I Wish She Were Mine
Andrew Robertson Aug 2014
As I watch closely,
Expertly stalking my prey,
She still amazes me.
Her brilliant blue eyes
Are deep as the ocean floor and
As wide as the starry sky.
Her confident walk ablaze,
So stunning and rare,
Enchant all who gaze.
Her vivacious body,
So curvy and precise,
What a Hottie!
She is simply divine.
If I could have one thing,
I'd wish she were mine!

Game Time
Andrew Robertson Aug 2014
Board games, card games
your games, my games,
I can't get enough.
Checkers, Chess, Stratego,
Battleship, Clue and Risk
require such strategy
and a taste of boldness.
For Twister and the Slip-n-Slide,
you need flexibility and dare.
Monopoly, Ultimate Frisbee
and Slaughter Ball all require
a good amount of aggression,
where Senet, Operation and Connect Four
only need clever patience.
For Jenga and Topple,
you need the skill of a gymnast.
Rummy, Gin, Go Fish, Blackjack and
War, you need only an opponent.
Now, go play!

Undying Love
Andrew Robertson Aug 2014
As I looked upon her,
The hourglass tipped
And I knew my time was running out.

I lay there,
Thinking of all the things I could've said,
Somehow missing the one thing I wished to say.

And as I slipped away
into the ever-growing darkness,
I screamed those words I longed to say,
Knowing they would never leave my mouth!

My Love
Andrew Robertson Aug 2014
Twenty years or more ago
When I was just a boy,
You came to me in a dream
And filled my heart with joy.

You made me laugh.
You made me cry.
All in all,
Time passed me by.

I traveled around the world
Searching for my sweet dove.
I searched in vain since time began,
But you were here all along, my love.

I love you more and more
Each and every day.
The very thought of you
Just brightens up my day.

Each time I close my eyes,
I see you up above.
Each time I see you,
I see my only love!

You Stole My Heart
Andrew Robertson Aug 2014
You stole my heart,
but you don't even  know my name.
Your enchanted eyes imprisoned me,
and in that paralyzing moment,
I became yours.

You stole my heart,
but didn't even care.
You're the main attraction
everywhere you go and never notice
your throng of admirers anymore.

You stole my heart...
and I want it back!

Dreams
Andrew Robertson Aug 2014
What if you could control what
happens in your dreams?
Would you test your limits
or go all out in a fantasy?

You could fly high as you dare to go.
You could swim to the depths of the
ocean and wander the streets of Atlantis.
You could dance with the stars.
You could play hopscotch
in the constellations.

Would you travel to all those
exotic places you've never been?
Would you wish for riches, glory
and a lavish lifestyle?

You could take the Rainbow Bridge
to Valhalla and enjoy a feast
in Odin's Great Hall.
You could even be imbued
with all the power of Thor.

Would you become a super-villian
and ravage the streets?
Would you take another route and become
a hero to save and protect the streets?
Would you wreck havoc on this
world with all those "natural" disasters?

The greater your power,
the greater your adventure...
And the greater chance for it to
turn into a nightmare.
Will you invoke that power
and become your nightmare?

Will you play it safe and
dream of something peaceful?
Would you avoid adventure
altogether?

Whatever you choose, make your
dream your own!

A Hero's Philosophy
Andrew Robertson Aug 2014
God begins to darken the sky
near the end of each day.
The Linnet serenades the
Guardian Sun with it's sweet song
as God lays him down to sleep.
The most beautiful guardian
rises with all her friends
with ever-watchful eyes.
The Moon, in all her glorious wonder,
takes watch over us.
They are our Shepherds;
our protectors!
Those of us who hear
their call and rise to the
challenges may join the other
heroes in the night sky and
help guide our next generation.
Choose carefully and lead your
life with honor and courage
and you, too, may be called upon.
Will you answer the summons?
Will you rise to the
challenges that await you?

