On our summer lawn you lie curved,
Like a snake warming in the sun;
When I turn on the spigot at mid-day
How hot thy water doth run!

Sometimes you're hooked to a sprinkler,
Where the kids ran when they were small;
We wonder: where did the time go?
And just can't remember at all.

To our home by the river you came
And reached where the vegetables grew;
You watered them gently all season,
Out back, where the blue heron flew.

Gashed by the mower's cruel blade
You leaked: we thought you were gone:
But I got the parts to save you--
Thank heaven for Aubuchon.

Shorter, old friend, always there,
We still bring you in from the cold
To your special place under the work bench,
To store you in neat coils rolled.

Stretched out full length on the blacktop,
I raise one end towards the sky
And drain the last water inside you
To put you away, safe and dry.

I pray as I wind you in autumn
The dark winter we will survive;
My heart is already yearning
For springtime to come back alive.

To water our plants on the north side,
To feed the cedar hedge row,
To wash winter sand from the driveway,
Left by the last melting snow.

So sleep well, companion of years
In your circle there on the floor;
My the freezing days pass us by quickly,
May we join you for one season more.
Already getting ready for winter.  Don't' go reading too much into this--sometimes a hose is just a hose...
Hello my darling child
I have waited so long for you
I'm sorry that I didn't move faster
Or that I tried to wait for the 'right time'
when no such thing exists
and yet
it exists simultaneously all at once
because to have you
will always be the 'right time'
but I am sorry
so very sorry
that it has taken so long
because I will not get to have you
for as long as I'd like
and you will not get to have me
for as long as you may still need me
it will be longer still
until I can know you
sweet child
and I may never get to hold you
time and life and everything
can be so fickle with dreams
but I want you to know
that by far
you are my favorite dream
the memory I would gladly make
for all the lifetime that I have
to give all to you
my precious hero
you will save the world
because even without you
I still have you
and you have already
saved me
her temperature read 102.5 Fahrenheit
after I put the thermometer in
I knew she was hot
but ****
she got all wet
and shivered
grimaced like she was in pain
called out deities names
I thought she was dying
clawing at my back
trying to take me with her
I got all concerned
gave her mouth to mouth
resuscitating
and pushed on her breast
her eyes rolled back in her head
and she came
around!!!!
She sews her wounds with silver thread
Not all storm clouds bear silver linings, you were mislead
Silver scars shimmer in the sun
Beautiful reminders of the battles that she's won
Beautiful souls are often those who've suffered most
Shall be
Remembered
Taken in with every touch
Into my very last nerve
Every fiber of my being
Make me whole my
Soul find heaven
My life have meaning

That last first kiss
I shall savor taste
I shall be united for once
When I taste her lips
Meant for only
Me to find
From the beginning

Just her
And
Paradise
Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on that sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
