When you know
and you don’t speak
that evil dilutes
your truth
Eroding
Decaying
People are pawns
Someday the Queen will fall
And when the kingdom is made of bones
there will only be dust for you to stick your head into

Destination – the same as yours
Hesitation – a wasted cause
A hole in the ground, I’ll see you there
Your time is now; don’t think I don’t care,
But I’ll move on, my time will come
No matter which road I take
The end result remains the same

The sun will still shine, the clock still chime
Over this crowded plot
The rain will still fall, the clouds still form
Whether I like it or not

I’ll make my way through this lonely world
Through the ins and outs, the twists and turns
I can go left or right, up or down,
It doesn’t matter – I’ll still hit the ground
Like the tears of a thousand angels

Emotion – powerful the effects
Devotion – lives on after death
Take hold of my hand, one last time
I never planned that you couldn’t be mine
But now I know, that’s the way it goes
No matter how hard I try
I can’t keep you here if you’re destined to die

Life must go on, tomorrow will come
Another day will begin
The battle is lost, but well worth the cost
To have known you like I did

I’ll make my way through this lonely world
Through the ins and outs, the twists and turns
I can go left or right, up or down,
It doesn’t matter – I’ll still hit the ground
Like the tears of a thousand angels

I’ll see you there, don’t think I don’t care
It’s time that I moved on
My feelings grow numb, my time will still come
But I won’t speed it along

Written after bereavement.
I feel static in my stomach
Chains in my chest
Tangling together.
Clinging forever.
Creeping up my throat like an angry snake.
Somehow silent, a scream, a quake, a break.
A breakdown.
What now?
I’m falling apart like a burning house.
Fire in my fingers
Flames on my tongue.
Somehow too loud, a whisper, a blink, a smile.
A breakdown.
What now?

I am a polar bear
I sit on my iceberg

I don't like hugs , never did never will
But hugging you , I'd ask time to stand still

I also don't like when two mouths touch
But I'd kiss every inch of you , pretty much

Honey is from the same place as bee stings
I hate to look like an idiot or forget things

But I'd happily be an idiot to your eyes
I am a polar bear under the polluted skies

pianos and cellos were my favorite sound
When you talk ,  my new favorite is found

The iceberg will slowly melt
And I the polar bear with what I felt
Will drown to my death
It's at 1 am thst I realize that the polar bears are dying

It's a new Her this week
an emma from a building up the street
met in the line of a bar
caught eyes from afar
felt my knees arms and heart go weak

the rest of the night was a haze
we left the bar in a craze
carried through the door
undergarments on the floor
before moving onto the next phase

one more drink from the bottle
and she brought out her novel
she read with such probity
I ripped up my poetry
and turned from a lover to apostle
thanks

there's that poem that you read
that stops you in your tracks
dropping the book on your nose
as you're lying on your back

A final stanza on the busy bus
can make the world freeze
so don't forget to hold onto the handrail
or when it really stops,
you'll be brought crashing to your knees