I like to make myself
believe that you're my girl.
The truth is far too painful.
You never call or even text
anymore and your one word
replies are few and far between.
You're always busy with work,
school or friends and never want
to spend any time with me.
It's tiring, I must agree,
but the truth is devastating.
I fear what becomes of me when I
accept that you have not been
mine for quite a while.
I like to make myself believe
that you're my girl
and I know I'll never
be able to see you again.
Can't you see?
I need to believe in something.
I chose you long ago...

The Moons Enchantment
Andrew Robertson Jul 2014
Last night, I saw the largest
and most enchanting smile
I ever recall seeing.
Large, yet cute, dimples with
a soft reassuring look.
Her eyes were the brightest,
most vivid stars in the sky.
I've seen many amazing
sights in my life,
but having our sky actually
smiling at me tops them all.
It was paralytic beauty
and wonder and truly
the most enchanting smile!

Christmas Brew
Andrew Robertson Jul 2014
Christmas, Christmas time is far.
Guess I'll go to the bar.
I'll drink a drink
that's filled to the brink.
With fizzles & nizzles at the top
and bubbles that never pop.
I'll savor the taste as it goes down smooth.
It really is the best tasting *****.
So, Santa, when you get here,
bring a keg of this most excellent beer.
Stop by my place last
and we'll have a blast,
as we drink our way through
this great tasting brew.
Tell Mrs Claus that you'll be home late
and make sure you get your story straight.
You worked all night & want to relax,
so you're having a few drinks with
your old pal, Max.

Falling
Andrew Robertson Jul 2014
Falling...
Mesmerized, but still falling.

I've been falling for an age.

The last thing I remember
is a Goddess with
unparalleled beauty
gazing at me with wonder.

She had the most
magnificent eyes.

The deepest blue filled
with scattered starlight
and a slight swirl.

It's as if she had
complete galaxies
in each eye which are
portals to the unknown.

She ripped and trapped
my very soul and
I am lost forever,
falling through her
glorious wonder.

I feel invincible
when you're near.

Your smile is
perfection;
brighter than any sunrise.

Your sparkling emerald
eyes pierce me
like a dagger.

That adorable laugh
makes me melt
into my seat.

I am clay
in your hands,
ready to be molded.

Even in this
maidenly form,
I am invincible.

Extraordinary!

Rome, Greece, London,
Paris, Ireland and the Bahamas...

The most romantic places
in the world all share
amazing beauty and
plenty of wonders,
but they all lack the
most beautiful ingredient
for their perfection.

You, my love!

In all the places
in all the world,
there's no place I'd rather be
than in your arms.

Man-Eater
Andrew Robertson Jul 2014
You took me to the movies
and bought me dinner
even though you knew all along
that I was a ***** little sinner.

You promised me the world,
but I'll settle for your homemade lasagna.
Nothing in this world can compare
to your miraculous lasagna.

You're a ninja in the kitchen
and no one's got a clue
how you can be so flawless
at everything you do.

You stole my heart
then stabbed my eyes.
I can't believe I fell for
every one of your lies.

You took off my head
so you could eat my brain.
Then you stripped and torched the rest
and ate most of my remains.

The wolves came and ate
what you did not
and when you left that place,
I wasn't even an afterthought.

As you search for your next victim,
you feel that familiar hunger.
Even after all those years,
still, you seem to be getting younger.

The Void
Andrew Robertson Jul 2014
This darkness consumes all.

With it's insatiable appetite,
it feeds.

It never rests or tires.
It is everywhere and
it is growing every moment.

In this unfathomable darkness,
there is nothing!

Not a star in the sky,
if there even is a sky.
Not a twinkle from an eye.

The air reeks of death,
but there are no sounds
to be heard.

I'm weightless,
suspended in this void
as if I were put here,
waiting to be used.

Heartbreak
Andrew Robertson Jul 2014
Another heart; another break.
With each new face; new friends;
new smile I see, I feel myself
dying a little more inside.

I'm constantly
overflowing with love
and so eager to offer it
all for a little happiness.

I crush harder than
ice in a blender
and I fall,
with no hesitation,
harder than a giant
from the top of a beanstalk.

