maybe I was too much of a luggage for you to carry around,
Too emotional.
Maybe I got too heavy
And you decided to place me into the middle of the road-
To take on the whole world in my hands,
That can barely hold a dime,
-or just to watch the world move on.

Maybe I was just too dark,
And relied on that blade too much.
Maybe I’m not pretty enough,
And my scars are too scary for you.
Or maybe it’s because I’m
D   i   f  f  e  r  e  n  t,
Just maybe,
It’ll always be maybe because you just disappeared.
Without leaving a message or note.
If it’s just to say:
“Talk to you soon”,
Even if it’s not soon.
You just stopped saying “Hi”,
And stopped showing that you ‘cared’

I’m sorry for being me,
But it’s okay,
‘cause if I was in your place,
I wouldn’t even stop to say “Hello” to me.
