OccupyWallStreet : The First Front

The laborious efforts of Liberty
Will not go
Unnoticed
Untelevised revolution
Witnessed
By mute voices
Til the crowd joins in
The media’s immediate
Covering of the story
Takes on a new meaning
Internet live streaming
American Dreaming
Of the Awakening
The world’s been waiting for
Bullhorns blow
As the
The Bull’s horns
Are approached
With a silent crashing
The whole world
Will remember
The 17th of September
Backed against the wall
The public confronted the Wall
Streets filled with peace
Protesters who speak
For the rights of the peopl
The %99
I’m trapped under earth
The sheet of crust
Is too thick
To pick through
Too tough
For hands
Even as rough as mine
I climb
But reach
The impassible
Layer
And pass out
Like faint
Memories
Of times
Overhead
Now I’m under
Stand in
The depths
Of below
Unbeknownst to those
Higher
No one to excavate my soul
They don’t know
What lies beneath their feet
They tread on me
I’m responsible
For this
Reverse archeology
I put my future
Underneath
Only
To fight
With a lack of energy
Lost
From digging
To deep

If it’s true
That you’ll sow
What you reap
I hope
These seeds of me
Will grow
Into something deeper
Than
What lies beneath…
leaning close, your watery, bloodshot eye
attempts to focus, yet fails each time.
your breath belies a day spent working,
as your sterile, whisky soaked breath
chokes my senses.
each word, you force upon my ears,
expelling the horrors of death, your death,
how one day you will not be here,
how your own father, my unknown grandfather,
declined, passed away.
but rather than fatherly advice or comforting words,
you seem intent on drawing tears.
and when finally, the tears do fall,
your befuddled state confuses
their meaning and their source.
lie
there's nothing left of tomorrow.
you've been consumed by your own sorrow

where do I go, where can I stay
I wasn't even sober, for just one day

i'm sick of the lie
it's time to say goodbye.
These scars I wear each tell a tale
of moments I'll never forget
When loves spark, had once left it's mark
and the fates had called in their debt

Where I fell upon a bottle
cut my arm and nearly bled out
I hit my head, thought I was dead
learned something of what life's about

My legs torn by years of abuse
racing horses like all my kin
I'd go down hard, leaving them scarred
the limestone would tear off your skin

But these were offerings of note
in a life spent chasing ideals
Testing extremes, of my own dreams
run down more than once by the wheels

Son you can't live your life afraid
of each danger that comes your way
So play the odds, tempt the **** gods
rise up and face each new born day

When you are but old and feeble
with your grandchild upon your knee
Tell your stories, of life's glories
show him the scars so he can see

A life spent cowering from pain
will  leave you so aching inside
The gift you'd miss, from life's sweet kiss
knowing you never even tried

Life isn't easy. It isn't meant to be. But sometimes, just sometimes we reach out and touch the soul of humanity making it all worthwhile
I asked you what your dreams were, you said they always change
I asked you how that could be, you said they're different everyday
I asked you what your biggest dreams were, the ones i've never known.
You say you want to marry me- here i am, mind blown.

It's sort of a shocking reality
I never thought I'd be with a girl like you
let alone be with YOU.
It's insanity personified.
I thought it could never happen.
told myself it couldnt.
But it has.
and in very drastic ways.
My ignorance
Is no longer blissful
I said "I love you"
And I meant to
I commend you
For not returning the favor
Clearly
You would not
Have meant it
Demented thoughts
Would be brought
To the mind
Of a false lover
But I
Am not bitter
I’d wither
With her
Miscommunication
Communing
With a Miss
Whose kisses
Tell stories
Weak lips
Trying to force
Passion
Though mine
Blazes like a fire
You coldness
Froze me
I recognize
Dislike
Distaste
Dissatisfied
With this stratified
Hate
Hiding beneath
The layers
And presented
As a gift
A curse
Is wrapped beautifully
It used to please
But love’s police
Seized
All the properties
Although
My ill-gotten gains
Will be forgotten
My repression
Of your memory
Will return
As déjà vu
If I see you
In
Another life
