Intent on shells
she's a girl
where screech the gulls.

Age she kills
makes sandhills
breaks the walls.

*Whispering fog on a dense morning breathes,
muting thoughts of where the daylight has gone
Silhouette tree branches silent and gray
wave on tepid winds,
misted endeavors weavimg desperate desires

Loss has claimed every color I have seen,
stark realities in the visions now cast on my heart
Emptiness leaks upon unsuspecting dreams,
imagination finds nothing beyond this aching chest,
merely opaque outlines with little meaning

Vast is this enclosure that harbors my eyes in caged sight,
fence posts and wire strung in patterns of locked decisions
aimlessly meandering a vacuous expanse
Chained link desires that can’t find the gate,
only mailboxes of memories never sealed or stamped

I walk this lonely path as it is my job, my destiny
A soul’s responsibility to wonder with longing eyes
where you might be on this,
my day with no sun, no color, no beauty, no love
And I miss you, for you were all of those things to me

Change is constant in our lives

Your perception of yourself
Affects your vibe so let only
The good vibes flow freely

Real transformation requires
Real soul searching honesty
To be your true loving self

Be the reason you feel awake
Elevated empowered and magical
Peeling back the layers of your ego

Spiritually its important to forgive
Those who have harmed or hurt you
So that you find your own inner peace

It seems nothing is impossible in our lives

An angel stares into the sky
In the form of a little girl
Born mentally ill,
          The sky which is the
Inner eye of God scatters the spectacle;
        The people ignorant and blind
Pass the little girl, homeless.

All you readers:
Inside your safe worlds
The little girl almost becomes
Visible, only for a moment.

I knew he was dying
I thought maybe a few weeks left
So still and so quiet
This man whose laugh made us all laugh
The man who always had ideas
Where to go, what to do for a laugh
Always a laugh
Sharer of adventures
Partner in crime
For thirty-six crazy years
Dying before my eyes and
Taking much of my life with him

He'd had a massive stroke a year earlier
They said he'd die then
But he defied them and recovered a lot
Proper conversations and learning to walk
Then they discovered that he had cancer
And here we were five weeks later
"How long are you gonna be in here?" I asked
He turned his head and looked hard at me
"I die next week," he said
As though he had an appointment

He got three days, not a week
I cried seeing him dying
But I was relieved for him when he did
Now my old friend is gone
And it's a duller world without him

                                       By Phil Roberts
It's 3 years since my sharer of adventures died and he's still missed.

The blue sails of my bedroom
Offer me the solid protection
From the crazy winds that blow
Through my open wide searing
Eyes showing me the intolerable
Future that seems to be my fate

The yellow canary sits so quietly
Watching with a furrowed brow
While panic hovers red rainbows
With an ease that sound terrifies
Heartbeats thumping way too fast
And purple clouds plume skyward

The black dog beckons his spiteful
Realm into the darkening evil night
Again alive to speak dangerous words
To a frightened troubled forlorn soul
And under the blue I try to set my sail
Through stinking sludge sticking glue
I think the political phrase is " her position is untenable"

wearing her tears
on my shoulder;
a badge of honor.
Let her cry...for she's a lady...let her dream...for she's a child....

Giving flowers to a friend for no reason. Encouraging someone who feels they have reached a crossroad. Reminding someone that they are loved. These are simple acts of kindness that are part of giving joy.
