~My father ~

The saguaro an altar
A tree stump a pew
He knelt in the garden
His church all that grew.

Cactus and succulent
Tenderly grown
Were all in his choir
For his ears alone.

From aisles of stone walkways
Stained glass in bright clouds
The sun was his mantle
The stars are his shroud

The lakes holy water
As a child he'd haunt
Skipping stones 'cross a pond
Like a Baptismal Font

Sat he 'neath the willows
To hear their prayer's sigh
The saguaro an altar

His Cathedral the sky.

Yesterday evening at approximately 9PM  my father passed away. He was closest to God being out in, and working with, nature. He was a Master Gardener. A member of the Cactus & Succulent Society.  I will write more about dad later on... Right now it's 5am and I've had no sleep. I'm going to try to rest. I'm handling the grief by writing... Remembering him fondly with words. Isn't that just like a poet...?
Brilliant.
Dazzling.
New leaves burst forth.
In Spring's glorious green.

Brilliant.
Breathtaking.
Blossoms of violet and purest white.
Upon trees standing stately.
In morning light.

Radiant trees announce God's resurrection life.
Flowers of beauty herald the fragrance of Christ.

Winged songbirds.
Frolicking squirrels.
Rabbits now brown.
Every living thing dances with renewed life.

And I dance with them.
In the joy of new healing.
And renewed strength.

I rejoice in the wonder of Spring.
Awestruck.
By the greatness of God.
The Living God who created all things.
And fashioned with beauty.
Spring's glorious gems.
The Lamb of God
wore a crown of thorns.
Pressed down hard upon His brow.
Piercing ****** into His holy brain.
That my mind might be healed by His Word
of Truth.
That I might clearly see.

The Lamb of God
wore striped wounds upon His back.
That the heavy burden of sins I bear.
Might be unloaded at the foot of His Cross.
Forgiven.
And left there.

The Lamb of God
was nailed to a tree.
With excruciating wounds to His
hands and feet.
That I might from sin's chains
be forever released.

The Lamb of God
faced fear for me.
Through ****** tears of agony.
The Garden of Gethsemane. (Luke 22:22-24)
That I might be a lamb in His arms.
Who need never fear what may come.

The Lamb of God
was abandoned by all.
Family, friends, and even God His Father.
Left alone to die on a cruel Cross.
With broken heart.
And pain of loss.
That I might never be alone.
That my heart might be healed
of every scar and wound.

The Lamb of God
was pierced in the side.
Laughed at.
Scorned.
Stripped naked.
Made Monstrous. (Isaiah 52:14)
That I might be made beautiful.
That I might be forgiven.
That I might be clothed with Him.

Oh, how deep, how great, how unfathomable
is His Love!
I weep over this...
And my own unworthiness.

The Lamb of God
breathed His last.
"Father, forgive them." (Luke 23:34)
"It is finished." (John 19:30)
He was laid in a new tomb to rest.
While those He loved mourned, and had
their faith put to the test.

The Lamb of God
Oh glory! He rose!
On the third day.
Just as He promised.
"He is not here. He has risen.
Just as He said." (Matt. 28:6)
Just.
As.
He.
Said.

The Lamb of God
The Risen Christ
My Lord and my God!
Raised to life.
That I might walk new and redeemed.
As forgiven.
Treasured.
Loved.
And prized.

The Lamb of God.
The Lamb who gave up all for me.
Who gave up all for you.
The Lamb of God.
Who won the victory.
Oh, how I love my Lamb of God!
Who gave up all.
To set us free.
Happy Easter Monday everyone!  Blessings to you all!
Little girl with golden locks.
Little girl with big blue eyes.
Little girl.
So full of woe.
In a church of stained glass windows.
The Church of the Messiah.

Mommy decks the altar with flowers.
Daddy is out and about.
The little girl stares reverently
at the beautiful window.
Sunlight lights up Jesus the Good Shepherd.
A little lamb is in His arms.
Close to His chest.
Close to His heart.
Is He MY Good Shepherd? the little girl whispers.
Am I His little lamb?

The little girl is now alone in the sanctuary.
With the Shepherd's eyes upon her.
Lights streams through the
stained glass aperture.
It falls upon her small face.
Then a Voice speaks into her depths:
"You are My child, and you will belong
to Me for your whole life."
The little girl is struck.
With awe and wonder.
At her Shepherd's voice.
For now she knows,
and will forever know,
that she is
His little lamb.
You come to me.

With healing in Your wings.

Your Love washes over me.

Filling every crack.

Of my broken soul.
"But to you who fear My name, the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings; and you will go forth and skip about like calves from the stall." (Mal. 4:2, Holy Bible, NASB, NKJV)
It whispers in blood
Makes a flute of our bones
Makes vapor of sweat
It hums and it groans
It's a static in hair
Has a life of its own
We're empty without it
As cold as a stone

It has passion to warm
Has tongues that can talk
It will help to confirm us
To Christ and his walk
It's a Shepherd to guide us
It can heal the flock
It can chastise us
Can You Feel the shock?

O ohhhh... FIRE! (2X8)

It refines by its heat
Like a stone in a mill
It crushes the wheat
It can comfort & fill
It gives courage to hearts
Teaches us to be still
It's grace, it is art
It's simply God's will...

It goes up in red sparks
It's an eternal flame
Will press into the mark
And won't leave us ashamed
Convince with one word
Won't leave us the same
It's not going to change
And I AM is its NAME...

O ohhhh! FIRE! (2X8)

[BRIDGE]
It'll melt solid rock
Or is cold as the snow
From God's heaven above
Or from Hades below...

O ohhhh! FIRE!
(2X10)

I've been struggling with illness, so I haven't been on site much anymore. I'm on Facebook more, because I can post photos, music & videos. You can find me on FB by looking up Cathy Jarvis. I have the same avatar there as here. Thanks for understanding. Love you!
They say there is a rainbow
For every blessing found
For every graceful
rose in bloom
For each
melodious sound!

For every child playing
For every bird on wing
For every fresh baked
apple pie
For every choir that sings!

Purple velvet pansies
Indigo for pearls
Blue for fuzzy violets
Green for our
great world
Yellow for a
flower in bloom
Orange sunsets call
Red for rosy apples
Good for one and all!

But what makes
us so joyous
Once new lives
have begun
Is hope they'll
be Believers
That the victory
will be won!

Knowing that they'll
have a chance
For heaven
round the bend
For them they will
be doubly bless'd

WORLD WITHOUT END.
