Hearts were racing and feet were running
Her trying to catch up in her white sneakers
Him holding onto her hand
With a smile when he looked back

Laughter was astounding and panting in between
Her in that little white dress, a small veil over her head
Him in that neat shirt, sleek jeans and a stunning white bow tie
"This is crazy..." they said

"Ready?"
"Not really."

Hearts were racing but feet were walking
Their hands clutched together, ever so tightly
Down the aisle they go
Towards an altar that they've failed to believe in

Laughter melted into little giggles and panting in between*
With minimal witnesses
They made silly vows
And exchanged simple rings

"I do."*

And they shared a kiss
One like no other
One that marked their ultimate bliss

"I love you." she whispered
"I know." he chuckled
And she hit him with the tiny bouquet
"Unbelievable." she scoffed in joke

"I know."
He said, gently
And he kissed her forehead
"Tell me all about it."

                                                           *And they laughed...
                                                         Ever so happily...

The dark sky whistles a midnight tune
The breeze caressing her cheeks
Her cigarette burning in between her fingers
As she started to sing

She sang songs
That reminded her of you
Flaming youthful emotions
Sincere and true

A single tear trails gently down her face
As she whispers the line
To the midnight sky

*I miss you...

As the theme park gate opens
Sounds of excitement filled the compound
Little children, teenagers, grown ups
Crowding the lines to rides and snack bars

Joyful chatters
Nonstop laughters
Screams of thrill
Cheeky giggles

I go in circles to bring joy
Especially when I stop for the ones at the highest point
The smiles on their faces
Feeling like they are on the top of the world

Yet...

A lone stranger wanders around
Climbed into one of the pods
Locked himself in there
His eyes watching the scenery blankly

Tears started rolling down his cheeks
Meekly, gently, discreetly
But I see it
I feel the droplets
As it drips almost too carefully..

I felt his pain
The sadness within
So maybe...
Just maybe...
The peak would comfort him
It will give the best view
I'll provide it

But...

The round will have to end
I'll have to bring him back down to the ground
And he will have to return home

Please...
Can we go for another round?
Just one more...
So I could show him that view that I can provide
Just one more time...
Even if his tears would rust me
Or even if it means he still has to leave
At least I know
And I'll remember

*I've made him happy

The scorching sun
Burns his every hope
Then the moon comes by
To soothe his soul

Because it pains her
To watch him ablaze
By every burning flame
That always comes his way

She is a willing silent companion
To his every woe
Even if she would fall apart
It is him she worries of most

Waves speak
to the shore
in rippled verse
scattered shell
strands of kelp

in the sand
each visitor
inscribes a story
sandpiper, wigeon, crow
raccoon, otter, coyote

I read each one
as I write my own

collarbones kissed with lace ,
a sweet song nibbling at my earlobes,
falling into safety nets
and blessings being whispered like
prayers in the night time.

this is love.
this is being alive.
this is being aglow.

Hesitation.

Don't worry,

I've been here before,

lying in canopies
of 'where'd you go' and
'what have I done?"

I'm not immune to love-fall
or love-hope
   or even the fall-out -

and there's no
modesty to my
afflictions

don't worry,
I've been here before
and I'm not willing
   to
     wait
       in
          hesitation.

They say
Don't dwell
But in it,
The past, I fell

Slipping, sliding
Remembering, crying
From the hurt I was reeling,
The pain of the Past.

Leave me be, I beg you,
Leave me out to sort this through
You shred through my present,
Thus my hope for my future is too few.

Baggage

It will always hurt,
the pain will never go away.

But.
Knowing what is known now,
Knowing the hope given for the future,
replaces some of the hurt, with hope.

Memories are never to be forgotten,
yet the past is the past.

Dwelling on what can't be changed,
hinders the continuation of life.

Picking up the baggage will take some time.
Moving on all together will still be the hardest thing to accomplish.

But when the final bag is put on the truck,
and all that has to be done is to drive away,
I will smile, reach over to the dial, and turn on the car radio.

As I pull out of the driveway, the radio will be at its highest,
because looking back, I'll be able to say,
That the music had never faded away.
Thank you for a sense of peace and hope for the future.
Never forget that I, as well as Mom, is always here.
The friendship may have died,
but the sisterhood lives on forever,
even if spoken words are never shared between.
