Questions
Jason McGill Oct 2013
When the night falls where will I be, Who will I be,
In life there are so many questions to which answers will not follow,
So many promises, all of which are hollow,
Words are wasted as time passes by,
When a world of doing is done all wrong,
When a world of trying is just failing,
When giving up is your option in everything you do,
Where will you find the strength you know is inside you.

Falling
Jason McGill Jul 2013
As we walked to the edge and looked over the side,
It wasn't for us. It wouldn't be for us.
As we stood, I slipped and fell, only to land on a ledge,
Safe for now.
Again, it happened. Safe for then.
How far down am I now?
You meet me as I fall, but I continue to do it.

A flower, A vase.
Jason McGill Jul 2013
A vase collects dust until there is the perfect flower,
It is more than just a vase then.
It is a life preserver, without the vase the flower would not survive.
A flower is just a flower until it finds the perfect vase.
It is more than just a flower then.
It is the meaning of life, without the flower the vase would only collect dust.
*I'll hold the water you need to survive, you'll be my reason to live.

The Book.
Jason McGill Jul 2013
Bound by skin with tissue pages within,
You are my book.
I read you, I am no stranger to your ways.
I need no foreshadowing,
I see further ahead day by day.
Filled with empty pages, but hardly a blank canvas,
Through all the dust covers, I can still see what lies within,
I read you, I am no stranger to your ways.

The Island
Jason McGill Jul 2013
In the sea of pearl water, the one of red rivers, there is an island,
The island of the most beautiful light green vegetation,
In the middle of the island is a dark hole, it changes from size to size, each second,
As I wander in the trees, I feel the ground shake, as if it is speaking to me.
I understand so much as I wander throughout the island.
There is much to explore, many deep caverns, many nooks and even crannies.
Some days it rains, some days there is an unbelievable shine.
I live here, this is my home.
I will never leave.
I have lit a fire and set up camp, I have fed the fire all the dry wood I have found,
Never letting it die out, resources are hard to find at the moment.
I will not give up in my journey; I stare into the hole in the island for the answers.
*They always come.
