Never broken
Quick to wake
Nor will I falter
I simply won't shake
Oh! Rustle me such
As much you so please
For I forever stand tall
Rising above dis-ease
Cradling new heights
Do forget and reach me

Dreams of Sepia
***** faced angels in leather
swinging off neon signs
inside my head
I wanna get on that highway
& drive to
the motel of lost hopes
retrieve my teenage dreams
with a broken bottle
get me to the USA
Californian beaches
Louisiana swamps
Beatnik bums
all the things
that have called to me
in my head
not like other little girls
I never played with dolls
always dreaming of playing with fire
on the long dusty road
spitting out ghost shrapnel of Iron curtain
barbed wire
& I got lost in a Berlin subway once
& dreamed
I was in New York
It's when you lose the possibility of fulfilling your dreams that you cling to them the most.

What belongs to us
other than the self
we frightfully lay claim to
buried and heaped upon
by the thoughts and opinions of society
judging our wealth
to be less than our value.
Words do not belong to us
we lose ownership in the act of speaking
and hearing ears that gather them up
only capable of reinterpreting
the gift or the curse.
We belong to ourselves
and nearly to each other
caged by the sameness
of the struggle to exist.

Hold me close, it's so cold
Make the first move, I'm not that bold
This cold weather do I loathe
So with your warm skin clothe
Me
Be
My covering tonight
No honey, let's not fight
Arguments do us no good
Be it about money or food
Hold me tonight
Hold me till the morning light

Just keep on
selling myself
until the pieces
are gone.
