You are the moon
that calls the sea,
bringing her in
until the light from
Your sky
shines upon her waves;
something so bright
in the darkness of night
that it catches the
attention of someone like me.
someone who's afraid to drown
but willing to swim
just to know
what
it feels like to be home
in the endless waves
dancing so gracefully.
You are the moon
with your force so strong
that even when the sun rises
the next morning
and You, no longer in sight,
remind us that even in the light
Your force is as strong as
a mother's love to her child,
constantly working
to remind us
that we are alright,
that we will not fall and die
but fall and learn
what gravity feels like.
You are the moon
pulling us close
that when the sun's light dies
You tell us to look forward
to the night
because then we will learn
to feel at home
again and again
as the waves dance
and the sea crashes into the shore.
You are the light
in our darkest times
calling us
to listen,
to see,
to love both day and night endlessly
because there is nothing to be afraid of
when you are a child of the moon.
