You tell me
I’m not that skinny
My BMI tells me
I’m way too skinny
You tell me
My waist isn’t that small
The internet tells me
My waist is small enough for modeling
You tell me
Everyone has size 2
Research tells me
The average size is size 12
You tell me
I’m not enough
Yet too much

I tell myself
I’m not enough
Yet too much.

The walls –– they listen,
I know it must be true.
If not, then what’s the point
Of all this talking that I do?
I’m not going crazy here,
Trust me, I’m alright.
The walls, they hear my stories,
They understand my plight.
They listen, these walls,
When no one is around.
They keep me sane, these walls do,
They keep me safe and sound.
I don’t know what I’d do
If these walls ever would go tumbling,
Then who would ever listen
To my incessant mumbling?
The walls, they keep me company
They never leave me feeling blue,
So long as I have these four walls,
I know I don’t need you.

Broken Piano

I tried to play a simple song,
a song until it breaks -
Imagining the melodies,
a broken piano makes.

I strike a note, it makes a noise,
a noise of deep despair -
I notice now the noise it makes,
a noise beyond repair.

But do not fear or cower here,
although the noise is strong -
it's just a simple melody,
a broken piano's song.

Spring is like a perhaps hand
(which comes carefully
out of Nowhere)arranging
a window,into which people look(while
people stare
arranging and changing placing
carefully there a strange
thing and a known thing here)and

changing everything carefully

spring is like a perhaps
Hand in a window
(carefully to
and from moving New and
Old things,while
people stare carefully
moving a perhaps
fraction of flower here placing
an inch of air there)and

without breaking anything.

Fresh cherries, just washed—
beads of ruby strewn across
white bowl's shiny gloss—

dainty stems crisscrossed.

I’m sorry I can’t bring you into this world
Wether you were a boy or a girl I’m not ready
My spirit is low and heart heavy
I don’t love myself and it’s unfair
It’s selfish to bring you into a world of despair
I’m a drug addict trying to find peace
In a miserable place where no where feels like home
I’m trying so hard but I still feel like I’m on my own
I wish I could be happy and give you a life worth living
But I’m stuck in a broken tea cup that won’t stop spinning
I wish I could get off and give you my love.
But I’m too young to bring you into a world I’m so unsure of
