kiss me under the bougainvillea tree
let the leaves fall on our heads
as our lips hesitantly touch
and one pink leaf will land on your nose,
and our lips will curve into a rhyming smile
i had to include my love for bougainvilleas in at least one poem :)
Coconuts fall behind me
and
As I gaze across the sea
Feels like I've been here
For an eternity

How I miss that feel
of
That concrete, glass and steel
Suited enslavement
Trudging down the pavement

Oceans of faces consigned
to
Microwave meals on their mind
Future holidays in the sun
Oh, the anticipation

Coconuts fall behind me
and
As I gaze across the sea
Feels like I've been here
For an eternity
Kiss me
Kiss me, baby
Like a kitten, tiny, short and sweet
Kiss me
Nibble on my shoulder,
Starting every time we meet

Tell me
Tell me, baby
Every little thing you want to hear
Tell me
Just close your eyes and listen
I'll repeat them in your ear

Hold me
Hold me, baby
Tightly, look me deep into your eyes
Hold me
Say everything that ever worked
Then take me by surprise

Take me
Take me, baby
Toss me, turn me, flip me upside down
Take me
Softly, like I wanted
Later, drive me through the ground

Feel me
Feel me, baby
Touch me, do me up and way back down
Feel me
Your two hips can be the king
My hips can be his crown
Good-by, proud world, I'm going home,
Thou'rt not my friend, and I'm not thine;
Long through thy weary crowds I roam;
A river-ark on the ocean brine,
Long I've been tossed like the driven foam,
But now, proud world, I'm going home.

Good-by to Flattery's fawning face,
To Grandeur, with his wise grimace,
To upstart Wealth's averted eye,
To supple Office low and high,
To crowded halls, to court, and street,
To frozen hearts, and hasting feet,
To those who go, and those who come,
Good-by, proud world, I'm going home.

I'm going to my own hearth-stone
Bosomed in yon green hills, alone,
A secret nook in a pleasant land,
Whose groves the frolic fairies planned;
Where arches green the livelong day
Echo the blackbird's roundelay,
And ****** feet have never trod
A spot that is sacred to thought and God.

Oh, when I am safe in my sylvan home,
I tread on the pride of Greece and Rome;
And when I am stretched beneath the pines
Where the evening star so holy shines,
I laugh at the lore and the pride of man,
At the sophist schools, and the learned clan;
For what are they all in their high conceit,
When man in the bush with God may meet.
She spent every day under the cypress tree
Listening to the ocean in all its glory
The people passing in all their hurry
The birds singing in all their harmony

She spent every day beside the ocean
Wondering why she feels so broken
Wishing she could remain there, frozen
Silently wasting away, regretting the paths that she had chosen

She spent hours upon hours with her feet dangling off the cliff
Convincing herself that if she fell she would never be missed
Believing happiness was just a jump away, a dive into the mist
Hours until sunset then she was inclined to resist

Tomorrow is just the same, I shall watch her debate
Watching her from a distance, implicitly afraid
Admiring the same soul that she chooses to hate
I watch her and I wait, day after day.
Just a memory of a lost soul.
you tapped my shoulder
and whispered in my ear

"thats wrong. fix it"

my gaze followed
your long, boney finger
down to the skewed papers
on the desk next to mine

i simply shook my head and answered with
"no, thats not mine to touch"

i started to ignore
your fervent tapping and whispering
but it moved up
to screaming and shaking my body
i couldnt hold myself back any longer

i quickly grabbed the papers
and filed them
making sure they were neat
before setting them back down

you were happy
it was casual
it was normal

so i started to
live by your rules
letting your gentle taps and whispers
tell me what to do

i would fold my gym clothes
in the same order every day
i would sanitize my hands
before and after every single class
i would fix peoples binders, paper, and pencils
just to please you

then it changed

others started to laugh
mess up the clothes i neatly folded
push my papers out of order
hold me back
as they made everything crooked
watching me struggle against their hands
as i tried to break free
to fix it all

you were screaming
telling me how those fingertips
were touching my body
infecting me

you were violently shaking me
saying how wrong the mess was
that i had to fix it

fix it
fix  it
fix it

i still do as you say
abide by your rules
the laughing and taunting
has disappeared now
as i freely fix my things

theres the occasional question and statement
"why dont you just leave it?"
"it isnt that important"
"the mess wont affect you"

none of them know
of you looming behind me
a strict ruler of my mind
telling me they were wrong

no
none of them will know
they wouldnt never understand
how important your pure touches and words are
to the filthy, messy place
that is my mind
Stuck on this path
thats filled with deja vu
I cant seem to break free
to find something new

Over and over
the day repeats
file in
and take the same seat

The weekend
is my only reprieve
a little bit of time
for me to feel free

This forever present
monotony
feels like
my worst enemy

Each morning i awake
sick in bed
maybe its because
part of me is dead

I just need
a lively spark
to kickstart
my slowing heart

Im in need
of my drugs
challenge, adventure
and love

Going through
serious withdrawals
it feels like sickness
as the wilderness calls

Nature is
my holiest sanctum
where I go
in search of freedom

I need to go
get my fix
its built me up
brick
by
brick
If I were next to you
this dawn awakening
I would kiss you
hold you
cuddle you
gently lay my hand on your tummy
your beautiful body held tight
and whisper gently
that I love you
with all my heart
im drifting in and out
floating around
this body does not belong to me

the clench of my hands
physical touch
its all so distant
this body does not contain me

my vision blurs
voices fade
this body is not helping me

the clothes i put on
hats i wear
the glasses that rest on my nose
this body does not represent me

staring in mirrors
clawing at skin
this body will be the death of me
may you learn to be brave
and may you always run carefree,
certain of your worth and the power inside you.
may your song be your own,
and when your song is different from the rest,
sing louder.
may you never forget that you’ve always had wings,
and may they carry you far.
