He was just five
When you were gone
From a cool-off drive
Each day he waits, heavier his feet on the lawn.

His eyes set sight
At the familiar swing
Everything’s not right
Without you, his wings
You promised him
You’d read him stories.

Eventually stars dimmed
Without the sun
Forming a dust stream
Of sadness, weighs a tonne.

Fight crimes and save lives

With superpowers, one day

Might save the planet!
Jacob Dec 2015
We were smooth like butter kisses
no longer
My lips curled in disdain
for your luscious lips
A distaste for fond memories
of us, now bittersweet
It no longer matters
since the butter is burnt
Jacob May 2016
When she cries, tears never meant to be shown,

Fiddles with wishbone at one corner,

The dark night in armor afraid of needles,

Horror murmurs gentle,

Dressed in black willow petal,

Flowing tears caress

For the perfect recipe
Two cups of all-purpose flour
Let's get started
One cup of butter
Makes it creamy
One fresh egg
Binds us strong
Half teaspoon of vanilla
Your luscious lips
Quarter teaspoon of salt
My love is hydroscopic
And less sugar
I don't need more

She stands firm
Often she dances
To the wind
She yearns for
An audience

Her stories
Often ignored by
Passers-by en route
To their final destinations

Occasional visiting bees
She welcomes
Not stray hands
She knows
She'll be lay to rest
Helpless
In a vase
Jacob Oct 2015
Vision is clear
And the skies lovely
Chase the falling leaves
Never the birds above

Not born with wings
We raise the sun
Chase never a race
When we digress

We aren’t wandering souls
Still young though
To chase on
Till we die
Jacob Mar 2015
What is left?
Cookie crumbles
And breaks apart
With milk
And a broken heart
Soggy with emotions
Heavy it sinks.

What is next?
A fatal attraction
Of two individuals
Sooner they collide
Faster they'll die.

Love, his words
Like his sunken heart
From the deep bottom
And she: his love
To reach in
And picks him up.

Love, her words
Like her broken soul
Fatality ensures
And he: her love
He embraces her
For the collision.

Untouched sand they once were
Blew away, the gentle wind sings
Settled on the dandelions fur
Or somewhere far it brings
Out the window twilight greets
Song birds and honey bees
Shall gather around for treats
And the dandelions will open with ease

You and me,

In troubled waters we struggle,

We shouldn't go deep,

Cold nights we snuggle,

And talk about life's steep,

Under the warm blanket.

You and me,

Till we descent.
Jacob Nov 2015
She listens on
to the melody void of octaves
A phantom grasping under uncertainty
Reality handed her a flaming torch
Her dress billows in the breeze
as she burns herself free
disarrayed by flames.

Don’t be afraid
My silly child
Monsters are soft, suede
Like teddy, just wild

Don’t be afraid
Of monsters hiding under bed
Nightmares will fade
When the Sun rises, monsters dread

Don’t be afraid
Of the howling dawn
Weaving my love into braids
I LEFT THE STOVE ON!
Jacob Mar 2015
Wind and laziness

Dust and lint swept under rug

to be uncovered.

End
The end of your train ride
You alight, I board
We briefly coincide
The start of my train ride
I'm never bored
A sight of you, my eyes wide
Open, door closes
#end #you

Whoever speaks with fear,

His life slowly creeps

Into the breaths near

The lioness’s lips.
Jacob Oct 2015
I'd love to see a firefly
Each night before I sleep
Illuminate my blanket sky
When countless sheep
Take turns to leap
I wish for a firefly
For the children that weep
Their tears would dry
When they see a firefly
Jacob Apr 2015
To the flower
That would never had the chance
To bask in the next summer sun
I hope you will enjoy
The coming winter
Jacob Apr 2015
His smiles and laughter
Were everything to her
If he could understand
One day he would.

He would soon outgrow
His squeaky shoes
And his boy vest
His favorite ride now too small.

Wrinkles and grays
Worked their shifts against time
Or a reminder
Of her selfless love?

His smiles and laughter
Never change
He will always be
Her little boy.

Countless thoughts of you,
The moments we had, flew -
Away, looking out the window -
The view we shared, now's a limbo.

I'm doing well,
Often my mind dwell on the past,
You and me, meant to last,
I was wrong.
Thinking about you all along.

Hope you're well.
Jacob Mar 2015
Those spoken words
From her lips,
Those weren't easy words,
She writes them down
In her journal,
As the day goes by
Her cursive written words,
Between punctuations
Imprinted in fiber
With the random doodles,
Are her rehearsal.
Taking on her maiden step,
A journey with him,
He will fill in the journal
With her.