Another pair of sapphires
staring at me and a smile
more beautiful than
Aphrodite, herself!

Time for another
Earth-shattering
heartbreak as I fall,
yet again, for someone
I can never have.

laid back and I appear
to be happy
having no life.

I don't need a girlfriend.
I don't need a wife.
I don't need adventure

I don't need attention

All I need is a smile and
to be happy being me.
I don't need much,

Sweet Memories
Andrew Robertson Jul 2014
I arrived just in time
to see my dream girl drive away.
She drove by me waving and
smiling that amazing smile,
All I could do was smile back.
Knowing that, in that instant,
I was the one on her mind...
It was enough for me.
Oh yes, I'm easy.
I think of her smile and
an explosive kiss that
will never come to pass.
May you all make sweet memories
on this joyous holiday
and enjoy the
beautiful fireworks display!
Happy 4th everyone!

Sweet Devotion
Andrew Robertson Jul 2014
Katherine, my sweet,
I'd like to offer you a treat.
The chance to be my
companion; my life,
and in time, my dear wife.
In exchange for your love,
I offer mine & the world
for my dove.
If this does to often rhyme,
Read it again another time.
Though the words may stay the same,
my love for you will never change.
These final words I say to thee:
Give your love unto me!
Darlin', meet me in the hall,
and under my spell, you shall fall.

Salvadore Silversteen
Andrew Robertson Jul 2014
Salvadore Silversteen
was a simple man,
yet, he may be the
strangest man you've ever seen.

His right foot was a whole
2 sizes bigger than his left
and his shoulder was dominated
by a giant mole.

His overly large arms
hung low like a gorilla.
He awoke at 6:13 every morning
promtly, never using an alarm.

In his house, you'll find
not a single timepiece.
The absurdly, accurate time
is stuck in his mind.

He's been here long as I can remember,
starting out each monotonous day the same.
That'll be sixteen years
come this December.

No one is quite sure
exactly what Ol' Sal did,
but he was the wealthiest man
that lived near Yorkshire.

Ol' Sal himself was
intimidating at a distance,
yet, in person,
he's the nicest man-just because.

He calls everyone in town
by thier first names
and in every greeting,
the man never had a frown.

Everywhere he went,
he'd whistle the same dreadful tune.
The theme to that movie
by the name of "Rent."

Two Tuesdays ago, he
vanished without a trace.
His house spotless and in his yard
sprouted a humongous Foxglove tree.

He left or was taken,
but his spirit remains
to protect those who,
otherwise, would be forsaken.

I can still hear the sound
of that familiar theme
everytime I pass by
any lawn freshly mown.

Salvadore Silversteen
was a simple man,
yet, he was definately the
strangest man I've ever seen.

If ever you meet a man
that meets his description,
be kind and courteous
as best you can.

Wishful Thinking
Andrew Robertson Jun 2014
Dearest beloved,

I wish I could tell you
exact what you mean to me.
I wish that I could show you
how you make me feel.
I wish I had more time to spend
with you and see that amazing smile.

I know you have a boyfriend and
he must be doing a great job because
you're always happy, smiling brightly
and laughing...

You enchant men without even trying
and every one of us fall for you.

What I wish most of all
is to sweep you off your feet,
take you away and travel the
world with you at my side.

I think I can make you far
happier than you already are,
but I know, without a doubt,
that you can make me the
happiest man in the world.

As long as there is a
single star above you,
you will remain on my
mind and in my heart.

I know I can't have you,
but that's why it's called
wishful thinking!

Failure
Andrew Robertson Jun 2014
A wall of clouds in the distance,
moving quickly, I can see.
A few minutes later,
It's right on top of me.

Pouring down,
then sprinkling lightly.
Least it could have done
is flash some lightning.

The howling winds pick up
and carry the clouds away.
It sure reminds me of
some day in May.

The first few months
went by in a flash,
but all I can recall
is a girl named Ash.

June's about over
and July's almost here.
I'm sure looking forward
to fireworks and beer.

As her Innocent voice.

