Im a sharp shooter
Upon meeting me
You will be deceived
To think I come in peace
When actually
Im a vicious breed
With a gentle smile
Vile intentions
And let me not forget to mention
That you caught my attention
Solely based on your pension
So I aimed at you
But you start missing me
Can't stop kissing me
Future thoughts of wishing we
Could make you Mrs. T
One eye closed I mark my target
A bullet straight through your heart
Killing your aspirations
Known deceptions now changes your perceptions
And there's only one direction
To further your journey and that's down
On all fours
Gasping for air
As I watch you in despair
Not giving a care
If you lay there
And die...
Im a sharp shooter
And you're just another bullseye.

**** the status quo
I made a drum I can beat
To my own rhythm

I unlove you
I don't care if it's a neologism
It's my heart you imprisoned
And I unlove you for that

You were everything I wanted
Because I love everything you're not
I love it a lot, like a lot a lot
And I love what you don't look like
I've fallen head over heels for
Whose personality you don't resemble
I long for the way your kisses differ
How the *** isn't as curricular
But of course that's not enough

I want to want you
And "you" is an easy word to rhyme with
So that's what I won't do
See how easily I'm distracted away
From what you've got, what I can't say?
Because all I know is what you don't relay
How we share a not-so-bad day
I've got a question... if I may

I should love you for what you've got, right?
For all you are and not for who you're not, right?
If this holds true, we'll descend from the spotlight
'Cause I don't care about who you are, just who you're not quite
I unlove you with my whole heart
And I refuse to dig any further
I like to love everthing you're not about
And I pray that's okay with you

Leave me
I give you permission
To exit my life, stage right
Don't look back please
Just kiss my left cheek
Tell me you care
You'll always be there
And walk away for good
But don't be there anyway
Dont' call me on my birthday
Don't find small things to say
Just don't think about me
You can ask my friends how I am
But don't check to see for yourself
It's a trap we don't want to fall into... again
Shed a few tears for me
For the thoughts of what we could be
Those memories we'll never get the chance to see
The end of our "everlasting" destiny
Just go, my love
Walk out my heart and slam the door behind you
Hurt me with your goodbye
It's okay, I won't hate you
Just let us go
But not just 'cause I told you so
The trouble with poetry is
that sometimes, often
it likes to hear itself talk too much
with words no one understands
with metaphors about beaches and rockets
and how they relate to love and loss
just to make the poet
feel superior
to the reader
and the reader
to hate poetry
I wrote the poem, realized I had heard the title somewhere before, realized it was Billy Collins, listened to him read it on YouTube and got to the part where he talks about breaking in to everyone else's poetry with flashlights and ski masks and knew it was ok.
Touch your hand

Kiss my lips

Lick your neck

Grab my hips

Bite your ear

Scratch my back

Taste your skin

Arch my back

Burn your soul

Flood my brain

Want your body

Call my name

Feed your desire

Grab my face

Grasp your shoulders

Feel my waist

Love your body

Know my soul

Claim your mind

Lose my control
Kiss me

Take me

Break me

Shake me

Hurt me

Love me

Push me

Shove me

Make me feel

Make me free

Make me fall

Make me be

Bleeding

Screaming

Laughing

Seething

Now I'm free

burn the light of fire
and wax the ears of injustice.

chide the moon
and bid ado to the reckless sun.

count the blessings of misfortunes
and wave verbs in the air--
breathing the hopeful breaths of married sandals

Label the pains of a billion rain drops and fawn the feathers
of a nightingale over the glory of failed
triumphs known as yesterday.

break the hands of a wristwatch and make a ******* of time--
for through the God in Satan was how Earth was won.
