Heartbroken, cut open,
Your knives stuck in my back.
Misspoken, I'm chokin',
Trying to get my life on track.

Dark places, many faces,
Where I've been and what I no longer see.
Make haste, and go away,
This depression I'm in is killing me.

You model, men ogle,
You're no longer what I fell in love with.
I toggle, and down a bottle.
This alcohol is a poison's kiss.

My heart turns to stone when our eyes meet.
I'm frozen here in place.
Deep red blood now turns to ice,
Flowing through these veins.

Your memory, I'm not forgetting,
I dream of you when I don't try.
I can't erase you, you're haunting,
Me, and I can't live my life.

I resist, yet you persist,
To linger in my state of mind.
I'm not happy, you've stabbed me
In the back two years ago in time.

You cheated, I felt defeated,
My world collapsed around me.
Our photos, deleted
But my mind still won't leave me be.

My heart turns to stone when our eyes meet.
I'm frozen here in place.
Deep red blood now turns to ice,
Flowing through these veins.

Your beauty, shoots through me,
But you're a cancer inside.
You're looming, you've doomed me.
See the pain in these eyes.

I've tried, and I've cried,
Too many tears in the time you've been gone.
It's humiliating, and complicating,
Everything still feels so wrong.

I've fought, and I've sought,
My demons, and anyone for help.
I'm rearranged, and I'm changed,
Not for the better because you've made my life Hell.

My heart turns to stone when our eyes meet.
I'm frozen here in place.
Deep red blood now turns to ice,
Flowing through these veins.

Medusa...
This is a "poetic" version of how I feel after being cheated on in a 4 year relationship.

I haven't seen her in person since the break-up, and I hope that time never comes.

I don't dream, it seems...
They're brown, frayed, blue, faded, things.
Do me your worst;
I'm in your waters,
So I'm your prisoner.
Waist deep within a fountain on a frozen lake.
Where I'm your shadow no more...
I'm your shadow no more.
I hear your words,
Out of sync.
You get the worst right out of me;
And once I've lost,
I'll be crawling out the center.
I'm inside your walls,
Out of reach.
Falling backwards through a maze;
And once I'm lost,
I will hollow out the center.
Entomb me.
To be sure...
I'm in your shelter,
And I'm your prisoner.
I'm closer... to dreaming.
Caught between these hollow worlds.
And I let the demons loose,
to catch me in the waters below.
I'm close now... to dreaming...
I'm caught between these hollow worlds.
But I let the demons loose,
to catch me in the waters below.

Words are a poison,
Killing some inside.
Facts are revealed,
Nothing left to hide.
Those fixed on destruction,
Of other people's pride.
Wear a mask of hate,
To shelter behind.
Speech is traced,
Language of sin.
Hard exterior,
But you're a coward within.
Hard-headed mandible,
Brain with slim.
Walk a mile in shoes,
With someone else's skin.
Talk about weakness,
And you have nothing?
You hide behind words,
Let your actions do some talking.
You speak of lies,
Turn around, keep walking.
Let's talk about you,
My words are stalking.
Tables have turned,
I cut you down in size.
Vocabulary impeccable,
Catch you by surprise.
What's to say now?
Let's point out all your lies.
Embarrassment swells in you,
Are those tears in your eyes?
What have you learned,
From your end of the table.
Notice with chosen words,
Reactions become unstable,
Think you can hold together?
Not something you can staple.
My side of it was sweet,
Like syrup from the maple.
Your mouth is sealed shut,
Only yourself to blame.
Walk the unspoken road,
With others and shame.
Don't shift any position
From yours, this is no game.
Nothing holds you up,
Like a picture without a frame.

Another face in the crowd,
Just the average guy.
Making some proud,
As the days go by.

He isn't popular,
He never will be.
Name known is molecular,
Passed over by many.

Strange to the new average,
Old school: he lives by.
Present, but no leverage.
Just a 90's kinda guy.

Talks, but is unheard of,
Silent, yet everyone hears.
No real talents and nothing above.
Words falls on deaf ears.

He's always there for others.
Friendly type; a curse
Doesn't know why he bothers.
Gets nothing in return.

Writes a few poems,
Hidden stories behind few of them,
Chooses he could show em',
They were nursery rhymes then.

Inspiration is through music;
Escape is his instinct.
The reality that makes him sick
Could anyone blame him?

Other kids get drunk,
Plastered, and ****-faced.
While his dad is complaining,
"A 'C' is a bad grade!"

Feeling like crap,
Any words are "excuses"
Wonders why most of others,
Are seen as so clueless

The answers won't be found,
At least that's what he thinks, so.
Tie him up, hands bound.
Naked and put on a comedy show.

He feels that way everyday,
As the society and people change.
Take the kid out of the 90's,
But on the inside, boils rage.

This Is Me