Enchanting Memories
Andrew Robertson Jul 2013
His enthralling eyes pierced
her like a loosed arrow.
Paralyzed and frightened,
She still yearned for him.

For his touch.
For his smile.
For a whisper.
She did not know.

She was a pawn to him,
yet, even a pawn can become
a queen if played right.

He saw himself ******* her slowly,
all the time, staring into her eyes of sapphire.
The candles around the room were burning
brightly as he began to ravish her,
slowly at first, then picking up the pace.

Their entwining bodies caused so much heat,
the candles were extinguished in sorrow
and time fell away as the
darkness fell over them.

Hearts pounding as one,
both drenched in sweat, exhausted,
they fell into each others arms
and slept for an eternity.

They were lost in that moment
and that moment was lost in time.
That night is but half a moments glance
out the window of a speeding train as her
memories have multiplied over the ages.

She can still feel him inside her.
In her mind and body.
She can still feel his
breath on her neck.
She can still smell that awful
cologne he thought was so great.

She can still feel him
with every beat of her heart.

Feelings
Andrew Robertson Jul 2013
I used to think that loneliness was the cure for a heartbreak. Build a wall to keep yourself safe. No more heartache. So I built many walls and reinforced them with more walls. In time, my heart was encased in a labyrinth made of fear, doubt, guilt and an abundance of pain. I tried to protect my heart, but the walls came crashing down, splintering my already fragile heart. I surrounded it with all my negative energy and feelings. I neglected to shower it with love, so my heart is scattered through all time and realms longing to be free from all the pain I trapped it with. The only thing that makes it feel whole and strong again...is you!

Oblivion
Andrew Robertson Jul 2013
What is there in the darkness?

No footsteps on the ground.
No bright eyes peering out from behind a tree.
No lights in the distance.

What is there in the darkness?

No rustling of leaves as the
non-existent breeze sweeps by.
Not a breath. Not even my own.
No bats or cats are heard.
No, not even a bird.

What is this darkness that
takes away all things?

The stillness of this world frightens me.

This must be Oblivion, for Hell,
at least is harsh and fiery.
This is only dark, still and silent.
Not even my heart has a whisper here.

Tears were flooding my face
For a reason I could not explain.

And I saw not but her beautiful face.

That it drove the darkness away.

Then she was gone.

She disappeared into the light
And was seen no more.

And in that instant,
I knew I witnessed a miracle:

Hell froze over today
Andrew Robertson May 2013
You know the feeling
When everything's going your way?
I can describe that in just four words:
Hell froze over today!

Remember when I was just a boy
And I wanted to go to Disneyland?
Well, today's the day, cause
Hell froze over today!

Remember when I was in school
And I couldn't stop getting into trouble?
I'm a perfect angel now, cause
Hell froze over today!

Remember when I got married
And you said she'd never stay with me?
Well, guess what...
Hell froze over today!

If I was granted one wish,
I think I'd be a star.
I'd prove to everyone that
Hell froze over today!

When we're old and gray, we'll laugh
At all the stupid things we're gonna do today.
It's time for us to own the road since
Hell froze over today!

She
There she goes again, smiling brightly
With a twinkle in her eye.
She doesn't notice me,
So she walks on by.

She loves to text,
But not to talk.
There she goes again,
Showing off that walk.

She'll remain distant
Until she needs her Dew.
She looks at me with
Her eyes, the deepest blue.

I've seen the full moon
And the stars shine,
But never have I seen
Beauty so divine.

She went to the door
And waved goodbye.
I knew right then
She could never be mine.

Her beauty is as
Rare as a pearl.
But, after all,
She is just a girl.

Will bring happiness and love anew.

and stretched down, down, down.

I smelled two smells,
two very separate smells mixed
together to for my favorite drink.

The smell of cocoa
filled my nostrils with lustful warmth
just as the most intoxicating
hint of a spice
brushed by my nose...

A fool's grin spread across my face
and I took a sip of the most delicious
Hot Chocolate a
man can dream of!

