Once upon a time there was a young, blind, and foolish boy
One day the boy got a text from a friend, saying she had a crush in him
The boy thought it was too good to be true
So the boy tried to go on dates with her and give her gifts
But alas it was too good to be true
Because not even a week later
She told him that she had found a boyfriend
And that she had changed her mind about liking him
The boy was left in pieces
So he then made a desicion
He picked up the pieces of a broken spirit
And steeled his emotions
And promised I promised myself
I would not make the same mistake twice
I will never give my love to anyone

How long does it take for passion to be put out?
For a friendships fire to stop lighting the way?
Or for the flame of life to burn everything to ash?
Some people are strong enough to walk through this painful flame we call life....
I often wonder if I am too
My friends are strong enough
And so are my enemies
The flame burns many people
But it burns some more than others
Can I walk through this flame of life?
Yes, I hope
I will be burnt
But I'll also be burning

Before I was shy
Afraid of the unknown
Hated new things
I could never leave my comfort zone
The place where I felt safe
Away from embarrassment
Hiding from guilt and shame
The I was hit
In the face
Hard
Then I realized
There is no comfort zone
There is nothing to protect you
But you own will
So now I see it
How blue the sky is
How lush the forests are
How vast the sea truly is
The harsh truth of reality
Only myself can protect me
I'm no longer chained to the past
And I look unto the future

How does it feel to think that you won?
To be so cocky as to 'let' me live
And as you laugh at my inevitable 'demise'
I slowly maneuver into position
Suddenly you can't stop exhaling
The breath is drained and you realize
That it was you who lost from the moment you saw me

I see her looking at me
in the halls of the school
With her long dark curls
and coffee brown eyes
She talks to me forever
as she tries to figure me out
And one might think it is a...
simple teenagers crush
Because she is beautiful
and everyone thinks that I'll fall in love
But I won't
Not because I'm stubborn
But because I've seen what she does to men
Dates them for a few days
Weeks, months, and some, even years
Then stomps on their hearts
with the old classic
' I'm sorry it's just not working out'
She's dated almost everyone without a lover
And now it's my turn?
No, she can't have me
And I'll crush my own heart
Before I give it to her

He was alone
He had been eager to impress
Those that laughed at him
Those who pitied him
Darkness threatened him
It hurt him to breath
He thought of his friends
They needed him
He stood slowly
With armor darkened from blood
Pain seared through him
As he charged toward his fate

Soaring high in the sky,
Oblivious to the world below,
The villagers flee and cry,
As it creates sorrow.

Hoarding jewels and gems,
Shimmering and shining in the lair of flame,
Anyone who enters, the beast condemns,
With a single breath, the humans soul is now the beasts claim.

However, there are few,
who would seek nothing but peace,
Those who view,
The humans decrease.

Kin against kin,
Flame against fire,
Just against Sin
Dragons are something to admire.
So. I got back into writing and I decided to try and make some more poems, I know this one isn't as good as it could be, but I will get better.

Go to sleep
And dream
Dream of those who are close....
Dream of what you have
And what you wish you could have......
Close your eyes
See yourself afloat in space
Or in a marine sea
Climbing the tallest mountain
Or digging to the core of this Earth
Dream of friends and family
Dream of who you love
Or cry in the memory of those lost to you
Sleep soundly
Or Dream passionately
You always dream
Even if you don't remember them

Friendship is as fleeting as leaves on a tree
It'll blossom as flowers do in the spring
It'll sometimes last an eternity, through life and death.
However sometimes the leaves fall from a tree and rot
Sometimes flowers wither and die
And sometimes death comes to quickly for life to matter.
But through the rotting leaves, and the withering flowers, and the ugliness of death
New bonds are formed
New friends are made
And old friendships blossom once more
So don't be sad
It's not the end
It's only the beginning

Fate
A thing to be accepted
Or a thing to be challenged
Fate steers us toward our end
Or to a new beginning
A fading light in the darkness
Or a shadow in the blinding light
Is Fate our destiny
Can we fight it if we tried
Our does our Fate predict even that
Can we **** Fate
Or will Fate **** us

I still remember the day we first met
You gave me a marker, and I asked for your name
I still remember the day we became friends, and you let me in close
I still remember the days we'd walk together in the halls
I still remember when you'd smile at me
I still remember when we'd text forever
I still remember I'd tease you
And you'd tease me
I still remember, and I want those days to continue
But can they still go on, it's up to you
I still remember though
Even if you don't

