Consider my arms your refuge.
You are always welcome
and always safe there.
Come into my arms and
I will come into you.
Separate, we are people;
together we will be a poem.
We will create each other.
We shall be as complete
as a perfect villanelle,
whenever you come into
the refuge of my arms.

My lover is ill and lies far away from my touch.

I challenge you to write a sadder sentence.

My lover is ill and lies far away from my touch.

Give it your best shot.

How far is it really from the murdered children
dead in the snow at Wounded Knee
to the crows eating the frozen eyes of German soldiers
before the gates of Leningrad?
How far from the hanging flesh of Hiroshima
to the piles of bodies at My Lai?
I have watched the news for 50 years
and it all seems like reruns to me.
So on the advice of a frisky, fearless wise woman
I stopped and now although death and destruction persist
I am free to concentrate on the things that matter to me.
Anyway, if the world ends, someone will let me know.

teddy bear hugs and butterfly kisses,
my love is covered in these simple wishes...
I want my friend and loved one to know,
that I am thinking of her and loving her so...

teddy bears with their arms spread wide,
waiting to embrace you and not have to hide...
funny ones and plush ones so precious and sweet,
have been sent in messages everyday this week...

butterfly kisses are so delicate and neat,
when I get one of these it's a real treat...
they come in my way with a simple flutter,
letting me know there is no one like you, no other...

so I hope you won't mind getting one more,
cause I'm sending you my love that's for sure...
I hope it gives you a boost to a wonderful day,
may you be blessed with the suns gentle rays...

these teddy bear hugs and butterfly kisses,
are sent from me with so many good wishes...
have all my love and remember to smile,
this is sent to you from across the miles...

love you butterfly <3
dedicated to my beautiful butterfly :)

Trip Through Time
Stalingrad- Germany wanted control,
But they weren't going to get it. Silly men,
Unaware that they would freeze to the bone
In those harsh Russian mountains.
Is oil worth it?

Torch- the British thought it was a simple plan.
It was, but barely. The soft underbelly,
The Mediterranean to France, through Italy?
Kick the Axis out of North Africa?
Piece of cake.

D-Day- a finale? Maybe. The ships and planes at the ready,
A possible surprise. Parachutes
And men on foot storming the beaches of Normandy.
Shots fired, push east where they belong.
Coming from the North and South. Cinch like a corset
Strings are drawn against the axis.
Good luck holding up your empire in this day and age.
