We must grow together yet never change
For one thing love will never do is
Ask for us to be something
Other than who we really are
Carey Jan 2019
Don’t... don’t let me just fall in love
Think back to the days when one
Could never believe enough
I need you to lift me up

Tear... tear down all the walls I built
When silence consumed my guilt
Bring light to the darkest hour
Consume me with all your power

You’ve never loved if you skipped the fall
But don’t dare to miss it when it calls

Rise... rise up from this lonely night
Don’t ever regret love’s flight
Forget what was once misused
Take me to my only truth

You can’t have love if you’re afraid to fall
Just don’t hang up when you hear my call
This is about a person who is falling in love, but is conflicted because of what has happened to him/her in the past, because love or being with someone you love can't last forever.  But ultimately they know that it is all worth it.

If you have never experienced the fall
Then you have never felt the rise to love

And one does not begin nor end with the other,
It is, my fiends, one of the most beautiful circles in life

Music is your lover,
Picks you up when crawling
The right string of notes
May just stop you from falling

She is the love you always needed
The tears you never cried
Silence the noise that crashes in
She will always take your side

Turn her up slowly,
You slip under the covers
Unwinding in her warm embrace
Like the arms of a lover

You can't hide,
But surely need to run
She follows close the tracks you make
Sweeping clean, each one by one

No one can replace her,
Don't try to understand
It's one man's untold love affair
Only she can comprehend

You don’t always need to understand those you love, you just need to stand with them.

Love has the ability to both take your breath away and bring you back to life.

Love is never casual.

Love is slow dancing in the kitchen.

Love can bring a smile to your lips, even amidst the greatest heartbreak.

The twisted, weathered maple in my front yard doesn't care what the passersby may say
about his missing branches and hanging limbs

He drinks sweetly the nutrients he needs
He breaths unweighted without thought
He absorbs the warm rays that fall around him
He grows in all directions, without restriction, hugging the wires as if to welcome them into his space
He sleeps when it is dark and wakes up when the dew starts to glisten

That strong, grounded maple in my front yard
I didn't know
I had so much to learn
