My grandpa
             Words he gave
To me once upon a full moon
“Son” he said
“When you go into this life”
“Remember, that love is a language “
“So find, my son, find someone”
                     “Who speaks your language “
“So you don’t have to translate your soul”
                                   Hmmm.

SHE
She's lonely, but she seems happy
She's tired, but she moves forward
She's down, but she doesn't drown
She's hopeless, but she's not careless

They say she's pretty,
but she feels ugly
They say she's smart,
but she feels dumb
They say she's talented,
but she feels incompetent
They say she's strong,
but she feels weak

She has no one, but she ain't gone
And that she,

**Is me.

DEPRESSION
..

A wire round your neck...
Unable to scream..
It gets tighter.
And you just watch yourself being consumed...
Only wishing to be consumed by a hug..
Not this Depression.

Strapped to a chair...
Beaten and broken down..
You forget who you are, what you enjoy, you become unrecognizable.
Numb to positivity...
It is a nightmare, to only disappear in a crowd..
To only be consumed once again.

By this monster
Called Depression

Self love is important
because it is impossible
to love someone else when
you can't even love yourself
so take a step back, and
look at yourself
and love yourself
because in the end you're all
you really have
snow on the leaves
and
leaves on the snow
frost on the moon
o'er
a red and green glow
the evening is silent
whilst
I trim up the tree
a warm fuzzy fire
and
Vince Guaraldi
hot cocoa in hand
I
look out through the glass
and softly reflect
on
Christmastimes past

this is my happiness tonight

It's not that I want to leave,
it's that I have to go.
It's not that I don't love you,
it's because I love you so.
It's not that I can't tell you yes,
it's that I have to tell you no.
It's not your fault, or mine, or his,
but still I have to go.

The glory of nature
in all of its transformations
the dawning of consciousness
the surrender of love
the struggle for survival
the dance between
the  light and darkness

The meteor shower
the child's first step
the child's first smile
the cocoon unspun
the spider's daily web
the many mornings
come and gone

This observer of
what is and what is not
consumed with awe

Melting solids
to dust
liquid to vapors
riding life's lightening
thunder's laughter

From oppression to freedom
From slumber to wisdom

The glory of all nature
instantaneous and gone
the ink on the page
the sun gone nova
the event horizon
random particles
converge into being
dissipate and defuse
from movement to entropy
ashes to ashes
stardust to stardust

The poet ever singing
the glory of transformations.
