the anatomy of melancholy
Hannah Nov 2015
there's melancholy in the nighttime that's very appealing
as a nocturnal owl, i find great comfort in the dark
so peaceful and silent like everything is put on mute
it makes you feel infinite, unrestrained
one of the few good feelings in life
inspired by the one and only: Zbigniew Preisner-Silence, Night and Dreams

The angry poem.
Hannah Nov 2015
you filthy dog, go lick some bones.
it doesn't hurt, throw your stones.
even roses, have some thorns.
it won't ***** you, just come close.
think you're tough, you're just a clone.
weak as a bug, despite your horns.
cut your wings, you cry and moan.
don't act almighty, when you're prone.
you don't terrify me, I'm all grown.
on head of a prince, a crown once shone.
but only a king, can take the throne.

sultan of swing
Hannah Nov 2015
it's fascinating how our moods swing
back and forth, from dark to light
from gloomy to cheerful
from suicidal to bubbly
from hate to love
from anxious to calm
Hannah Nov 2015
we seldom stop and say,
"that's my father who raised me to this day."
we take things for granted,
and forgot that with their gentle touch;
we were once enchanted;
like a modern day Cornelius, (Agrippa)
with each story he tells,
you figure he's a misunderstood genius.
i love you father although i don't say it enough, you're my unsung hero.

part two: the city
Hannah Nov 2015
the city is a beautiful place
it's a place for the lonely and the hurt
you go when you need people and meet friends
going to a bar and listening to great music, the greatest
smoking cigarettes like there's no tomorrow
talking long walks in streets you feel like home
watching the neon lights light up the city
trying new foods from different ethnicities

requiem
Hannah Nov 2015
lying in a fortress of solitude
would you dare bare it all?
or you'd back out cause,
it will lead to your downfall?
hiding is your major flaw;
going in circles of self-perpetuating
frailties, you'll break like a straw

dear death, you are woe
with a scythe in disguise
inspirations: Zbigniew Preisner-Requiem for my friend
Mozart-Lacrimosa

hate machine
Hannah Nov 2015
Fueled with hate
Everyone thinking that this gate
Is the way to defeat
Or combat perpetrators
Negativity fills the air
As if no God is there
Selfishness will eat you
From inside out
You can't afford to
Live without a soul you,
Should prepare for the worst
But only hope for the best

part one: nature
Hannah Nov 2015
nature. nature has never failed me
never made me angry or sad,
always containing me like the mother it is
there's something soothing and so magnificent about nature
watching a dark forest lit by moonlight
watching green moss and foggy nights
watching scattered clouds in the sky
watching the stars as the light up the sky,
and feeling safe that there's a man in the moon watching over us,
with an ever sad and lonely gaze upon the earth
watching the waves as they come and go;
hitting with gigantic force the brick blocks
watching the road on a summer's day;
sitting in a car going as fast as the wind
watching your skin shiver as a gentle breeze passes
watching the grass and the trees and the flowers dancing with the wind
watching the birds chirping and being alive
listening to the rain pouring down wetting the streets and everything
watching the night envelope itself with a certain chill
yes, nature. nature that made me cry once......with joy.

lobotomized teen
Hannah Nov 2015
I feel very fake when I'm spilling my guts
Sometimes i feel that I am going nuts
The challenge of holding on to my soul
Maybe tougher than I ever thought
Refusing conformity and rebelling on the norms
Has been my sole purpose in my years of living
Because being different in a country like mine
equates to being mentally insane
So sick of being prejudiced and scrutinized
I feel like a shadow sometimes, invisible
So translucent and immune to people's judgment
Newbies will suffer in this world
They're better off in the womb

gradually, then suddenly
Hannah Nov 2015
i haven't experienced any type of emotion for a while;
haven't got too angry, too sad, too anxious
neither did i get too happy, too calm, too relaxed
as if all emotions faded into a black hole inside my heart.
have all my attempts to conceal my feelings triumphed?
if that's the case, i don't want to be a winner, i want.....i need to lose.
*it's that thin line between being too emotional and too emotionless;
a bipolar effect.

ouch

14 word woe

I'm not living my life the way i want and it kills me.