It can be cold and cruel
Or it can be warm and pleasant
It can be short and fleeting
Or it can be long and boring
It can fruitful
Or it can be dry
Rule it yourself
Or Life
Will be stolen from you

Can you see it?
The spirit that is all alone
It weeps with regret
Cries with sadness
Yet you cannot hear it
You can only feel it
Even then....
It is still alone
It still fights pain that doesn't exist
Always alone
Always forgotten
Never to be remembered
Ever.....
Can you see it?
It's tears
It's pain
It's sadness

If your the only one left
Could you go on?
The world itself would seem to have taken the other side
Would you continue to fight?
The last few breathes of a man
Would you close his eyes?
Your friends call you mad
And everyone disapproves
Could you still go on?
Will you go on
For a Lost Cause?

The mind such a dangerous weapon
Used to outsmart and outwit opponents
The spirit such a powerful being
The one thing to always drive you
The one thing to always be you
The body such is power
Giving vigilance, strength, and movement
The heart which bestows
Gifting bravery and hope
And when all three are combined
A deadly force is created
A creation which has power over life
And death

They laugh at me
Sometimes they call me nerd
They try to make me angry
For liking to read
Liking to write
For playing those 'nerd card games'
For not having my first kiss
But I tell them this
"How many trophies have you won?"
"How many medals have you won?"
What are your grades in your classes
How many friends do you have
How long are you able to keep your girlfriend
Few months?
And everytime they try to reason that my life still *****
But it doesn't
It's my life, so I'll do what I want
Amal Chambers Nov 2013
Why does death exist?
It makes humans sad
It makes creatures sad
The world itself will sometimes mourn
It creates delusion in weaker creatures
Makes them believe that they can stop it
Or that it's alright to take anothers life
Or it makes others fall into nightmares
In which they shall not wake up
But death exists because there is life
Death exists to teach us how to live
To cherish memories
To let us know that no one is immortal
To teach that there is no eternal happiness
Death reminds us to cherish
What we have
To my grandfather who passed away before I got to know him.

Never shall I forget that girl who always kept me company
Never shall I forget her laugh, that always made me smile
Never shall I forget that mischievous grin that always led trouble
Never shall I forget the way she tossed her hair
Never shall I forget the way she used to cry
Never shall I forget the way she held my hand
Never shall I forget the way she said goodbye

A place where dreams are reality
Where one can trust another
Even the harshest of animals find peace
Where nightmares don't exist
A place where waterfalls are a soft thing
Where any butterfly can become an eagle
That soars high in the sky
Stormy skies and draining suns
Become starry skies
And setting suns cast moonlight everywhere
A place where no matter who you are
Or what you've done
You may always find peace

Something far more dangerous than any weapon
Something far more destructive than war
Something more awe inspiring than any hero
Something more beautiful than any heavenly maiden
Brighter than the sun itself
And far more fragile than any glass
Seducing any one who could even picture it
The Phoenix Fire

It must feel good
To strike at royalty
To ****** a blade with gold
To avenge the unjust hangings and deaths
To send the 'rulers of the world' to oblivion
To make them cry instead of hundreds of people
It must feel good
To slay royalty
Amal Chambers Feb 2014
Searching for a purpose
He travels to the greatest of challenges
Treads only the most dangerous paths
Hikes only the tallest of mountains
Fights the harshest weather
And only sleeps
When he is close to death
Amal Chambers Mar 2013
It began at night with the moon so silver
At one glance there, another gone
It lifted it's nose, and growled
The wind grew cold as the beast found it's prey
Belly rumbled, and the very forest wanted it to feed
But the beast knew better
Crawling toward it's soon-to-be meal
The prey was oblivious to the danger
The night was pierced by a deafening howl
The crows sang their dreadful song
The hunt was over
Yeah, I'm kinda new to this, so if you've got tips don't hesitate to give them out.

What happened to the birds that used to sing
What happened to turn green prairies dark with death
What happened to the liveliness in the sky
What happened to the crystal clear water
What happened to the people that used to love
What happened to all the peace in the world
What happened?

Alone we are afraid
Fearful of what could could happen
Together we have courage
The bravery it takes to stand
Alone we are sad
Miserable of tragedies
Together we are happy
Taking all we have to smile
Alone we are lonely
Together
We have eachother

— The End —
