Melinda Sordino.
Trevon Haywood Jan 2019
She is a miserable girl I've ever seen in my own life.
She is friendless and an outcast because of something that happened over the summer.
Also, she has the wrong hair, the wrong clothes, the wrong attitude and she don't have anyone to sit with because she is the only outcast and I'm not.
And she needs to get her act and a better life together before something happens again.
She even had an ex-best friend named Rachel Bruin because she is the only girl she ever met in high school and she always hate her so much.
And the only thing is that being friendless and an outcast is NOT a good thjng here jn Massachusetts and it's very unacceptable. So don't be like Melinda Sordino, be smart and be friends with someone in hjgh school because love and passion is always a #1 priority.

Warm Wishes.
Trevon Haywood Dec 2018
May this magical time of the year bring you the gift of good cheer and wonderful passion.
I will also give you hope as the rain begins to pour and I'm gonna stand by you for love, god and forgiveness because you're smart and always bold and beautiful as always do.
There's no need to be sad and lonely right now, I'm always here for you.
We can make it last and through the storm as long as we live in a beautiful world and we will never be alone.
We wanna be strong and positive. So, don't be negative. Just be nice and handsome.
We will bring warm wishes to the heart of Massachusetts this holiday season. So, we hope you to have a Merry Christmas and a wonderful Happy New Year!

Rain Poem.
Trevon Haywood Nov 2018
A drop fell on the apple tree
Another on the roof;
A half a dozen kissed the eaves,
And made the gables laugh.

A few went out to help the brook,
That went to help the sea.
Myself conjectured, Were they pearls,
What necklaces could be!

The dust replaced in hoisted roads,
The birds jocoser sung;
The sunshine threw his hat away,
The orchards spangles hung.

The breezes brought dejected lutes,
And bathed them in the glee;
The East put out a single flag,
And signed the fête away.

I'm back with some new rain poem!
Trevon Haywood Apr 2017
I'm the prettiest man of all time around here in Western Massachusetts.
And no one can stop me from happening.
It's almost summertime and we need to act like it as only one's own. I'm about to be 25 years old within the next 2 months.
And at anytime, you need to respect yourself and others like this is our home.
I'm about to get married to Hayleigh Reeder because she's the prettiest girl of all time just like me.
And when the storm hits, we will be together forever.
By the year 2018, i'm going to be the Prettiest Man Of All Time to be at the new casino in Downtown Springfield when it opens in September.
And as we continue to control ourselves for the summer, we shall become the prettiest people of all time like love, passion and even knowledge.
And together we are the greatest young and the restless of Western Massachusetts and Northern Connecticut.
Now that's life and coverage we can count on as always.

Be My Valentine.
Trevon Haywood Feb 2017
I hope it's love.
Because it's Valentine's Day.
So, please be my valentine as long as i live.
I wish i wanna hug you, kiss you and even marry you with all of my heart with lots of love and passion.
And when the rain falls down peacefully, we will be together forever.
Even if i still love you so much, then how about we spend more time together without breaking us apart.
When spring comes by, i hope that we can be best buddies of Massachusetts together again with no point of return.
And love is always everywhere in Massachusetts and Connecticut.

2016 Rap Up.
Trevon Haywood Dec 2016
This past year was a ******
Looking back, it kinda makes me wonder
How it came and went and **** near took everyone under
Its crazy out here and even though it was tough
I'ma run it back, this is 2016 Rap Up

