We met
in a half remembered dream.
With clouds beneath our feet,
and stars in an amethyst sky,
yet you were the realest thing.

And I wonder
if dreams could come true,
and if it was an old memory,
perhaps from another lifetime.

But until then
it's what you'll remain to me,
a wonderful mystery.
Inspired by a story I read involving someone having dreams from his past and all the bittersweetness that come with it.
Don't make of your wife
Your home decor article.
Let her be
Your sun that
Never stops shining.
Be her  moon.
tragedy,
like joy,
is built
in tiny
parts,

you can never
track
just how
it happened.

life is full of swallow hazards,
plastic pieces,
straight lines,
sharp edges.
Saying goodbye
To someone you love
Is like reading the final page
Of an amazing book.

As the last chapter ends
You begin to notice
Just how beautiful
And perfect
The plot always was.

You appreciate the joy
And even the pain
As you read and thumb
Through every page.

Finally understanding
The moral of the story,
You realize you've reached
The end of this journey.

Although the last sentence
Is the most difficult to read
Another great book awaits
Once you turn the final page.

Eventually you may stumble
Upon yet another great find.
Or maybe you'll return
To the book you left behind.

You may just discover
Once all is said and done
That this particular book
Was your favorite story
All along.
For Ty & Des ❤️
My face is full of laughter
My eyes are dried of tears
But there's fine print
You must read
Burned there from
All the years.

My cheeks are red & rosey
My lips turned up in smiles
But there are lines
Of grief and pain
From walking many miles.

Please take me at face value
For I laugh... I'm laughing still!
But I've endured
Much hardship
For it was God's will.

But if I had not suffered
This peace I'd not enjoy
If I had not known sorrow
I would not fathom Joy!

See the fine print on my face
Those lines that I do wear
Read wisdom in
My countenance
Yes, it is written there.

To every man or woman
Who have known this part
You may have lines
Upon your face

But beauty's in your heart!

God given songs to angelic tunes
Holier anthems for reflective moods
Soul searching music with eternal themes
Songs from our hearts that harbour old dreams
Movements in light, emerging from dark
Sunrising symphonies, the thrush and the lark
I welcome the chorus here at my dawn
I rise and I stretch and then I press on
Spring is a great time for the dawn chorus.  Even in the city.

Sometimes
what's offered is enough.
Sometimes
what's needed is less
than you anticipated
and you can live
with yourself after all.
Little girl with golden locks.
Little girl with big blue eyes.
Little girl.
So full of woe.
In a church of stained glass windows.
The Church of the Messiah.

Mommy decks the altar with flowers.
Daddy is out and about.
The little girl stares reverently
at the beautiful window.
Sunlight lights up Jesus the Good Shepherd.
A little lamb is in His arms.
Close to His chest.
Close to His heart.
Is He MY Good Shepherd? the little girl whispers.
Am I His little lamb?

The little girl is now alone in the sanctuary.
With the Shepherd's eyes upon her.
Lights streams through the
stained glass aperture.
It falls upon her small face.
Then a Voice speaks into her depths:
"You are My child, and you will belong
to Me for your whole life."
The little girl is struck.
With awe and wonder.
At her Shepherd's voice.
For now she knows,
and will forever know,
that she is
His little lamb.

I believe baubles have way too much glitter,
That another new year won't make it all better.

I believe turkey tastes bland without stuffing,
That my secret santa was better than nothing.

That rich Christmas pud needs plenty of cream,
That thin paper hats are as cheap as they seem.

I believe parties can get out of hand,
That still silent nights need to be planned.

I believe Christmas can bring people down,
That relentless fake smiles hide many a frown.

That without the real Jesus it's a real waste of time,
That if He was here He'd call it a crime:

The way we ignore those under our feet,
The times we brush past the poor on the street.

Jesus just cries to see our behaviour,
So far from the path He set as our Saviour.

So this Christmas ask Jesus to soften your heart
He'll give you forgiveness and bring a fresh start.

You can live with new hope and sing with new meaning,
Dont waste any more time with any more dreaming.

Happy Christmas to all and to all my best wishes,
May your Christmas be more than merry wet kisses.

May the God of this Christmas visit this year
And give you good reason to be of good cheer.
Mixed feelings about Christmas. Try this out loud in a cockney accent.
Reciting Flanders Field,

My tears soak this hallowed ground,

Single red Poppy tribute,

A remembrance of those fallen.

I stand in silence ………

And silence speaks when words cannot.
