I will tell you now friend,
That I will never be afraid to get dirt under my fingernails
To dig up with my bare hands
the you that I know you buried.
To keep your true self a protected treasure,
To see if someone will put forth the effort in digging.

All you have to do is give me the map.

Help me find something that makes my soul sit still.

When mortality flees and I am nothing more than bones and dirt,
Will I begin to feel you on a level my humanity is blocking?

Can I see the parts that you always felt were too ugly and too broken to show another soul?

I want to know a rawness that no one has ever known.

I felt alone in the night
And I shouted in my mind
Give me a sign!
The wind went still and I felt like an imbecile.
Then the clouds moved past
And I was scared by the sudden moonlight cast,
I turned around, smiled and said,
"Hello to you too, Universe."
The moon is bright tonight.

A teary eyed girl
Searching for her answers in the sky.
Stars roll off her cheeks
In a glistening reflection
And all she questions is
Why?
Why can't I find someone with whom
I can make a true connection?
I just want a best friend.

The world's asleep
But the wind whispers things to me
I doubt any other human being ever could.

The sun's asleep
And the moon babysits the stars
With me.

Keeping me company
Since there is no one else
Besides my cup of coffee.
I'm lost.