Denver won the Super Bowl, Cam came up short
Leo got his Oscar and El Chapo got caught
They got mosquitoes with the Zika, so don't get bit
Peyton and Kobe Bryant both called it quits
I gotta admit, Fam, I get mad as ****
When I swipe my card and they say "No, You gotta use your chip"
**** Daniel, "Hamilton" was lit
Who let Kanye West get 53 million in debt?
And Rihanna went to work without taking a pause
ISIS popping and y'all worried about bathroom laws?!?
Come on, fam
How that sound?
So we out here standing up
Just so y'all can sit down?
Warriors went on a streak and then they got served
Panda was a hit and we couldn't understand the words
Huh, and Khaled kept snapping
These youngins keep mumbling
I guess y'all call that rapping
I've seen "Stranger Things", come on dude
Y'all out here shooting gorillas and punching kangaroos
Janet Jackson pregnant at 50, dog
So for you ol' broads, there might be some hope for y'all
I ain't throwing shade, it ain't that deep
**** I don't want nobody out here ******* with me in these streets
Then Birdman ran up on Charlamagne
And Lil' Wayne still not 'puttin' respect on his name'
Michael left Kelly trying to get paid
But the world stopped when Beyonce dropped Lemonade
She slayed, and over-shared
And ya'll still trying to find out about 'Becky with the good hair.'
As far as questions, I got one
"Hey Hov and B, is y'all finished or is y'all done?"
Son, I don't know if it was fake
I know KD did the running man challenge all the way to Golden State
The whole year made no sense
Dog, we live in a world without Muhammad Ali and no Prince
Then Gucci came home
And he looked so different y'all was like, "naw, that's got to be a clone"
Y'all was glued to y'all phones
And LeBron got it done for the Cavs and brought the chip back home
Snapchatting all over the place
I swear to God, if I see one more girl with a dog on her face
It was a sad year for sure
Instead of being woke though
Y'all wanted to play Pokemon Go!
And rap got weird, should we be concerned?
Young **** in a dress, Yung Joc got a perm
And everybody was in the Presidential race
Ryan Lochte, Oh he gets the Michael Phelps' face
Game and Meek beefing, Hillary and Trump
Kap took a knee, T.I., Brad Pitt got dumped
And Trump said he going to build a wall on the border
Ya'll will probably go to flip bottles water
The snow storm had the East underground
The kept shooting black men but wouldn't shoot killer clowns
They kept telling us to use our voices
Knowing **** well they ain't really give us no choices
Get an iPhone with no headphone cord
Or get a Galaxy and go and meet the Lord
See they go low, and we go high
You only got two friends. Why you trying to go Live?
I'ma miss the Obamas, I don't wanna see them go
My prayers to everyone that we lost in Orlando
The Oscars were so white they had to get Chris Rock
And the album of the year had to be Anderson.Paak
Cubs finally Won, Usain was on fire
Melania Trump hired the wrong ghostwriter
I'm petty with the manners
'Cuz I think Kim K. got robbed by Joanne the Scammer
Ooouuu
Biters keep testin' me
They making rappers, but they ain't got the recipe
Huh, Yeah that's facts
Shout to Young M.A. for bringing New York back
And I hear y'all talking about "Kanye is fine"
Well to us it look like Kanye done lost his mind
Cowboys kept ballin', them boys in the zone
Bryson Tiller came along, kept telling us "Don't"
I'm highly favored
I clap back on my haters
I be the beans, greens, potatoes, tomatoes
The mannequin challenge, oh, that's how y'all feel?
The World moving dog, we can't just stand still
Beyonce made sure y'all got in formation
One time for Phife Dawg from the Zulu Nation
Did Drake bag J.Lo? I say kinda
But y'all was all up in arms over Rob and Chyna
And that's a new level of female pimping
Biggest L of the year goes to Hillary Clinton
You ask me, man, I thought she had it made
You ask me now, ****, I think we all got played
Another sign of the times
And now the whole World laughing at us, sounding like ChewbaccaMom
2016 was a bully and a punk
On top of that, now we gotta deal with Donald Trump?
Pardon me, as I vent
Bro, we made a reality star the President
And that just makes me sick
Talking about, "We gotta give him a chance." Naw
I ain't got to give him ****
It's going to be hard to cope
Because you can't have progress, dog, if you don't have hope
More pros, less rookies
And if America's ours, how we let it get grabbed by the *****?
They say I sound mad, off the cuff
Oh, I sound mad? Y'all don't sound mad enough
So from here on out, we gotta set the tone
Y'all protect yourself and protect your own
And way too many people got called back home
2016 you can go, and I'm glad you're gone
Felt like a long bad dream
I'm wishing you love and life, Welcome to 2017.

December 23rd.
Trevon Haywood Dec 2016
Today, December 23rd, another Christmas nears.
I try to keep tradition up while holding back my tears.

I know I have been blessed for all the many years
of love and joy and family and times we had to share.

The presents wrapped, the tree is lit, the wreath upon the door,
but pondering all the Christmases past and tears begin to fall.

This Christmas will be different,
for some very special loved ones have received God's final call.

Then I dry my tears and say a special prayer.
Dear God, my gift to you is that soul I loved so dear.

I thank you for their life and love
I was so blessed to share.

Now all that I can ask of you is to keep them in your care!
I also want to offer you my each and every tear.

Now I promise to make Christmas joy for those I still have here
and put a smile upon their face while we have time to share.

