Thinking about your eyes
Looking at your ceiling
As you wait for sleep

Your hands
Your laugh
Your eyes
Those are the things that haunt me the most about you
And they haunt my poetry line to line

Wishing for arms that cant comfort
Arms wrapped warm around another
Two strands of spider web
Wrapping up the fly

Ink black seas
Spice ladden ships
Afternoons I spent watching
The boats dock and tie
And I imagined
One day
A boat would bring you to me
And my dreams of you will fall between the cracks in the dock
To swim forever with fish

My lungs are full of seaweed
Back upon the beach
Waves still reach up to lick
To my feet


Sunset spirals
Seashell seas
Salt crusted fingers
Crack in the heat
Lips bleeding thirst
A touch or kiss

Window latcher
Lightbulb catcher
Lover in a dream
Barefeet on hardwood floor
A warm bed
And
Above my head
Spiders build a thousand webs

i'll never again
look at any girl longingly

Shutup you don't know what love is
It's not something you put in a poem
Or a stupid metaphor about roses that are blooming
While others fall apart

I learned to keep my mouth shut a long time ago
Children seen and not heard
Keep that mouth shut and your ears open
And you learn a lot about the world
How people treat you and decieve you
And leave you for dead
Stop looking for good samaritains
They don't exist
Take why you can
The world is done when you die
