...We've got nothing but
our selfish belief
and the weakness deep within
We embraced reality like a
fabricated story
with a fabricated
happy ending
told by the world and the things
that gave us reasons to
blame
Running from things that
never existed was
our light in the night to find
home
we
never had
In the end
we took refuge in a dusty
old
basement
and hoped the winter
would never
come...

Clouds form in the untouched skies
Rain falls as the angles cry
Tormenting those below
There's no sun, it won't show
Disbelief and dispair
Grey winds through brown hair
Broken grounds all littered by tears
Twisted trees all soaked in fear
Goodbye, goodbye summer haze
Say goodbye to them days
The cold snow and thunder storms
I'll miss the days when it was warm

Sub Rosa
I gaze into the mirror
where I have seen so many faces.
But I still haven't seen
my own.
Though her eyes are jeweled crystals,
She is the annotation of a valid *****.
Asinine men still don't envision,
She is the offspring of Satan.

Women see her true form,
Underneath that pallid, limp skin.
With lipstick as red as strawberries,
The masquerade is precisely blood from the virtue.

Animals snarl at her without awe,
Yet she's the carnivore.
Her black crinkling hair covers her coyness,
Only to ****** the prey in the hotel room at dusk.

I let the glow of the headlights
and the glow in your eyes
guide us home.

Faint chords of an old rock song
drifting out the radio,
your breath
fogging the window

You, me,
a billion points of light
hanging above our tired heads.
And then you whispered quietly to me:

"These are the moments I remember."
The cream of your voice
Dragged me back from the clouds
and I turned to you.

"these are the moments I live for."
The slight furl of your lips
and the reflection of the moon in your eyes
hurled me back into my daydreams.

And then we were silent.
And the world felt right.
it feels like
just yesterday
we locked eyes for the first time;
slipping words and stories
into one another
with kisses;
and reading into each other,
trying to uncover
our deepest secrets
in the smallest crevices of our minds.
it seems like just yesterday
when i didn't know what to say
a nervous laugh escaped me.
just yesterday i spent hours
memorizing a song
only to impress you
and just yesterday
we spent a full day four wheeling,
finding beauty in mud covered faces
in the northern woods.
just yesterday i learned
you love having your back scratched
and you hate having your picture taken.
yesterday i discovered
your great love for poetry
and your amazing talent in it.
just yesterday you wrote me a beautiful poem that
to this day, still drains my tear ducts.
you taught me confidence
and you taught me to love myself and
not give a **** what anyone says
about me,
or you,
or us.

how strangely wonderful it is to think
"just yesterday,"
was almost nine months ago!
tomorrow my boyfriend and I will have been dating for nine months :)
I just kinda decided **** it, I'm gonna post this!
