I
I am not,
Who I want to be.

I am not,
Who you think you see.

I am not,
Yet journey done.

I am not,
Such a simple one.

I am,
A changing thing.

I am,
Soon to take wing.

I am,
A strong soul.

I am,
Willing to take the toll.

A writer has her own perspective
Her own point of view
Her own way of interpreting things

Never judge
how a writer does her works
You have no right

You are not God
You are just one
of his million creations

Stop putting rules
on how one should write
her own poem

Because her mind is hers
Her heart is hers
And her poem is her
Please, sir. Stop being so immature.

Lets pretend,
we're still friends.

Lets pretend,
you don't avoid my eye.

Lets pretend,
When you saw me,
you didn't look to your left,
tease your hair
and stare behind you as I went passed.

Lets pretend
When you saw me doing work,
you didn't mutter 'fa**et' under your breath.

lets pretend,
when I asked where you were going,
you didn't hear me.

Lets pretend,
I don't see that look of denial
every time I speak

Lets pretend,
everything is fine.

Lets pretend
we're still friends

you
I fell in love
with the way
your eyes light
up when you
speak, the way
your shirt falls
across your
chest.
I grew
accustomed
to your
fingers
brushing
occasionally
against mine,
the way your
feet moved as
we walked
side-by-side

is indifferent to
oranges
and longs for those
