World filled with lies

Compassion I'll come to despise

As I realize everything
I've been told has been lies

No one knows
The damage inside
Except for the demons within the
Minds of broken souls

I took a pen and paper
to write my feelings
                                     but
  ended up wetting the paper
   and breaking the pen

         I became consumed by
           the hatred I felt.
            
                Waves of rage came
      crashing against my heart.


All I could do was bleed
through my eyes as
I realized

                    It was all a lie.

The light tail of the tail light leaves me blue in the dark hues
… when it carries away what I belong to…
Unfolding the tar-black sky of asphalt, the longest arm of missing you…
My body is now the distance between us, big and empty,
The bigger, the emptier, thinner than air…
As time piles up, my ladders turn into pointless meters
Measuring the ratio of nothing in everything

blue
is supposed to be
a sad color,
a calm color
the color of gentle waves and tears

but with you

blue was my happy color
the color of your excited eyes,
your favorite flowers
the blueberries you loved,
so dearly
and when we kissed
you left me
in a haze of
wonderful blue