Daydreamer
Andrew Robertson May 2013
I was wandering down the street one day when my eyes fell upon the most exquisite sight: An angel was in the midst.

She was gliding through a throng, oblivious to all the averting heads, and then she was gone. She may be gone, but her beauty and my wonder remain.

Yesterday, I saw her again. Gliding smoothly towards me, and to my astonishment, she didn't vanish right away. I've been fantasizing about this beautiful Goddess for countless months, yet it seemed different this time. It seemed real, somehow.

She smiled and embraced my hand. Her hand was warm and soothing. Her voice was gentle, content and mesmerizing. 'You're not dreaming, ***. You're n a trance of your own design. You've wanted this for ages. Come to me.'

I tried smiling, but, I felt my mouth twist into something unfamiliar to me. 'Y-Y-You, ' I stammered. 'I-I've been dreaming of you for as long as I can remember. How could this be? ' 'Kiss me, ' she replied, 'and all will be answered.'

Well, I know her better than any woman I've ever met, and I don't even know her name. I moved closer, preparing myself for the perfect kiss, not knowing what to expect. Suddenly, I was shaking stubbornly and the woman of my dreams began to fade away. Then everything changed.

I wasn't outside or in a crowd. Rather, I was lying on a rickety bed, which was still shaking. My feet hanging off one side and my head drooping off the other side above my pillow, which fell on the floor beside my shoes. 'That, ' I exclaimed, 'was the most vivid dream I've ever had! I can still smell her perfume. (sigh) I can still feel her pulse.'

As it turns out, I wasn't the only one shaken awake this morning. Just another earthquake with the 'Worst-Timing' award.  I showered, dressed and headed off to work with this Angel in my head. I turned a corner and joined a throng of people on their way to work.

It was then that I saw her. Her beauty was undeniable. She was gliding towards me, like an ghost, then she turned a corner and was gone.

Surrender
Andrew Robertson May 2013
Today is September fourth.
It's a perfect, beautiful day.
The sun is shining brightly.
A slight breeze is caught in the trees.
A long whistle is heard
As the current glides through the grass.
A Robin sings, the bees buzz and the lake lay still.
Today is September fourth.
Today is the day I died.

Girl of My Dreams
Andrew Robertson May 2013
It's five in the morning
At the beginning of the week.
You left me breathless
And I still can't speak.

The first three nights
You gave me your smile
And last night,
I took you home for awhile.

You rocked my world
And I blew your mind.
This was love
Of another kind.

You were the girl of my dreams
Then my dream come true.
I've gotta head to work,
But I'll sure miss you.

It's five in the morning
At the beginning of the week.
You left me breathless
And I still can't speak.

Then I saw your husband
Sneak up behind
And crack my head
With a bottle of wine.

Obscure Infatuation
Andrew Robertson May 2013
At the start of the day,
You grace me with your presence.

In my blurry-eyed,
nearly-awake state of mind,
I can still see your smile
More clearly than anything in my life.

The way your lips perk
As you blow a kiss my way
And smile like the first
Time I saw you.

All I need is your love.
I wanted to make you
The happiest girl in the world
And stay forevermore in your heart
And you in my arms.

I'm sorry, my Love.
My hands crimson
With my spilled blood
As I pull the knife out of my side..

Love is...
Andrew Robertson May 2013
Love Is...

Love is blind.
Love is hell.
Yet, in the distance,
I hear the chime of wedding bells.

Love is unexpected.
Love is unprepared.
Everywhere I turn, I feel love,
And you think you'll be spared?

Love is eternal.
Love is completing someone.
I fell in love one day,
And you are the one!

The Phantom
Andrew Robertson May 2013
The thundering wind
Of the approaching storm was
More ferocious than a raging bull.
A denizen of darkness approaches.
It is as though night grows darker
In his presence and the trees fall silent.
Intimidation and power are omnipotent
As he strikes fear into the hearts of man,
Demons and ghouls alike.
He is the shadow lurking behind the trees
Or the shadow beneath your eye.
He is unseen; a phantom of the night.
He is here.
This is the end.
