Arranged elegantly, decorated with babies breath
Is the face of a girl that joined the ranks of death
Every where, she wore a smile
To help a friend would walk a mile
She’d connect with how you feel,
Always down to keep it real
She’d give you her last meal
Before she let you starve

I knew her since I was about eleven,
Now she stands at the gates of Heaven
And I can only imagine the look on Gods face
When she stepped into His grace
Redefining “Angel face”
For those she left behind
In the wake of suicide
Always on our minds
Since came her time..
I had a friend commit suicide about a week ago and its really been bothering me. She was my first friend in this town, she meant a lot to me...
I am guilty of the sin of luck.
Serendipitously born into wholeness.
My head was filled with stars,
the sun placed in my hands.
And I never wanted more.
Who decreed me the fortunate one?
What stroke of fate, what hand of God?
I am grateful.
but why should I be whole
when so many others are broken?
Always wondered about this. Why are some more fortunate than others?

Been a long time now.
Six grade in fact.
Been along time now since anyone has had my back like you do.
I know I can count on you

Bro we've been through it all.
Bad and good.
When I needed someone you stood by me when no one else would.

As the years pass I realize now.
This is true.
I am truly lucky to have a friend like you.

As grown adults now.
Nothing has changed except age.
Friends like you are unlike any other.
You're more than a friend.
You're my brother
I love you man.

The way his shoulders move in walk
The way he tilts his head in thought
The laughter in his eyes

Enough to make an old man cry

He does them in the same young ways
Just as he did in yesterdays
When he was still a child

Enough to make his old man smile

when you're lonely
and tired
and as honest as you can be
it's because you're scared
not of the dark
or the monsters
but of yourself
and you tell me almost everything
about yourself, about your fears
about the people you call friends
even though they don't pay
the right amount of attention to you
about the things you wish to change
not only about yourself
but the world

that's when i learn more about you
than i've ever known
and being honest myself
i love it
