Here in the dark

Often will I

Listen to crazy notes

Crazy, jazz-filled notes, that can

Move my mind

Stir my soul

As they work their magic

Through the ending of the day

And do you hear

That music too

Is it in someway shared

How I'd love those notes to speak

To you and I

Both together

Holding each other close

In sweet surrender to love

And as I see

In my minds eye

The dazzling, shining, bright

Reflections of brass, I feel

That we are both

Caught in a whirl

As crazy as these notes

That fill the air with sound

And as the tune

Plays on and on

So too I hope will ours

A never ending jazz piece

Written for us

In its own style

And boldly played some day

So the whole wide world can hear

About the love

Between us both

That's crazy and heartfelt

As are all these jazz-filled notes.
Bitterness seems to be the ego of my tongues taste buds
The story of life never really begun
The future is torn by what we have become
I still stand proudly holding congratulation balloons and chewing gum
I pop the bubble as I hum a song
Not noticing the buzzard telling me to move on
The ghost seems to place himself next to my feet
whispering with every step he sees
Trying to show me my deceit
Although I walk careless or maybe hopelessly
Encouraging myself the future is still bright
When in reality it is only fake highlights
Held together with dead ends and a burnt head
We have no other opportunity
Only a possibility of being the lucky one
I lose my fun as I sit here popping my chewing gum
America, when will you step outside of yourself?
When will you realize that one-size does not fit all?
I’d say we’ve outgrown our government,
but freedom of speech is not freedom of consequence.
America, the air is too thin up in your tall towers.
Is it time to dismantle?
I’d be happy living in rubble if everyone felt valued.
America, what do I tell your children
when they ask why we’re going to war?
They will ask, as will the fear in their eyes.
America, I have another question,
have you ever been grabbed by the *****?
America, do you think the world
will be able to see past your new orange glow?
Will they see your citizens pining for progress?
Will they laugh or will they cower
at the sight of us tearing each other apart?
America, you are no longer a melting ***.
You are a child holding a sectioned dinner plate,
and the thought of trying something new
fills you with abhorrence.
America, the world is naturally colorful.
The world might see this, but you do not.
America, a locked door and a loaded gun won’t keep
a nuclear missile from stopping by to visit.
You must know that.
America, how will you end?
Will I be there to watch?

America, are you listening?

Memo, memos on the wall: I remember them all
That led up to this day of diversification
My way of life is about to be changed:
What about us, and how about them

What about homeland security?
  Are we safe from hate?
it's happening all over again: strange judgement call.

It’s cloudy and dreary Wednesday morning: a city mourns
Or is it torn?

It seems like the country refuses, to pay the piper once again
So, his magical flute would lead the children down a path of darkness,
Our hearts are in despair, how we can leave our worries aside:
Rats, they had fought the dogs, and yes they have known to **** the cats

A lesson to be learned from an old believable nursery rhyme
Who hired the Pied piper, must pay paid the man on time.
In country in which we live is more divided than ever.
You’ve made your bed, now lie in it. America
Forgiveness, election, country, America,
She sees me not through me
She hears me but I'm not loud
She feels but I'm not to rough
She trust me as I for her
She feels a little hate
But don't we all
For no one is perfect
My poems may not make sense but they have true meaning to me.
