The poet lives two lives.
One on the outside,
And one in their mind.

When you look in their eyes
You could see an abyss.

If you looked long enough
You could sink into it.

But most people don’t see it.

Take the time to read the words, though,
And you would know for sure.

The poet lives in two different worlds.
A little escape from the madness.
Or maybe, into.
There are hearts that are so tender, Lord

Hearts that are so rare
that every little grievance
causes pain that we can't bear

Oh, hear our cry,
dear Lord we pray

Give comfort and assurance

that though we cry
you are near by
to strengthen our endurance

Matthew 24:13
But he who endures shall be saved
They expect her to smile
  Even when she's all shattered

They expect her kindness to everyone
  Even if they hurt her

They expect her to be there for them
But deal with her own problems alone

They expect her to be the same
 Even if they change

They expect her to be  brave
Even when she's all broken from inside

They think she can do but they'll never know
 What she's going through

They expect that she remain calm
When they can't even control themselves

They expect alot from her
They don't know that she's mad but with lots of emotions feelings and expectations hidden inside her

  Sometimes she expects a little
Because she forgets that " expectations hurt ".

Forgive but don't forget my dear
Forgive to set your heart free

But don't you dare forget
How you were wrecked so completely

Remember blood stained lips
Tears streaming down your face

Forgive the words they spit
Forgive the names they claimed

Don't forget the pain
The deep sorrow you felt inside

Pretend it's all okay
Pretend until it's true

Hide all the tear stained pillow cases
Hide the scars that they inflicted

No one will ever know how bad you hurt
You can smile and laugh to hide it

Never forget this moment
How you felt in the past

Never trust again
Now you know better than that
childhood trauma

Thoughts of you
I cannot consign to words
The day we met,
The nights I want to forget
You were the fire that
Turned me into ash
I was a dream
That never came true
And as I watched you slip away
Before my eyes
Far, far away from my reach
That I realized,
I couldn’t keep something that
Wasn’t meant for me
But in my heart
I prayed for you to stay
And on a rainy day,
We did finally fade away

One of my first poems that was also published in Us Magazine, The News International: http://magazine.thenews.com.pk/mag/detail_article.asp?id=8048&magId=9#
if a poet falls in
love with you be
prepared to be
written about

in every possible way
from the way your eyes
sparkle under the moon

to how your lips form
that ever-so perfect smile
it’s the little things that
poets write about

the little things about you
makes a poet want to write
and write until their hand breaks