Amen

Gloomy.
Trevon Haywood Nov 2016
I feel gloomy when it's cloudy outside without the sunshine brightening on me.
And it makes me so depressed about it too.
Sometimes, i feel alone when nobody's around.
Even if I'm sick, then they'll have to take care of me.
I've been in the city for several years multiple times than I usally do.
When the sunshine returns tomorrow, everything will be perfect again before the winter begins.
And I'll never forget anyone who were depressed over the same thing all over again.

I'm so dark and lovely for Halloween.
And there's nothing i can do about it.
Because it's still 2016, and we better act right all day and all night.

I'm still your friend, not your kind of enemy.
It won't be long until high school graduation comes in June of next year.
So, good luck to the Class of 2017!

On Halloween.
Trevon Haywood Nov 2016
On Halloween like this, i can feel some spirits around me.
And it's a scary and spooky holiday that affect us every single year.
And when it's stormy outside, i would become very evil for revenge of death.
Normally, i should become dark and lovely this time of year for Halloween.
Don't let others to find you and scare you. Just enjoy yourself with your friends without getting into so much trouble.
Because in Massachusetts, Halloween is our very scary and spooky for us to enjoy this year.

Haunted, they say, believing
the soft, shifty
dunes are made up
of false promises.

Many believe
whatever happens
is the other half
of a conversation.

Many whisper
white lies
to the dead.

"The boys are doing really well."

Some think
nothing is so
until it has been witnessed.

They believe
the bits are iffy;

the forces that bind them,
absolute.

Still, it really doesn't matter,
After all, who wins the flag.
Good clean sport is what we're after,
And we aim to make our brag
To each near or distant nation
Whereon shines the sporting sun
That of all our games gymnastic
Baseball is the cleanest one!

Snow-flakes.
Trevon Haywood Oct 2016
Out of the ***** of the Air,
Out of the cloud-folds of her garments shaken,
Over the woodlands brown and bare,
      Over the harvest-fields forsaken,
            Silent, and soft, and slow
            Descends the snow.

Even as our cloudy fancies take
Suddenly shape in some divine expression,
Even as the troubled heart doth make
      In the white countenance confession,
            The troubled sky reveals
            The grief it feels.

This is the poem of the air,
      Slowly in silent syllables recorded;
This is the secret of despair,
Long in its cloudy ***** hoarded,
            Now whispered and revealed
            To wood and field.

Pink.

Pink is the color of spring flowers.
Pink is the color of the raincoat.
Pink is the color of strawberry milk.
And pink is the color of my shirt.
Everything has to do with the color of pink.
And one last thing, pink is the color of my heart that loves me.
That's why i still love pink so much because it's my favorite color of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Warm Autumn.
Trevon Haywood Oct 2016
It feels more like summer and mid-September in New England with some record breaking warm temperatures during October.
And it's not even summertime anymore anyways. We are in the middle of the season.
But it's okay, next summer is going to be better and i love it when it's really warm outside during autumn months.
I wish i can see warm temperatures in Massachusetts more often, even if I look more popular like a summer person.

My True Love.
Trevon Haywood Oct 2016
I have a feeling
That I can comprehend
In my deepest thoughts your are
More than just a friend.

I wouldn't want to
Rush us now
As love we explore
But there's a growing love inside
That we just can't ignore.

I love the times we
Spend together. We are comfortable
And free. I think of you when we are
Alone. I think of you and me.

We have a share
Secrets to uncover. There's more
To life then we will both discover.
I love you always.

I'll love you when you're dumb,
I'll love you when you're smart,
I'll love you anyway you are,
Right from the start.

I'll love you if you're tall
I'll love you if you're short,
I'll love you if you're pretty,
Or just an ugly dork.

I'll love you if you're toothless,
I'll love you if you're blind,
Anything that's wrong with you,
To me you'll be fine.

My heart is opening up now,
Unlike it used to do,
I see the pain that's in your heart
And sometimes I feel it to.

I'll love you tomorrow,
I'll love you today,
I'll love you forever,
And forever always.

Cry Me A River.
Trevon Haywood Oct 2016
Cry me a river
Build me a bridge
I cannot remember
Which ditch I did dig

I am here in the present
Yet live in the past
It’s all just a blur
Moving so fast

I have lived through the storm
I have fell to my knees
But yet I do not know
The importance of these

Send me a message
Show me the light
Take heed in my warning
I live in the night

Darkness is coming
I am fading from sight
The gate is now closing
Now comes the fright

I am lost and confused
So poor and confused
So beaten and broken
With no end in sight

Cry me a river
Build me a bridge
I cannot remember
Which ditch I did dig.

