Edgar Allan Poe
’Twas noontide of summer,
  And midtime of night,
And stars, in their orbits,
  Shone pale, through the light
Of the brighter, cold moon.
  ’Mid planets her slaves,
Herself in the Heavens,
  Her beam on the waves.

  I gazed awhile
  On her cold smile;
Too cold—too cold for me—
  There passed, as a shroud,
  A fleecy cloud,
And I turned away to thee,
  Proud Evening Star,
  In thy glory afar
And dearer thy beam shall be;
  For joy to my heart
  Is the proud part
Thou bearest in Heaven at night,
  And more I admire
  Thy distant fire,
Than that colder, lowly light.

If on this cool September night,
a dream creates a perfect view
Then I’ll prepare within its sight,
to spend this autumn eve with you

You are my every waking thought
I swear time collapses when I think of you
Melting me down
Memorizing parts of me I forgot
All I want to do is be with you

I'm the cold hard ground
But she is the gentle rain

The Happy End

I could never write a poem as beautiful as you are to me
Nothing man-made
Nothing in nature
Nothing can ever be

And if the universe should have an end
Maybe I'll find you there
I'm too numb to feel this pain
I'm too young to feel this hopeless

So I sit with my back to the wall and my head in my hands
Knowing about nightfall
Thunderstorms
And black holes
I could never write a happy ending
