Adrianna Jan 2021
Crushing headlights in between my teeth
Trying to smile a sky of stars
Drinking LED venom from the corner of a ceiling
Thinking I’m glowing like the moon
I’d take a bat to a humming streetlamp
Just to remember that things move
Adrianna Nov 2020
In the middle of the night
As the world shifts towards morning
Streetlight skates across my windshield
Like smoke, glowing bluegreen and purple
A spirit chasing its own breath
Adrianna Nov 2020
It is just me
and my god
and the blue in the sky

Your eyes are black
they drink in
and spit out

Poetry is a universe
Inside of a solar system
Inside of me
Bursting at the seams
Begging to break out
And return to the sky
To hang itself in lights
Adrianna Oct 2020
I prop up the kitchen window
Run cold water in the sink
The scent of coffee swirls
I don’t drink coffee, but you do
You cross the floor
Brush the hair off my shoulder
Your lips rush to beat the sun
To the freshly bared skin
And keep it warm
I take your head into my hands
I drink you in
French vanilla
Adrianna Oct 2020
Every birdsong sings your smile
Your name smells like fresh basil
Your eyes taste like gold
Adrianna Oct 2020
Every shape is your shape
Shifting with the wind
Tricking the light
I look over my shoulder
I watch through the curtains
I rub my eyes
But your hair is just green brush
Your eyes a pair of parked headlights
Your footsteps rain trotting the ground
Hey, what’s it like
To exist as half god, half ghost?