One Girl.

I
Like the sweet apple which reddens upon the topmost bough,
Atop on the topmost twig, — which the pluckers forgot, somehow, —
Forget it not, nay; but got it not, for none could get it till now.

Like the wild hyacinth flower which on the hills is found,
Which the passing feet of the shepherds for ever tear and wound,
Until the purple blossom is trodden in the ground.

Autumn Rain.
Trevon Haywood Sep 2016
The plane leaves
fall black and wet
on the lawn;

the cloud sheaves
in heaven’s fields set
droop and are drawn

in falling seeds of rain;
the seed of heaven
on my face

falling — I hear again
like echoes even
that softly pace

heaven’s muffled floor,
the winds that tread
out all the grain

of tears, the store
harvested
in the sheaves of pain

caught up aloft:
the sheaves of dead
men that are slain

now winnowed soft
on the floor of heaven;
manna invisible

of all the pain
here to us given;
finely divisible
falling as rain.

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

Depression Never Ending.
Trevon Haywood Sep 2016
Depression is here everyday
And it never goes away
Go away! I yell into the dark
As if someone is there
I feel as if I'm a prisoner
In the dungeon's lair
And as always no one cares
Do I dare?
Dare to care about anyone but me?
Could it be,
Someone there?
Someone there to care?
No, just an image
That's the way it will always be
No matter how hard I try
I just want to get by
I go through life day by day,
I thought pain was supposed
To go away with time
But it's not
It's still here
Here with the fear
Fear that I will get hurt more.

Remember June’s long days,

and wild strawberries, drops of wine, the dew.

The nettles that methodically overgrow

the abandoned homesteads of exiles.

You must praise the mutilated world.

You watched the stylish yachts and ships;

one of them had a long trip ahead of it,

while salty oblivion awaited others.

You’ve seen the refugees heading nowhere,

you’ve heard the executioners sing joyfully.

You should praise the mutilated world.

Remember the moments when we were together

in a white room and the curtain fluttered.

Return in thought to the concert where music flared.

You gathered acorns in the park in autumn

and leaves eddied over the earth’s scars.

Praise the mutilated world

and the gray feather a thrush lost,

and the gentle light that strays and vanishes

and returns.

You Will Not Break Me.
Trevon Haywood Sep 2016
You will not break my spirit burning bright,
turn my day to terror'd night
you will not break my cities tall and proud,
run my family underground

you will not break me!

you will not rob my leaders of their will,
clergy of their faith,
you will not peel stripes from my face
poke holes through my stars

you will not get away with this!

you will not turn my red, white and blue
into painful black and blue,
you will not break my children's acrid innocence,
my freedom to endure,
you will not take my mother and hold her hostage,
break my back first man, 'cause I'll seek justice

I'm an American!

My colors do not run,
I'm black, white, brown, yellow and tan
I'm an American!
You broke into family's home
killed brothers and sisters
one day I will get you
because I'm an American!
and
you will not break me,
you will not break me,
you will not break the hope in my child's eyes
peace will prevail to your surprise,
love is strength in numbers,
your will is bound by hatred

America slumbers no more,
the giant has awaken and
years of complacent, fat-cat politics
is now down to ***** out heretics
I got *****
I got *****
I got ***** swinging from the hips of
Crazy Horse and Sitting Bull
ready to bounce you out of your holes!

I got soul,
I got soul
I got soul like no others got soul,
got soul like Tina Turner, James Brown,
Ella Fitzgerald and the New York City Fire Department

I'm an American!

I got heart,
I got heart like no others got heart
I got heart like the Tin Man found
I got heart like Tony Bennett, George Foreman,
Marlon Brando, Jesse Owens,  BB King, John Belushi
Johnny Franco and the Miracle Mets!
I'm an American!
I'm an American!
and
you will not break me
you will not break me
you will not break me!

It's Just Rain.
Trevon Haywood Sep 2016
They all say that rain
cleanses the soul,
Yet I don't see anyone
on a rainy stroll.

Instead they run from it,
like it's gonna bite,
It won't,
unless they're flying a kite.

Sure you may,
get a bit wet,
What's the big deal?
At least it's not sweat.

So you won't
need to shower at home,
If you like your hair,
just bring a good comb.

