Do not dream too loudly
You may awaken your conscience

we are all born addicts
        addicted
        to love
we crave those chemicals
coursing through our blood
beating in time with our heart
engulfing our mind
love tearing us apart
letting sanity unwind
but it will all be worth it
if we can just get our fix
that sweet taste of love
and the pain it inflicts
because we are all addicts
        addicted
        to love
and once we get a hit
we can never get enough

I find myself at a constant loss;
A loss for what I want to say and what's appropriate.
A loss of sounding too insecure, or just insincere.
A loss of what is right and what I think sounds wrong.
I think too deep,
And my thoughts disappear.
I'm at a loss of expression,
Although the words are there.
I'm at a loss of trust,
Thought I don't think it's fair.
Sometimes I find the words in my mind,
Then I think about if it just sounds too weird.
I've been called crazy, and I watch what I say.
With you, it was different.
I could just be myself.
I could be weird,
You said it didn't matter.
Yet you turned it around,
And made me sound bad...
I'm crazy, insane, need mental help bad.
I'm at a loss of trust,
Look what you did to me.
I'm at a loss,
Plain and simple.
You did this to me.

oh sweetheart
     do you remember
whispering i love yous
in hushed voices
late at night

     do you remember
telling me stories
with your arms around my waist
under the moonlight

     do you remember
laughing on the floor
then looking at each other
and just laughing more

     do you remember
laying by my side
running fingers across my skin
and holding me tight

     do you remember
all those dumb things we did
when we were just happy
love struck kids

oh sweetheart
     do you remember
when your love for me seemed true
because unfortunately
i still remember it too

No thing grows,
No bird flies.
Flowers- they shrivel;
Die in my mind.

Dark as night,
Quiet like fear.
Terrible as monsters;
All pain resides here.

Warmth isn't found,
Light is scarce.
Silence stabs ears
Like a dagger's pierce.

The toxic air,
The deadly sand.
You haven't guessed?
**I am the wasteland.
