Some will take the week off,

me,

I'll try to sneak off

there was a moment in time
when death sat beside me on a park bench
and he had rested his hand on the gap between us

i,

too,

rested my hand there
and brushed my fingers against his

and for a chaste moment
i savoured the warmth of his skin
and intertwined my hand with his

but he stood up

and left

and maybe he knew,

it was for the better.
it was the right option

Living from the longing
In your heart
Is something learned
It takes practice
It's sweet
It's innocent

Can I do it?
I don't know.
My longing
Is to know this
Feeling
Vs sadness or depression.
Coping with a yearning but learning to live from it instead

Alarm

I don’t wind my clock

anymore, last time it

rhymed and chimed

with the vibration of

a bomb waking me

prematurely from a

  dream that turned

   into a nightmare.
Baiting
a feeling

Passion
is tracked

Luring
the moment

Setting
the trap

Eyes
look upon you

Cage
set on fire

Death
in the ashes

Preying
— desire