What reason it shall gives
when the dead leaves
It used to live
Through the seasons
Green it was
Staying alive, only reason
To age, beauty pauses
Still beautiful
Leaves
Jacob Mar 2015
The memories
Good or bad
Frame by frame
As light enters
Into his eyes
A broken camera
Resting on his heart
Jacob Mar 2015
At this exact instant,
The distance
These words race,
My heart chase
After that beautiful smile,
Even if it takes a little time; I'll run the miles.
From me to you
What're you up to?

Flower
Missing
A few petals
Ripped off
By rough wind
Jacob Mar 2015
One day,

I'll lose you

You'll be gone.

Today I'm glad

There is today.

And tomorrow

I dread,

It might be that one day.
Jacob Mar 2015
Walking along the path
Passing streetlight sentinels
They stood at attention
Soon they will be relieved
When dawn arrives
Taking a well deserved rest
With the dull cat
Sleeping during the day
Walking along the path
I'm reaching home.
Jacob Nov 2015
She was dainty
Treading the lush meadows
Her soft petals mellowed
Under the summer sun
Lost amidst the wild flora
Tired of the attention
She took an autumn slumber

Can I
Take you on a walk
And pick you a flower on the side
That common flower will be yours
To admire

Can I
Sing you a song
A song I learned by heart
That common song will be yours
To listen

Can I
Trust you to keep
Something of mine
My only heart will be yours
To cherish
Jacob Mar 2015
The lush green tree of yesterday
With the demise of fall leaves,
Hold it's ground
In the soil of today.
His heart
Stay rooted in his love
For her.
He shall wait
For next spring,
Expecting her return
Back to him.
Jacob Mar 2015
Stay still
While I observe
What makes me
Love you
If time could
Stay still
And truly observe
Love is
Timeless

River fishes swim,

Struggle against the currents

Or escaping from us?
Jacob Mar 2015
When the sunshine is no more
We two parted
The sun sets out to explore
Leaving behind the sky deserted
This moment which I dread and fear
I'm prepared, I will be fine
I fell sheer
Into the thin creak of sunshine
I realised, the sunshine is no more
It doesn't takes long for aches and sores
To break my body right at it's core
When the sunshine we loved is no more
Jacob Mar 2015
Her tears scared of love
Glistering in the moonlight
Like the many stars above
Shining bright like rhythmic lights
Dancing to the cold wind
Feeling free like she always is
Fending away wolves, fragile like a hind
With good night vision, she sees with ease
Superficial wounds she nurse
Deep cuts of the heart
Blessing or a curse
Slowly tearing her apart
Jacob Mar 2015
Platter of anger,
Tastefully sweet
Like honey; amber
delightful treat.
Red, orange and yellow hues,
Emotions linger,
Boiling water brew,
Leftover cinders,
When the day is new
My love stay true.
Jacob Mar 2015
Mandarin oranges

In pair, Intertwined with love

Sweetness be with you!
Jacob Mar 2015
There is a girl
On a swing,
The sun shines on her shoulder blade,
There are no angel wings.
Forward she swings
Against the gentle wind,
She tilts her head
To her sides,
There! Momma and Papa!
Jacob Mar 2015
She sits gracefully,
On the crescent moon,
Alone she sings aloud,
Kicking lunar debris
In between tempo,
Barely scratches the surface.

Stars and satellites,
Natural or artificial,
Making connection without strings
Somehow still holds on tight.

Her voice beacons across space,
Fills the gap of aloneness
Perhaps her heart too.
Jacob Mar 2015
Tonight
I promised you
The stars will belong to us
And the Moon watching from above
Never out of sight
As we take a stroll down the path
With night lanterns hung up
Specially for you
In replace for the Sun
I can’t promise you
Tonight
Jacob Mar 2015
Your voice
Resounding
I can hear it
With my eyes closed
Comforting
I can feel it
With my ears shut
The wind
I listen to
To find your voice everytime
Jacob Mar 2015
When it rains
People run to take cover
In single, in pairs or in groups

The bus stop
Now filled with people
Not waiting for buses
Now's a shelter

The coffee shop
Now packed with people
Ignoring the rain
And the once warm seats
Now wet and cold outside

When it rains
I will hold your hand
We'd put on rain boots
And dance outside.
Jacob Mar 2015
Whispering in your ears
If that brings me closer to you
So will my love
Embraces you
Tightly
Jacob Mar 2015
Close my eyes
Whistling to the melody
Your distant powerful cries
My feet in your shoes I have empathy
When I put myself in
I see darkness
Nothing within
You, perfection
When I open my eyes, I'll complete
Your projection
With my heartbeat.
Jacob Mar 2015
Imagine a world without water,

How're we going to quench our thirst?

Would there still be laughter,

When a water balloon burst?
Jacob May 2016
Writing sadness on paper's white,

Empty canvas and endless graphite,

Heartbreaks whom to mend?

Dawn awakes, my love, penned.