But remember,
it's just plain old rain,
Don't run from it,
it's all in your brain.

Rain In The Park.
Trevon Haywood Sep 2016
Suzy and Laura played
on red colored swings.
Laughing and talking,
like they had magical wings.

Smiling cheerfully,
they stared at the sky,
In a few minutes
they won't be that dry.

All of a sudden,
it got very dark.
Very dark clouds,
surrounded their park.

They felt in their stomachs,
the rain will just pour,
All of a sudden,
they heard a loud roar.

Was it a lion,
they began to wonder,
It roared again,
It was just thunder.

The rain came down,
Like a humongous shower,
It washed away,
every last yellow flower.

Suzy and Laura,
were completely drenched,
They ran quickly home,
Holding hands that were clenched.

It's Raining.. I miss you.
Trevon Haywood Aug 2016
I close my eyes
I see your face
Your eyes so bright
I’m in a daze

I look out the window
And there I see
You walking in the distance
Looking at me

I feel this feeling
And I know
That our love is special
And it will only grow

I step outside and walk in the rain
Wind in my face and rain on my mane
My eyes are misty and still I see
You’re beautiful face smiling at me

I’m singing, dancing madly in the rain
Walking, running, crazy, insane
Those who watch me, they hardly know
What’s making me happy, why my heart glows

They think I’m a fool, that may be true
I’m a fool in love, and I don’t have a clue
It’s raining, pouring; I don’t know where I am going
All I know is I miss you, I love you, and that’s really true.

After The Rain.
Trevon Haywood Aug 2016
Resurgent greens and stronger hues
combined within the colours in-between
will spring again, the reddish brown
has nearly gone and all the silver
greys erased in darker shades
that shine with slickly natured stains
after the gentle, gentle rain.

Clouded skies unite and demonize
the dry and dusty plight of days of brutal
beating sun and scathing wind,
the thin veneer is quickly peeled
and puddle-swamped in bloodied muddled
swirls of coloured slushy earth
that tinge the tracks of heavy wheels.

The welcome cold at first conceals its
damp and chilling steel, and in the icy
shades of night the frigid bite ignites
less welcome sentiments until the wrap
of insulation seals the warming heat,
sanctifies the stolid feet and frigid toes
with subtle sweep of warming blood.

And in the morning when the sun returns
to claim the earth the mist surprises, rising
unabashed and clean again to grace the
nascent waiting skies after the rain.

Dead of Summer.
Trevon Haywood Jun 2016
Rise and Shine.
The water's feeling so much fine.
No need to worry about it.
It's just the dead of summer.
And it's not safe to do so, but listen to the sound of the human nature of Massachusetts.
Without being left alone in the dark of all of our secrets of death and passion.
And that's my own opinion, not your average budget.
There's no need to tell me anything about the dead of summer.

On The Last Day of School.
Trevon Haywood May 2016
On the last day of school, we will share our moments and memories together.
With all the hard work and good grades.
Especially when it's sunny outside and sometimes when it's really raining outside.
And it's a better way to show us some love and respect for the safety of our beautiful people and children here in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Just to remember, it's almost hard to say goodbye to the Class of 2016 and as we approach into the 2016-2017 academic school year, we will learn about certain finer things around our schools in the community.
So we hope y'all to have a bold and the beautiful summer vacation!

Our Downpour.
Trevon Haywood May 2016
Let's drench ourselves in rain
Lord knows that's all we needed
To feel at home with each other
No more drowning in confusion
Time to let the world know us
To linger through storms
'Cause even when the sun rises
I promise
This rain will last forever
And all you have to know
Is that my hand in yours
As we dance in our downpour.

They say we wouldn't hurt ourselves, we're safe now!
They say we never get in trouble at, school, we're always excellent!
And as for us, we gonna make it through the storm, because this is gonna be awesome.
So, congrats to the Class of 2016 and we still don't get rained out!
We love you all and good luck in the graduation!

Chappaqua Tornado of 1904.
Trevon Haywood May 2016
A man was driving in his car,
Or carriage, on the road the runs,
Where with his wife and little ones,
His horse did stop
On mountaintop–
Over the vale of Chappaqua
Black as night without a star
Came pitchy darkness on men's eyes,
And then great hailstones from the skies
Rattled around
And with rebound
Drove creatures mad in Chappaqua
The awful grandeur of the scene
Impressed him so it made him clean
Forget himself,
His house and pelt
And all his goods in Chappaqua
Thank God, they're safe! One did debar
Destruction on the road that runs–
To him, his wife and little ones.
Tornadoes pass,
Green grows the grass
In the valley, aye, of Chappaqua.

