dear friend do not loose hope
someday the shards of broken pieces
will be lifted out and placed
to create something new
a beautiful tapestry of color
and life lived through pain
to create a beautiful
mosaic
http://hellopoetry.com/poem/817303/shards/
written after reading Rachel's "shards" and written for those who have gone through heartbreak. I've gone through my share and it gets better, even though in the moment it feels like forever.

a sincere wish that, as each morning breaks, we mend
...a ten word bedtime story...

Her eyes remind me of a sunrise,
They're both beautiful,
But if I had choice to choose which one to see every morning,
For the rest of my life,
Her eyes would beat a sunrise any day.

My teary eyes behind these happy reflections
can only be camouflaged for a moment more.
These thoughts burn in my mind like permanent engravings,
scratched on the surface. Etched into my brain.
Attempting to find the love that was once there.
That love, consuming every ounce of my body,
is even too great for this pain to use anymore, for happiness.
So my eyes continue to cry until I'm forced to forget about it all.
Until my eyes are no longer camouflaged, and my pain becomes a part of me.

Old fashioned love songs play in the distance.
Hear the soft crackle of the record player.
That would be my favorite sound,
if it wasn't for you
sitting here
conversing with me.
Under the lights, sitting under a birch tree,
what a blissful night this has come to be.

Just us,
those last moments,
(not that we
expected them to be).

Those final words,
mundane,
with Ok
and See you
tomorrow then
or some such like.

Then the departure;
no last embrace,
no hint of final going
into the far off sunset.

Just us, my son,
those last words.

I cannot recall
your first words spoken
nor now your last
with any precision.

Your death was not
my idea or decision,
nor yours to decide
or to know it seems.

Surreal maybe
as in half sleeps
or waking dreams.

I talk to you still
even though you've gone
to other realms
beyond my sense so far.

Sometimes I sense you
passing out of my eye's
corner view
like some shooting
(did I see that?)
star.
A FATHER TALKS TO HIS DEAD SON.

I saw that glance
A short-lived romance.
I saw that smile
Think of me again, once in a while.
I saw that stride
A sudden nervous longing for
Our paths to coincide.

She will lose herself in a book
and find herself in poetry

She thinks that religion is a sacrilege
and that long showers are sacred

She makes love when she's tired
and never tires of making love

She is irreverent in her humor
and pious in her gravity

She is diligent in completing her work
and ambitious of her quest for leisure

She is the personification of romanticism
and the embodiment of compassion

She exists harmoniously in my mind

There is a silence that binds,
and a type of silence that frees the soul.

Be a lover of silence
that leads to purity of heart.

An inner silence that leads
to a deep freedom in a chaotic world.

A silence birthed out of a chosen solitude
that helps me connect to life.

My heart contains an inner chamber,
where silence is cultivated,
so I can walk free no matter where I am.

A silence that contains serenity and peace
like the hush that fell the world,
when death lead to resurrection.
Written while reading Thomas Merton's Contemplative Prayer.

rained-on parade
Broken conversations,
empty lungs,
doors half open,
hearts almost out of love.

We used to talk of how
we used to be infinite.
But now every second now feels
like a stroke against an unforgiving current.

Our conversations broke
as the flaws of our souls
fell through the cracks of this glass foundation.

These upset words that escaped you
left the air around me a little sad,
a little awake,
and with a lot of echoes.

My lungs went empty
talking you down.

I left the door open for you.
So you can walk in
and slip in quietly-
I won't say a word.

And this heart could never go empty,
not mine.
Yours,
at this point,
I know not.

Flowers never lost their color
as long as you walked this earth.
Only fools rush in
But I don't believe
I don't believe
I could still fall in love with you

I will love you till I die
And I will love you all the time
So please put your sweet hand in mine
And float in space and drift in time

All the time until I die
We'll float in space, just you and I

All I want in life's
a little bit of love to take the pain away.

This song is beautiful and it plays in my head.

It makes me happy.

I don't want it to just be a drink or two.
I want to spend the day walking with you.
I want to spend the day talking with you.
I want to kiss you in broad daylight.
And then I want to go for a drink with you.
And I want to keep talking.
I want these eight days to be the beginning.
After day turns to night I want to go home with you.
And I want to see how uncomfortable that ****** couch really is.
I bet we could make it something beautiful.
I know you could.
I want to listen to you spill your heart out at 4am.
And I want to learn some sort of nice thing on guitar.
And I want you to kiss me until we're not separate people anymore.
I just want to be with you babe..
And I kind of hope you have the same thing in mind too..