First we'll use Spahn
then we'll use Sain
Then an off day
followed by rain
Back will come Spahn
followed by Sain
And followed
we hope
by two days of rain.

Rain Is Falling.
Trevon Haywood Apr 2016
Rain, rain, its always raining,
Rain, rain, I end up saying,
Rain, rain, please go away now,
Rain, rain, just leave right now,
Rain, rain, don’t know how,
I don’t care how,
To make my rainy day just go away.

So I stand,
in the pouring rain,
So I can,
feel the growing pain,
Of having rain,
coming down like the Armageddon flame.

I can see raindrops playing their game,
Even though they look the same,
I know that there is more to rain.

Sleepless.
Trevon Haywood Apr 2016
If I could have your arms tonight-
But half the world and the broken sea
Lie between you and me.

The autumn rain reverberates in the courtyard,
Beating all night against the barren stone,
The sound of useless rain in the desolate courtyard
Makes me more alone.

If you were here, if you were only here-
My blood cries out to you all night in vain
As sleepless as the rain.

Satisfying Rain.
Trevon Haywood Apr 2016
After days of hot sun, down came the rain,
It watered the garden, and flowed down the drain.
In less than five hours, the month’s quota met,
The news had reported, a record was set.

The drink was welcomed, by the parched earth,
Ending the dry spell, experienced by Perth.
But soon people complained, about getting wet,
They wanted the sun, how soon they forget.

We’re never satisfied, with what we get,
It’s too hot or too cold, too dry or too wet.
We want 24 degrees, with sky that is blue,
And rain for an hour, in the morning at two.

We should be grateful, for the sun and the rain,
Make the most out of it all, and do not complain.
when things do happen, which we can’t control,
Leave it in his hands, it’s part of his goal.

The Wine of Love.
Trevon Haywood Apr 2016
The wine of Love is music,
And the feast of Love is song:
And when Love sits down to the banquet,
   Love sits long:

Sits long and ariseth drunken,
   But not with the feast and the wine;
He reeleth with his own heart,
   That great rich Vine.

True Love.
Trevon Haywood Apr 2016
True love is a sacred flame
That burns eternally,
And none can dim its special glow
Or change its destiny.
True love speaks in tender tones
And hears with gentle ear,
True love gives with open heart
And true love conquers fear.
True love makes no harsh demands
It neither rules nor binds,
And true love holds with gentle hands
The hearts that it entwines.

Summer Rain.
Trevon Haywood Apr 2016
Outside it rains
Sitting in my porch I watch,
The elements mix and mingle
Kneading the pulverized dust

This is summer rain.
It comes and goes
Like teenage romance
Licking rising flames of heat

It sinks fast into the mud
Promising new sprouts of green
Sieving deeper into my mind
Reviving faded dreams!

Rain drops flop and break
Over boulders and flow downwards
Raising the scent of roasted earth
Mixing with the smell of fresh Jasmine

I hear the roar of wind
Trees casting leaves by its current
Spectres of green spiralling down
And flown hither and thither

I watch the race of truant clouds
And how they collide on their track
Breeding florescent light and rumbling sound
Like a small firework in the sky

I hear the rain all around
Hold it in my palm
Feel the thrill of the first firm grip of my love
And my senses aglow with a soothing calm

These summer drops carry such grace
How the starved earth ***** them in!
On asphalt roads how they glide and dance
And how quickly disappear out of sight

As I look on, the rain stops
And its rattle suddenly stilled
Like a beautiful concert
Abruptly closed, leaving waves of joy!

The sky that peered through veils of grey
Beamed and brightened once again
With all its ache washed away
In the purging tears of crystal drops!

Heavy Summer Rain.
Trevon Haywood Apr 2016
The grasses in the field have toppled,
and in places it seems that a large, now
absent, animal must have passed the night.
The hay will right itself if the day

turns dry. I miss you steadily, painfully.
None of your blustering entrances
or exits, doors swinging wildly
on their hinges, or your huge unconscious
sighs when you read something sad,
like Henry Adams’s letters from Japan,
where he traveled after Clover died.

Everything blooming bows down in the rain:
white irises, red peonies; and the poppies
with their black and secret centers
lie shattered on the lawn.

Jane Kenyon (1947-1995). 4/11/2016.
